Last year May we renovated of our resale flat and used Dulux & Nippon Paint for our walls. After 1 year, I noticed most wall that painted with Dulux paint, have fine crack lines or peeling badly. Where as walls that is painted with Nippon Paint has no such problem *at all*. Anyone have the same problem?

An hr ago, got a sales person came to my flat and talked about the same thing. He also showed us how easily it is to open!! Now we are very worried what if the person who came is actually one of the accomplice of such break in. I asked the person twice to give me the company contact/hp # so that we can call back later but he refuse to give!!! Saw from one of the comment that the lock itself only $4. The sales person said per lock charging $45 and that the lock is expensive he only earn $6 per installation... Luckily I rejected the offer and googled. Anyone able to share reliable contacts to install these safety lock? Am going to check out with the 2 companies where I got my grille and doors from. Hopefully they wont charge too high for installation. Also, does top hung window needs such safety lock? We dont open our top hung windows thats facing the corridoor though.

We got our re-sale unit audited by FS master 7 mths ago. Told FS master we are installing ceiling fan in living room and all 3 bedrooms. he adviced it is ok to install ceiling fan with light. also the ceiling fan must not be directly above head ( u wont get any wind anyway if it is directly above ).

simon yah, lots of july/aug babies got fever recently. SCCPLGUO my contractor havent gave me the final one. curryqueen end up i use my contractor's cos the electrician recommended by someone renotalk is not lisenced & he wants to work at night/weekend which is against HDB rules.

Curry Queen, in the end you bought the which had been "decorated" by loan shark previously? We are not aware that previous owner borrowed from loan shark and the first time we went to see the flat, the wall was totally clean. Nov 2009. Everything went smoothly including my renovation. We got our key on 26 March. After almost a month of renovation 15 April till 10 May, everything was going well. But last Tuesday (11 May), it happened. My contractor called me early in the morning at 8:45AM, telling me that I need to make a police report as our entrance have been splashed with yellow paint by loan shark. The COV we paid was $6k. It was low but the condition of the flat was not great either. Really upset about it and if we could predict this kind of thing can happen to us if we bought this unit, we will not even consider about it even though the COV was so cheap. Also, we suspect that whoever borrowed from loan shark, borrowed after our 2nd appointment. Really don't feel like moving in anymore after this incident but we are worried that if no one is staying in the house, loan shark runner will break into our house and destroyed our newly renovated flat...

Asked us to go down to police station again to explained everything again so that we can get a print out to post on our door step/lift. Till now we are still receiving previous owner's letters. My hubby have emailed ICA (or something) to complain about the previous owner Ang Poh Kee suspecting him that he have not changed the address. Ofcourse when the agent contacted the seller, he claimed that he have changed his IC address also that he is not the one who borrowed from loan shark and he pushed the blames to his previous tenants (teenagers x4 - 3 girls, 1 boy & 2 foreign chinese women). A few days ago, received another letter from LTA (summon) addressed to Ang Weili Wilson (suspect he is the seller's son). Cannot be so 巧 all the tenant's surname are ANG. There are letters direct to Wendy Ang (if i remember correctly). But ofcourse those are not our letters, I dropped them to the "returned mailbox". Time to email to ICA complaining about this Ang Weili Wilson for not changing his address. Is there anyway for me to complain to ICA so they will take action against ALL those whose address are under MY address? Incase anyone else who are unknown to us have their IC registered under MY address. So pissed. Seriously don't know which idiot went to borrow from loan shark and caused us so much troubles. How are they going to compensate if anything happen to my family? Especially my son is only 9 MONTHS old. Really 没人性. 人楂.

This will be our first & last time purchasing a resale flat. The next time better to ballot directly from HDB. So much Safer.

simon, no update for blue kitchen yet haha on tues carpenter bring the rest of the doors there and we have to leave before they finished installing. Zachary was having high fever since monday night till fri night (yah just now)

Painter said for those project thats not rush, he do for Patrick. But for rush one, someone else do. Heard that someone's reno done by Patrick got a bad painter, not this uncle right? Nevertheless, being a perfectionist when comes to my house, will need to check every corner of the paint work.

