the prob already lapsed for some time without fixing.. and contractor say bo bian.. what to do? unless i wan to prolong my taking over of hse.. No prob 1.. just make sure u know wat is next to come, keep tab and go check what is done etc.. anything wrong, call contractor immed.. if u notice is wrong, ask them to stop work 1st until u verify. Rectify asap.. dun believe it would be rectified soon or in the future.. coz if too late to rectify, is your loss and savings for contractor. and of coz check if it was rectified.. Ha.. make effort now is better then later when u regret u didn't make enuf checks.. all the best to your reno huh..

The Good. Master Tiler - Good skill - Nice and down to earth - Poilte - Tiling for whole hse complete in 2 weeks time. Things done includes, 1) Toilet wall tiles 2) Water-proofing toilet floor 3) Toilet Floor tiles 4) kitchen wall tiles 5) Water-proof kitchen floor 6) Kitchen floor tiles 7) Living/Dining area floor tiles 8) skirting 9) Room Floor tiles 10) Skirting 11) Steps of the entrance Carpenter - Good Skill - Polite - Suggestive - Discussion 1 hr, complete set up of master bedroom waredrobe and kitchen cabinet in 1.5 days + Clean up. Person who did the False Ceiling / L-box - No see but good skill. No hiccups. Person (tink is tiler and assistant) who installed the door frame, dustbin - No prob at all. - Door frame is perpendicular to the ground, irregardless of the wall. - Assistant helped to patch abit when i feedback how come the frame for guest rm is sticking out of the wall.

For pointer, i'm not asking for rectifications that cost time or things that is not possible. I need to live with windows that are not levelled. and possible flood my room and possible leaks from the rivets. cracked tile. uneven pipes.. all these for $38k price tag? and including things that i nd to clean up.. windows which is not smooth anymore.. paints from window frames.. and i have not include everything.. Simple things just rectify and hand over.. 1 week do 1 item? so end up no time and have to hand over already?

Well.. it may only be me since no 1 had kana this before.. or that he has no experience is renovating flats that is 20 years old..

He told his painting guys help paint the pipes instead of leaving paint for me to do it myself as i had asked. That's helpful. End up, 1) common toilet pipe is painted but section neat the wall is not, 2) master bedrm toilet pipe not painted and looks diff color then the rest, 3) the hidden pipe at the kitchen is painted not all the way to the top and paint dripped all the way down and covered almost half of my black tiles. i asked him did he ask the 1st bad painter to come, and he said he dun know.. while cleaning the cabinates, found that 1 of the shelf is slanted coz is not cut to the correct size. and 1 door almost came out. So i wanted to meet him to fix what is needed to be fixed asap so can hand over this week. Things that i had told him to 3 weeks ago to fix. whole piece of sticky cover for my stainless steel cover not removed yet dispite reminder every week. Windows slanted and water not flowing out, asked him more then 4 weeks ago to see.. no answer. cracked tile, leave with it. cannot change. And i already told him my furniture is coming soon, 2 or 3 times liao.. this 2 weeks there's not much activity at the hse and small like dustbin cover not settled... and suppose to meet today for final reminder and solve all small things.. and he ask me to just email him.. yah.. my bad.. using the F word.. but I have no more patience to wait anymore.. i have spent 2 weekends cleaning up after him.. and last.. he put down the phone while i was stil speaking..

Honeymoon period is over.. tink i'm just a pushover.. Last 2 weeks nothing much was done at the hse. Yest aftern already told Henry to meet this evening to finalise what needs to be fixed before handover. Now, Henry just called 5 mins ago. He's is at my hse and evening cannot meet. This is the 3rd or 4th time already! Can u believe it!!! Ask me to talk to the painter myself if there is any more things to be fixed for painting. WTF! Am i the contractor? And finalpoint is he said house is good liao.. and nothing to fix already.. if anything just drop email to him.. this is 2nd or 3rd tm liao.. Mayb i'm special again.. and this happen only to me.. but to whoever doing reno.. pls be careful..

