gim is this the FFM 4000 you are talking about? it can install light, the white FFM 4000 in the pic have light installed. Door - can i have the supplier's name as well? Thanks in advance! Door: thats great! then i dont need a fire rated door since mine is a corridor unit =) frame: i think there are rust or something. can they actually change out the metal part of the frame (in the middle where we close door)? i think that one is rusty as well. my hubby thougth since it is quite cheap, might as well do everything. but if they need me to go down to their office to make deposit before they come to measure, dont think i would engage them. inconvenient for me to go down! too far.

joleena how much is courts offering for the tv? my hubby said samsung is good for tv. next is LG. sony is ex. initially i wanted a LG one which is similiar to the samsung which I got for $949. decided to get samsung instead due to what my hubby thinks. ___ just met with my contractor today. confirm with the tiles, adding more carpentry - open door wardrobe 2.4m for $1250. also for kitchen cabinets, most will be drawers for bottom cabinets cept under the sink.

I chose the 1st tile for both my toilet flooring. RCR 60 (grey, left in the pic) instead of yours which is RCR 63.

What I have experienced so far: 1) Look for a flat via property website, news paper, agents. We viewed only 2 and decided to get this one. 1st flat is premium and the valuation is 330k for a 4 room. It can easily take a few months to years to find your dream flat. 2) Buy floor plan from HDB after option to purchase. 3) Waiting for 1st appointment - 4 weeks 4) While waiting for 2nd appointment - 6 to 8 weeks... Do #5 & 11 5) Bring Fengshui master, contractor/ID, electrician, door/window specialists to the flat for site inspection. 6) Take measurement of the actual space in the flat. 7) Confirm contractor and ID. Date to do (since you already know ur 2nd appt date) 8) If you already confirmed what you want to do, get reno loan if needed. RHB took 3 working days. 9) Decide what you want to do with the house and budget. 10) Go to show rooms. Compare prices for tiles, lightings, furnitures, kitchen & toilet accessories. I went to Harvey atleast 10 times with my boy lol End up only buying fridge & Tv at their shop and got everything during warehouse sale - April. Thank god my fridge and Tv they are selling at the same price at warehouse sale. 11) Choose tiles, lightings, furnitures, kitchen and toilet accessories, doors, windows. 12) 1 day before 2nd appointment. Flat inspection. 13) After we got our key, then we did #5 - 11. Rush like mad. Have to do everything in 3 weeks cos we cant be taking our own sweet time. Especially I have to do most while dragging my boy around. Stressed! 14) Reno at 15 April =) To be continued...

Update Good electrician found. Next would be windows contractor. A whole list of BCA approved window contractor for me to call/email. Need one to help me fix my current window grille and windows (changing handles ect). Anyone have recommendation?

hey guys, I've just contacted Mr Ong using the number rdnest provided above. Talked for awhile on the phone asking for the price to rewire for a 4room flat (about $2k). with some points tapping, important points like heater ect will not be tapped. not sure on details yet but have made appointment on 18 April. Initially wanted to rewire my whole house. Mr Ong asked for my address and told me that 12 years old wiring don't need to rewire. However will come to my place to inspect and check if it is necessary. Sounds like a reliable electrician. Will update again in the future.

wildhoney, Thats weird. Patrick quoted me almost the same amount as compare to worldangel's. Maybe because I told him I am introduced by worldangel? However, some big items are $20 more expensive. Anyway for electrical work. You would outsource to get a cheaper rate as Patrick deals with renovation only. So he also outsource for electrical work bah. Meaning there will be a certain profit he will gain from it. $5 more expensive for ceiling fan installation and $3 more ex for light installation compare to the price lightings.com.sg's recommended electrician's pricing.

Hi tigertgr, Congrats on your newborn! She have so much hair! I am planning to buy my tiles from Hafary too. As their prices are the cheapest compare to the other 2 which I went. The kitchen floor tile I am thinking of using is actually $0.40 psf cheaper comapre to Taugres!!! Anyway, mind sharing how much did you spend for the typical bathroom basin & where did you purchased it? I am looking for something like that but those I saw are too ex... Thank you, Reira

7 April 2010 - Went to Hafary, Liang and Taugres @ balestier alone with my baby. Really difficult to see tiles while hugging him. Will be going again on Friday. Today, showed my fil our quotation and have learned a lot of things from him. A lots of things we can just patch up & repair. Now wondering if we can actually fully utilize our reno loan or not. Might add more hacking this way. lilithfiend Actually SS one is also at $999 if I remember correctly. Also same free gift. =) Just have to look around for the good price. I go to harvey norman once a week haha. initially SS one is $999 and white is $1049 and I never buy. 2 weeks later, white one is selling at $999 and SS one at $1049... lol quickly bought the white one =) hope it helps!
