  1. don't worry la. ur shoe cabinet not that big. mine is 7 ft
  2. i use to have this problem too. just have to lower the shower head to ease off some pressure in the system after turning off the tap. works for me. just make sure the shower head is lower than the heater level so water will start dripping out
  3. its available in most hardware stores. try homefix
  4. air con guy only do the trunking. boxing up is done either by plaster guy or carpenter. depending on what u intend to use to box up
  5. nvr take reno loan. so i dunno the process. and they got the renovation permit thru their "sister company". so far so good. the ID was prompt in answering my queries. no major hiccups as of now (cross fingers)
  6. from your list i've contacted 4 of them. Sky_creation - expensive, the id i spoke to seems inexperienced *** - professional, price slightly on the high side. White space - stuck up, ignored me after calling to enquire about budget and that my reno starting 5 months later idzign - using them now. Id is prompt in response to my queries. So far so good. (cross fingers)
  7. most probably will not have sufficient pressure
  8. the entrance should not have a grout line in the middle. it should be a full piece of tile in the middle with 2 smaller tiles at the side. tiler probably lazy to cut tiles, thats why use 2 pieces to fill the entrance area
  9. erm. got pics? my kitchen tiles not laid yet, so i dunno what they are going to do at that part.
  10. you can use wireless for opennet. and place it next to the door. but in that case, you need to be sure that the wireless signal can reach all parts of your house. especially the bedrooms since you may wan to use computers or tvs in the bedrooms. also, since opennet is "supposedly" capable of gigabit speeds (1000mbps) and even the fastest wireless N is only capable of 300mbps, you will not be able to fully utilise the bandwidth. if you are doing up your reno at the moment, 2 ways to do things. run cat 6 network cables and terminate them in a cabinet near the door and do up the opennet point in that cabinet. or get the electrician to lay a conduit to where you wan the opennet point to be. I did the 2nd method, and also laid network cables thruout the house terminating them in a "network cabinet" near the tv. see the conduit from the door, and also the bunch of network cables
  11. Was informed by my ID that the main door is slightly misaligned to the wall (maybe its the other way around) Now the tiles at the main door are slightly crooked with a 1" difference from left to right. If we were to straighten the tiles, the entire house's floor tiles will be slanted. What can i do?
  12. Air Con Ledge New bathroom windows with cut out for ventilation fan New windows
  13. Updates on the renovation: Tiling works almost done, wall tiles in kitchen and bathrooms are on hold pending window replacement which is being carried out today. Floor tiles currently done in both bathrooms and living room. left 3 bedrooms and kitchen. Aircon piping and electrical works completed. Tentatively, tiling should be completed this week and next week will be plastering and ceiling works. Some pics i took today Wall tiles completed less area around the windows Bathroom floor tiles with slight drop in shower area Kitchen wall tiles and hollow block wall to segregate laundry area Electrical cabling and bunch of network cables terminating at to be network cabinet (Notice the conduit for opennet) Gigantic aircon trunking due to 1/2" insulation
  14. managed to find a spare 1 lying around in my house.. managed to take pictures of it and also the installed floor trap.
  15. what do u mean external wall damage? the damage is on the outside? not in your house? PS. sorry about the cranky reply just now, HP is running crazy.. auto add +s
  16. i did mine by calling up SP services hotline. just told them i wanna take over the supply on this date. and they went up to take the meter reading. no signature on my part

  18. wa. 3/4. i using 1/2 already feel the trunking is very big le
  19. i saw 1 at the lighting shop when i was shopping for my lights. extreme lighting at balestier iirc its 300++
  20. on the wall next to or above the gate?
  21. i'm not sure. i think you can. but if theres any problem. then have to tear down. carpentry is that price range. but having carpentry in shower area, the wood won't last long
  22. there is a 4 port option? i can consider that then! less casings
  23. yep. i ran cat 6 thruout the place. so needed to get cat 6 faceplates from legrand. from what i heard frm Choo Chiang, cat 6 faceplates need to order. no ready stock.
  24. you don't usually see 12 port switches. it usually comes in 5/8/16/24 i got the SMC 16 port gigabit switch from PC show at 199. quite a good price imo just get a rack mount switch and place it on a desktop. it works as well. only diff is the cable connection at the front. very hard to find 16 port desktop switches. i remember seeing 1 from dlink that costs 399. i could have got 2 SMCs
  25. yep. htng is right. i was quoted 3x$120 to box up the pipe in the kitchen. same price as kitchen cabinet. not recommended to use wood cabinets to box up pipes in the washroom tho. should use concrete slabs instead. wood doesn't last well in the washroom due to the moisture