Thanks jaskel..sorry to ask you again. For the 1st pic, the "original" wall is slanted towards the door frame. I dun wan buy too much tools just to do this leh.. if just use wall putty, how to apply and make it less obvious? wonder if can just hack abit of the wall to make it more level. For the 2nd pic, the dark line is just the shadow of the trunking. Same as above, the wall which the casing is on is "taller". The centre line u see bewtn trunking and door frame is the sudd drop towards then door frame..

Hi jaskel, can ask if you know how to use the wall putty? After replacing the door frame, the frame side is not even with the original wall.. You know if the wall putty can level it and how? or at least make it not that obvious?

Share the "knowledge" when u get it leh.. Ha.. i tried abit just now.. dry too quickly.. and rough leh.. Dun know how to apply properly to make it more smooth.. Hmm.. better not lah.. they do piping trained... then again, how did they get the pipes crooked in the 1st pl?? At least, after they gave the "force", it's no that obvious oledi. If ask them to help and they screw it up, how? Ha.. time is the essence now...

Discovered finger prints on the frosted part of my master bedroom toilet's mirror. Can't remove even after using jeff or mama lemon.. Need to feedback again. Rivets which caused 5 days of leak in my master bedroom. Apparently, Mr grill used reverts insteads coz immed below the window grill is the big box for Compessor So no place to put the brackets. End up used rivert to secure the windows grills to the window frame.

Things certainly moved very fast today.. 4 piping guys was at my pl.. when i reach. Henry just reached. Master bedrm toilet's mirror was moved to centre. They tried to straighten the stainless steel pipe in the kitchen by using the "force". I told them to stop after 3 tries.. Cracked tile cannot be replaced coz no pl to "cut" out the tiles and would nd to redo piping.. Final option.. leave with it. They tried to take out my basin in the common toilet to move it to centre. Good efoort but broke it. Henry would replace it.. All done in say 45 mins time.. fast huh.. Early next week would be able to take over and we can start full swing DIY.. Any1 wan to come over this weekend to look look before all traces of evidence is gone over 3 weeks time? Personally i hope it can disappear asap though.. Ha.. Can just PM me for the visit.. Ha.. Henry called this morning to meet up asap. He knows abt some of the comments on this forum.. Wanna ask the Henner party, he mentioned that i'm the only 1 who had negative remarks on his works.. Is this true? Or is my expectation is too high for the amount of money i'm paying for reno?

No matter ID or contractor, DIY sure hv. is how much and how big is the problems.. Question is if i nd to spend few weeks and over $100 to DIY.. then need to ask the buger and packing qns liao.. Eh.. me no experience leh.. small gaps, tink shld be ok to use either.. i tink so.. Ha.. use oledi, nd to make it even and smooth also mah. Yah.. i expect it to change.. but not before i move in mah... and is only like 1+ month only.. i asked the tiler when he happend to drop by.. he said is from the china made tiles, the kitchen is not that obvious coz tink he said they're italian tiles or something.. I had already told them the mirror and sink be centred. Initially the guy told he the stainless steel piping wld run right side of the wastage pipe so that the miiror can be centred. Even showed me the extend of the mirror. I came back next day and saw only the sink is up. Was wondering y the piping sudd changed to left side of wastage pipe. Anyway the mirror is not up yet. As I mentioned before, they lumped everything together before they left. End up put wrong mirror, ledge and paper holder in the wrong toilet, although i had seperated the items. Saw the situation of the mirror also. Feedbacked.. and reasons as given loh.. Piping can be adjusted directly under the sink.. as long the majority coming up the floor is straight. if the stainless steel piping position is changed.. they could have adjusted accordingly. like i said.. i asked if the sink can be adjust to the centre.. reasons as given loh..

Ha.. coldflamez, you believe that i changed the door frame also and the wall has been patched + painted? and stil got holes.. sigh... DIY DIY DIY... mayb i shld become a contractor huh.. "old wall" has uneven-ness.. so i cannot say anything.. but walls patched after replacing door frames shld be good mah.. at least not as smooth as plastering by the master.. but to say that it is coz the old wall is uneven.. sigh... Common toilet. tink they put in the sink 1st. do piping.. another day then put the mirror.. end up sink not centered. Master bedroom.. boss mentioned before they may hv followed the line of the tiles... see left and right also bo leh.. piping guys have been installing so many mirrors and sinks.. dun know wic to go 1st and how to centre the items?
