Also, he always round down the actual amount so makes it more worth it to ask him to do some work like plumbing. for my kitchen, i am only doing 21ft of kitchen cabinets (10.5ft each for top and bottom). The rest 7ft would be a wall mounted work top to cut cost as I only need to put some cooking appliances on it. btw, have you contact contractor to go over to your place for revised quotation? our initial quotation was 30k+ without including electrical work. but there was a lot of hacking in the 30k+ quotation which we minus here and there. example: living, common room flooring - 5.8k including hacking. summerflowers yup, the installation for plumbing works is $10 more for every item compare to plumbler's pricing.

my contractor quote me $1000 for 4 solid naytoh doors for bedrooms and store (lockset, stopper included). Is it normal pricing? Read that veneer door is more popular but the price is $300 each (not sure if it is hollow or not). Any good shop where I can shop for doors?

We are only changing tiles for toilets & kitchen. Actually we have no idea about living & bedroom but our contractor says that those can keep as the condition is still good (very dirty only).

Thanks everyone =) Simon, haha yah finally get to start my t-blog since reno will start in 1 - 2 weeks time. hcbing, i was shocked to see that! the flat with furnitures was even worst and we cant believe that people can actually stay in this kind of place samgalz, we will only be doing minimum stuffs. no hacking and carpentry cept kitchen. now wondering if contractor will be able to finish in less than 1 mth time.

Maybe can check with pd door distributor (Eunos) for the pricing? Can get from them directly if it is much cheaper than what your ID quote you. Can always tell him you don't want to get pd door from him.

Mine is 4A'2'. Till now I still don't understand whats the difference between all the different model! haha. It is located at admiralty and only 12 years old. Master room rented out to 2 ppl, 1st common room to 2, 2nd common room to 1 and living room to 1 also! Really don't know how the person live in the living room (altho there is a curtain covering the "room")

I recently bought a 4 room flat also. The condition is almost like yours cos whole unit is rented out to around 6 people!
