I haven't had time to check on the approval permit outside the flat, so sorry about that. Does it matter? Like legally or something? Our flat is almost done, and the handover should be soon, since we've already made plans to move next weekend! I think my family and myself are not the fussiest people, and seeing that we are newbies at renovating, we are taking things very easily, and perhaps we have overlooked many things, but so far, everything seems okay. To be fair, there can be improvements that can be made, eg I don't know how they take down notes, but we have had to repeat ourselves re measurements/ or certain things a couple of times! But otherwise, everything else seems to be okay. Good luck with your renos, limc0008!

When you did your reno, which co did you do it with? Ah Soon? Or Jason from Beng Fong? Who do you end up calling to "come back" to fix your problems? Also, how do we check re the HDB approval application of permits? Can we check with HDB to see if everything has been applied for properly? I'm asking this cos everything is being taken care by them. We haven't had any problems so far, but all these information is scaring the heck out of me!

Yikes! I had no idea that Ah Soon and Jason are related! We hired Jason to do our reno, and from the beginning, I have only been speaking with Jason and his brother Ah Zhong, who seems to be running the show in terms of the renos. Jason seems to be the carpentry person. We started renos in early Dec, and everything seems to be on schedule. I haven't met this Ah Soon person yet, but I will be very wary, moving forward, when making any payments, just in case something like the Ah Soon saga happens!!!!

Hi everyone, Despite all the complaints about not being able to reach Ah Soon etc, would you still hire him for his services if you could go back in time? Just wondering if Ah Soon should be an option that I'm looking at, but all the non contactable comments are quite worrying. Thanks in advance!

Is it against the rules to share the names of the contractors on the main thread instead of having to PM? I just need to get quotes from a couple of contractors, and wondering if it would be faster to share names of contractors on the main site, instead of PM-ing each member for their contractor's info etc.
