Ha.. can tell u huh.. if like me use the same type of surface and dark colors.. even if u wash a dirty mop or anything dirty on it.. u must immed washand scrub the water down the drain or else once dry, can see the traces liao.. dun know how to describe leh.. Ha.. now can only wash mop at the hole at the bathing area.. and minimize dirty water spreading.. My friend suggested to mop and wash mop is pail.. keep repeating so can "lift" the dirt off the floor.. but really need to do alot of things.. cleaner but stil can see traces..

Mine is from harfary also.. I would tink is easy to maintain also.. but tink is u use it like i use for kitchen, nd see how your ID protects it loh.. and i can't clean the part under the kitchen cabinet leh.. so there is more "dirty". Think in the 1st pl, dun let it be so dirty bah.. Ha.. u can ask your ID and see how loh... if he no use this tile before, ask him come my pl and see the state 1st loh.. Is coz the type of surface so the "dust" dun clean off like those more smooth surface.. and the color also makes the "dust" appear more obvious...

Hi samgalz, I'm using the black rough tiles shown for the my kitchen floor and common toilet floor. My master bedroom's floor is also the similiar type. Suggest you ask your ID for advice on this.. ask him if they wld be covered, or protected, once laid since work wld be ongoing.. going complain again.. Hahah.. Once all my tiles are laid, other works continued on and only protection (taped to the floor) is the living/dining area homogenous tiles.. all other floors would be protected only by the carton boxes laid randomly. i noticed the kitchen is esp dirty with sand etc coz alot of work wld be in the kitchen.. tot the cleaner would clean everything mah so didn't bother... apparently the "dust" is still there after so-called acid wash and 2nd wash (use water only). I had cleaned the kitchen floor at least 5 times oledi.. did everything except to scrub it by hand.. Ha.. now is cleaner oledi.. but stil looks dusty.. dun know how many times i need to clean to make it look clean.. sigh.. and the more i clean, the more the black filling for the space betwn tiles come out.. dun know what it is called... The toilets are better coz after tiling, left installations of sink etc only so dirty but better then kitchen.. you can come see see if u got time loh.. coz pic can't really capture dirt.. Ha.. u can bring your clean sample and put on the floor to compare.. Ha.. This week, i be at the hse late sat aftern and sun whole day..

Ha.. mayb i look like a person who had never been to a HDB flat before in my whole life.. and of coz never seem or entered 1. I was at the hse 1 day during a heavy downpour recently, and the water flooded til 3/4 of the height at the window base.. so afraid that it would outflow into the room.. luckily the holes are abt that height.. But when rain stop, 1/2 level of the water is stil there.. nd to wait for it to dry up or sip out.. sigh.. Know where i can get anything to put on the cmpressor to minimize splatter during heavy downpour? of coz nd to have enuf vendilation for the compressor as well..

Thanks Mickey M.. Hope some would find the info useful.. Sorry abt things all over the pl. Ha... was trying hard to recall those "unreasonable" reasoning Henry gave. I'm tried taking some of them with a pinch of salt but some is just too far stretched for me to accept. Henry called me on Sunday. Was quite+very nice and asked me if my house still have any faults. Hmm.. was thinking, should i tell him that the 4th painter did not even rectify anything that was agreed after i last meet him and the painter. BUt then, he could had given me reasons beyond what i can accept so what the heck.. Also wanted to tell him, i shld be asking him if there is any more faults.. since he is the 1 deciding what to, or not to, rectify. Also said he would send me the last modified quotation and would arrange a date to meet me.. Nice leh.. BUt i already told him 3 times, over period of 2-3 weeks, to send me the quotations.. sigh..

For old flats where the compressor is just outside the window at the master bedroom, please remember that when raining heavily, water would splash on the compressor and back to the windows. Making the water accumulate alot faster at the base of the windows and therefore drainage needs be good. For drainage to be good, the windows base of the windows NEED TO BE LEVELLED. The problem cannot be solved by drilling more holes near centre and esp when the base is tilted backwards. And dun believe when contractors say; - is "like that 1". All sliding windows sure flood one.. - My hse also like that. Cannot go complain to HDB mah. - Already drill additional holes liao so is ok. No leak liao mah. - Got warranty so dun worry. - If got things spoil then can pay but now nothing spoil. Wonder when the silicon on the "magic" rivet would dry up and crack.. and causing leaks.. Hope i'm home when it happens..

Henry offered 2 toilet bowls for me to sign on the spot. That i know is FOC and does it comes with string attached? I hope not. Dun tell me got FOC things, I have to accept the faults in the hse although it is suppose to be rectified. No, crack tile would not cause any1 to die, No one would get a ladder and climb up to see the tiles. But Henry had not once admit is the piping fault or offer to change it. And i did told him i discover it after cleaning the tile of a layer of plasters. If he had offered and takes another week or so, i would hv asked him to leave it. My Washing machine base. i gave the measurement of the machine and henry gave the adjusted measurement for the base. Is coz i foruntunely checked and discover that the tap is protuding out and hence base is too small, so i asked henry to rectify it. Am i suppose to pay for this? Yes, henry FOC the addtional 1 or haf inch. My fridge base. i told henry about the measurements and told him my fridge is opens to the right side. i re-measured after the base is made. fridge door canot open 90deg coz handle would bang on the wall and my trays canot take out. Sooo.. I Paid additional $90 to extend the fridge base and another $200+ to make a cabinate to cover the hole. If the quotations states the crooked pipes, cracked tile, and windows made this way, i would happily paid the FOC items tp ensure the existing problems would not exist. And i certainly would not make a big fuss if the grill guys waterproof the rivets themselves, instead of having me to discover the leak which leak for 4-5 days continuously without any1 stopping it from reaching my newly installed cupboards. Henry said rain then would know can leak. If i tell any1, would they get piss off? I ask Henry abt water reaching my cupboards, He said got warranty, can replace. And a few other things he also said got warranty when i feedback. Is the warranty lifetime? Things naturally spoil after warranty is ok leh.. Things spoil coz kana rain water soaked, crooked pipes solved by pushing at joint part, all these would contribute to possible future problems. And Just for info, quotations states what needs to be hacked, removed, changed etc. It does not state schedule (although i asked for 1 and was forgotten), how things are replaced, put up etc. Do i nd to advice the tilder how to put the tiles, wic 1 1st? I have my responsibility as the hse owner and Henry being a contractor who is paid to do my hse. He is suppose to advice me more since i have zero knowledge on reno. I need to clarify this. Some defects had been rectified. Not say nothing is rectified. And all these are only my personal views.. At the moment, i'm the only 1 with comments about Henry. Mayb i suay suay hit the most peak of his reno career which he super bz, mayb i suay suay kana all the bad workers.. alot more of mayb(s). But that does not explain the work done, excuses used, words coming out of his mouth. And sure thing, Henry would call and scold me (2nd time) coz of my comments about him. But i don't tink i'm at any wrong at sharing my experince with other ppl. This forum is to share good and bad. For those who know about AS, see how the good can fall from great heights.. The good is not god and certaining they had everything a human have like temper, ups and down times. Is how they do their best to maintain their standards no matter how bz they are, rectify the wrong, even at their cost..