master bedroom light Will it be better if the light point shift to middle of wardrobe? pissed at hubby that he said it is ok again. really ugly... is it his house or someone else's? is he like this because I am the one handling the whole thing? Tuesday morning received some depressing news about our new flat. Decided to forget about it for now. Here is an update: Living room ceiling fan Dining light My son's room ceiling fan Study room ceiling fan, 1 blade is faulty. Waiting for Fanco to change the blade. Master bedroom ceiling fan - need to shift a bit, else will hit wardrobe door when it is on & we open wardrobe door... Really pissed that my hubby says that he is ok if it is not shifted. He can dont open wardrobe when the fan is on blah blah blah. Wait till one day our wardrobe door flung out or something and hit Zachary. See how he regret.

joseeng $280 inclusive of GST is cheap! gimz I havent install the blinds but there are 4 blinds need to go back to spotlight to cut to exact size. =( cutting $20 each. but thank god that day was mother's day and the sales person gave me an additional 20% discount thats meant for staff members/family & friends only. =)

Hi joseeng, I don't think it is inconvenient to reveal. It cost us $290 + 7% GST & $80 installation charge.

Thank you! Update Today's delivery: IKEA - kitchen shelves, some misc items that requires holes drilled. The uncle that called my hp to inform me that they are at my doorstep was REALLY rude. As if I owed him a living... He said "You must come, if not I will put it as postpone" with a rude tone. We were late because we rush my boy to PD due to his high fever & my hp no batt. In the end the rude uncle left a okay uncle at our doorstep so that he could rush to another delivery. The rude uncle claimed that he called but I did not receive any voice mail (without voice record). Meaning the uncle never call me till it goes to my voice mail? Happiness - Turbo hob,hood,oven. One of the uncle (fatter one) THROW my hob to the trolley... I saw it because just nice we were walking towards that direction. Hope it was not injured by the impact. Both uncles face was black & fierce... Spotlight - Roller blinds x7 (Good service) I had some mis-communication with the spotlight part-time sale assisstant but they allow me to change the size of my roller blind and pass cash ($6.40) to the delivery uncle. Bennington - multi-point instant water heater & install (directly from Bennington company). Good service, he showed to us if the water heater was installed correctly & got hot water to double check. lighting.com.sg - Lights & ceiling fans. Their sub-contractor installed the lights & ceiling fans for us. Good service, the young man is hardworking. Rather finish the job then eat his lunch (2+pm to 3pm already). Also, he waited for us since 10:30am till 11:50am (we had to drop by somewhere else to get things done). When I reached there, the young man was assembling our ceiling fans. The other kor kor also very nice, help the young man to install so that they can finish the job and have their lunch together. 1 ceiling fan's blade got some problems (screw cannot be tighten). They will check with company and reschedule another day to fix it. ________________________________________ Only took 2 photos today before going for lunch at 12pm. Left light installer at my place to install. Color: Nippon Vinilex 5000 - Danube (light blue, grey tone) Dulux All - Lilac White Basically my whole house is consist of mainly these 2 shade of color. Except Zachary's room. A little special for the active boy. Living room, feature wall.

Finally got time to purchase yesterday hubby was giving black face (tired from work) cos it took about 1 hour for me to confirm order and the sales lady to print out invoice. Didn't took photo of the actual item as I left my digicam in the car. Initially wanted glass hob but due to limit choice of color, decided on this stainless steel hob to match with my hood & oven. Can't wait to learn baking!!! Wondering if they got complimentary baking lessons or not that comes with the oven... Only 2 months to practise for my boy's 1st birthday!!!

Love your blue kitchen cabinet! And the round corner! Wanted glossy cabinets but cant find glossy for the shade of blue I like. =( Have you move in? Read from earlier post that it has been 6 months (march)!! Mine is reaching 1 month this coming Thursday and I already can't wait to move in!!

Time for another update!! =) Was so surprised to receive call from Patrick that they were installing cabinets on Friday!!! 8 May 2010 : Work done on 6 - 8 May Kitchen layout - hehe designed by me =D Adapting some of the western country's kitchen ideas - borrow from library. =) 1) all tiles as backsplash only, thus cutting cost and allow me to have more bottom cabinets. Rarely see the whole kitchen tiled up for western country's kitchen. 2) only hood area with top cabinets, same reason as 1) 3) hood & baking area is parallel instead of L shape due to L shape's pricing charges. Yup! Initially I wanted legrand but just for socket & switch + installation will be additional $400!!! after seeing the socket at my place, so glad that we never buy designer haha
