  1. Hi El Nino ; If i not wrong theres 2 type , Oil container and charcoal filter type. Those oil type need to remove it and charcoal filter type need to replace . And both comes with either metal or aluminium filter that need to wash or soak in warm water once a week ( depends on how heavy you cook ) As for suction ( Chimney hood is higher 650 - 1200 suction ) ( Slimline is around 500 suction power ) Actually what i feel a hood is just to assist to min. the oil or smoke from going towards the outer part Or to protect the upper cabinet as cleaning will be the hood not the cabinet Its not 100% that the oil will be extracted . Cos my home kitchen i brought a chimney hood and sometimes the smell still venture to my living room heavy cooking lor hahahaha But at least my upper cabinet is protected cos as time the cabinet may peer off due to moisture - cos i saw one of my client kitchen without a hood but cook often KM
  2. Hi Josvin, Can consider table top combi type microwave and oven ? Or built In Oven ( 60cm - 45cm ) . 45cm mostly is Bosch and 60 cm there's Bosch , Ariston , Indesit , Elba , Rinnai , Teka , Tenkei . As most oven comes with 5 to 9 or even more cooking programs . And actually most oven can heat up your food Just use the fan mode and set temp. at around 50 degree for a few minutes will do And you need to plan to decided where should you install your oven ( body height or below a stove ) And chose those with ventalation as it protect your cabinet - once the oven heated up to a certain temp. it will blow out hot air . For budget $500.00 ++ can consider Ariston , Indesit , Tenkei , Elba , EF . BTW why not get a package ? Hob , Hood , Oven package which i think the price may be better as most brands have KM

( Stainless Steel or Glass ) If stainless steel is okie as i see most contractors will place a ply wood across and now most oven comes with ventilation . But if you plan to purchase glass hob , is not so advisable as it may heat up the glass stove ( contract and expand ) kitchen matters

  12. Hi Dokiesim; Most 60cm , 4 zones induction hob need at least 30AMP power input . Is best to check with your designer or electrician about the power supply whether can it take it .As air con takes up 15 AMP , Storage heater 15 AMP so theres not much left . In the current market theres 30cm Induction but it requires 15 AMP so you may try to consider it . one side install a 30cm induction than beside put a 30cm single buner At least theres flame and electric on stand by ( No gas use electric , No electric use gas ) kitchen matters

  19. Hi ben . Most HDB can't take the power consumption as most Vitro hob with 4 zones is 6000W . Is best to check with your electrician as air con tks up 15 AMP , storage heater tks up 15 AMP , so theres not much left . Vitro hob need at least 30 AMP power supplier to on 4 zones , if only 15 AMP provide you may on only 2 zones - A bit wasted as you spend $$$$ on 4 zones but cant use . and it may trip the house too On the safe side : I fully agree with you , check with your electrician , is the best before purchase . kitchen matters
  20. Hi Joceloh , For telescopic model is consider built in to the cabinet ( so the motor cant be seen at all ) But may i know the model that you getting ? cos for telescopic or intergrate hood , it need a air outlet ( mostly right at the top of the cabinet - as i went to check on my client house i saw how they install ) cos if not the air will be blow into your cabinet inside Cos hood sucks the air and fumes and re circulate it with charcoal filter which is inside the hood and blow out normal air . cos i do encounter those install wrong As theres no escape for the air so the hood spoilt +++ Always leave a gap from the hob to the hood ( at least 650 mm till 850 mm ) Most ppl now leaves 700mm between the hob and hood . 23. Hi Janaloy ; For FIE 61.1 KA IX comes with 56 litres , 6 cooking programs , Tangential ventilation , Thermostat knob , program knob and timer knob - it as as a minute reminder only cos once alarm , you have to off your self . For TEK 61 IX comes with 6 programs , Tangential ventilation , thermostat knob , program knob ( No timer knob - so you will need to gauge the cooking time or use a kitchen timer. ) Both comes with 6 programs and warranty by agent ( Indesit 1 yr and Tenkei 13 monts ) . The difference is the Timer knob which TEK 61 IX does not have. And If purchase from mayer Marketing they provide 2 baking lesson free . Both are made in Europe ( Indesit from Italy , Tenkei from Turkey ) Both comes with inner turbo fan and the programs are more or less the same. i find that Tenkei look sleek but theres no timer knob , and Indesit the handle is abit semi in shape and the design looks ok. I just got information that Ariston also have a model FZ 51 IX It comes with 5 programs , with timer knob and temperture knob and program knob . The design looks sleek So both Oven are more or less the same is just that Tenkei is quite new in the market. But i do see their display set at Hougang area . thanks alot Kitchen Matters

  25. Hi Vivien , the strong smell is becos theres a coating on the grilling element to prevent it from rust while shippment in,so its normal , And the pop pop sound is normal as it burning away moisture . I did heat up for some of my friends and clients i do hear the sound too. if need any advise , feel free to contact me if doing cookies ( if use the top and bottom heat with fan , try to lower the temperature by 20 degree - most cooking books will indicate 180 degree ) cos with turbo fan it will heat up faster so is best to lower the temperature ( as for cooking time can remaind. ) Remember to do it once month and remember to attend their cooking class thats the best happy baking
