  1. i asked some IDs before, they said its usually due to poor installation which introduces stress on the glass. dunno how true tho
  2. any idea how old is the aircon? from my current place's experience. the lifespan for a air con system is typically around 10 years. if the current system is still very new, then u need not replace the system. changing the piping, make sure to get a reputable installer to use good quality insulation to prevent leakage/dripping problems. Chemical cleaning actually damages the condenser unit (according to the guy who services my aircon) but its good for older systems to thoroughly clean the condenser. just my 2 cents. if i'm wrong about anything, please correct me.
  3. chemical wash should not have caused the leakage. its most probably a problem with the reinstallation of the blower after the chemical wash that causes the leakage (if any). my aircon was also installed by hong tar 7 years ago and till date. no problems other than the occasional gas top up
  4. i always buy lunch for pple who are working for me. be it car workshop workers or renovation workers. they working so hard to help u. they should be rewarded somewhat. if they reciprocate it by working harder.. its an additional bonus
  5. i emailed them and they said during my reno, can get the electrician to ready a trunking or area within the false ceiling to lay the opennet cable and equip a pull string so their technician can use it to lay the cable when they come to install.
  6. depending on the brand of the tv, some brands have diff mounting methods requiring a diff wall mount bracket.
  7. did u use a patch panel? or do you just connect all 16 points to a switch?
  8. not necessary to be near scv point. i believe some of the installers are quite lazy as i've seen my friend's place where they requested the cable to be run into existing trunking but they still installed a new trunking. it just has to be located next to power point
  9. Chosen our bathroom accessories with our ID today. Unfortunately, we did not take any pictures to post up. Should also be getting the final drafts of 3D this weekend. hopefully no further changes needed
  10. im using joven for my place and its serving me well after 8 years..
  11. according to FS, any sharp corners pointing at the bed is considered a "blade" as cove lighting creates a corner that points towards the bed. it might be considered a blade. but this part on false ceilings. some FSM say its considered a blade. some say false ceilings are not...
  12. anyone knows any electrician that does lan installation and patch panels? can give the contact?
  13. i believe in FS but i did not consult a FSM for my purchase. instead, i went to bugis guan yin temple to ask for a lot. the lot came out positive and we bought the unit
  14. hi. he did my wedding dates too. as i haven gotten my place. he haven went up to see it. he suggest getting him to view the flat the day of key collection so he can advise u on the things u need to prepare and he will do the open door ceremony for u. he charges 688 for my 5rm but said since im a return customer. can get a discount. not too sure how much. have to check with him on that
  15. for those who are doing up their reno before the fibre rollout in their area, i've written in to them regarding this issue and this is their response. hope it helps General Information for steps home owners can take during renovation to allow smoother fibre deployment 1. Designate a Location: (i) Designate a particular location, such as a designated closet, where all the telecommunication facilities can be installed within. This will facilitate connections and ensure that the installation can be performed presentably & neatly. 2. Ensure “Conduit or Path” To The Designated Location So That Fibre Can Be Installed For Condominiums / HDBs / High Rise Residential Homes (ii) Ensure or cater for an empty 20mm uPVC conduit or PVC trunking compartment to the above location (e.g. the closet). The conduit should be installed in straight runs or be able to accommodate bending radius of the central line of the conduit not less than 100mm. (iii) A draw rope shall be provided in the empty conduit so that the fibre cable can be installed subsequently. 3. Ensure Accessories At The Designated Location Is Catered For (iv) Install twin 13A power point/socket at the designated location (e.g. within the closet), so as to provide power to any equipment. (v) Install RJ45 patch panel. Number of ports should be greater than the number of rooms of units premise. 4. Internal Wiring / Cabling (vi) Owners are encouraged to install Cat 6 cables for internal cabling from the patch panel to all rooms. This will ensure internal cabling connectivity. Its important to note that Unshielded Twisted Pair (Cat 6) cables should not exceed 100m runs from the RJ45 patch panel to the RJ45 wall outlet.

  18. 3 mths ok la.. mine was 6 mths.. so i got ignored quite often.
  19. depending on when u are starting the reno, response from ID quite subjective. i started sourcing back in nov/dec. and some basically ignored me when i told them i starting reno in may/june. maybe because nov/dec is the peak period and most firms are overloaded. currently, the IDs should be less loaded and thus should get better response.
