  1. got la Samy jie...u forgot liao he almost called u bro samgalz but stopped short but unfortunately u corrected him asap... otherwise, i wld've been worried and suspicious if 'samgalz' is a he or she (or maybe both?!?) http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?s=...st&p=515956
  2. hah...yah man, that calibration thing is a bummer. not sure if it auto detects or have digital presets? Ehh..we like getting same system almost...im looking at the oppo80, 83 and LG BD390... is urs a 3D LED TV? coz the 608 is rather new with HDMI 1.4a compliant (supports 3D video). read that both 707 & 608 are pretty similiar in power & in performance. And that the 608 uses the faroudja chipset as the 707. if that were the case, i may not be too inclined towards the 707 but would like to know the price nonetheless...haha Furthermore, not many bluray content are in 3D format yet. but its a good investment for the future. although if u have the ps3 slim, there's also the highly anticipated PlayStation 3 firmware upgrade to enable 3D playback as announced by Sony.
  3. cham...this kind of thing can happen meh? i put mine at common toilet coz dowan to disrupt the MBR toilet look... come to think of it, my MBR having 3 hot water points...common toilet only 1...am using Joven 35L..the new energy saving version..
  4. hah, yah hor...now i also realised GG havent confirmed his ID leh...too much extra time liao... Samy jie...sounds like macam u need a transformer type table...anytime can transform to rectangular or round or triangular depending on ur mood swings...
  5. Yah, Onkyo 608 only have Audyssey 2EQ but Denon 1910 also has Audyssey Multi EQ... but then again dun u think that the 707 is an overkill for our satellites? at least thats what KEC told me when i enquired abt Denon 2310...i mean, we could still get the desired AVR but value for money in terms of compatibility? Anyways, recommended A/V Receiver Crossover Setting for our ProCenter 1000 is 80 Hz, whereas, the recommended A/V Receiver Crossover Setting for our ProMonitor 800 satellites is 100 Hz. And if u getting the CHT8Q sub as well, does seems that it has an EQ room correction system too? does that matter in terms of caliberation?
  6. another good catch from the HDB balance sales... Lets have a look at the floorplan too. Nah, Lilith....this flat has a big squarish living room...mine is L-shaped tapered towards bedrooms...
  7. no leh...urs is the 607 right? mine is the 1910... my final installation is towards end of June...got time to make changes...they ok with it... Dennis said he will call me up once the 608 is in for me to come down and audition... think a number of us keen to know the 707 / 708 pricing...hahaha....
  8. Thanks... Aiyah, so long our aircon serves it purpose then we shd be happy liao... Glad my research is worthwhile to identify the right BTU then... Er...the floor tiles laid liao la...probably does not look so because of the dust and such or is it because my floor is suppose to be white?
  9. no prob...i rmbr reading somewhr that the 707 is abt same price as Denon 2310, which already is some $300 to $400 more then the 1910... recommended selling for 1910 is $999 but since we bought our respective 607 and 1910 from KEC at $699, guess the 707 selling ard $1099 perhaps? better confirm with them tho if u r keen...coz im a little keen too! Lol...
  10. What is the soundbar that is in ur hands now? with a cove ceiling it looks easier to install...just place the spkr cables within the cove but then again not good leh coz of ur T5s, direct heat will deteriorate the condition of ur cables... unless u willing to see casing running just below the L-box / false ceiling? Whats ur budget for 5.1 anyway if u plan to get?
  11. Yah, now then can see the rear speakers. eh, u mount and lay the cables urself meh? K la, so long u tilt all those satelites towards ur seating area then u can enjoy the sounds in all its glory... Try on a blu ray la...u shd be blown away irregardless entry level HTS or not.. wahahaha... U bought for $799 ah? How many HDMI ports does ur system have? Hmm...me itchy backside think of getting another system for my gaming room.....maybe end of the year...
  12. shd be at least another $200 to $300 more then the 607 dude...
  13. Yup yup... was thinking of doing cement walls at my tub feature wall as a substitue to rockstone walls...but then i found similar-looking tiles to rockstone and cheaper at Hafary, hence decided to go for those lor..
  14. Air-con Installation - More Pics to Tell The Story Natural Cool staff doing house keeping End Result With FanCoil Mounted Another Look At the Panasonic Invertor
  15. Air-con Installation - Pics to Tell The Story Must have Spiderman Skills to Work This Line Aircon water pipes drilled into common toilet, copper pipes heading towards MBR Running of the aircon water pipes and stainless steel pipes Patched up the trunking gaps at the walls
  16. Air-con Installation - Part 2 I was glad I took leave on the day aircon installation was done to supervise and familiarise myself with the works. I think if I was not around that day, the trunking layout would be done via shortcut as suggested by the Natural Cool technician. This shortcut means the trunking would run over the 2nd bedroom door into the MBR and along the lower portion of the dividing wall where my bed is meant to be located. This is a no-no because it’s a definite eye-sore and will also cause the bed headboard to not be flushed against the wall. Bleargh! Due to the different layout of each home and the postion of the fan coils, there is a need to plan the trunking to achieve a reduction of the unsightly looking casing and at the same time optimizing the length of the gas pipes to prolong the life of your air-con. This is because the longer your trunking (esp the copper pipes) is, the harder your compressor has to work to bring the cool air to your fan coils and draw the warm gas back, the shorter the life span of the compressor. As such, I was adamant that the Natural Cool technicians adhered to my request: Run the trunking within bedroom 2, with water piping drilled into common toilet instead of the MBR one, copper pipe and insulation then goes below bedroom 2 windows and into MBR where the outdoor compressor is seated. By doing it my way, it was an extra run of 3m in terms of piping and trunkings, which I seriously feel I could live with bearing in mind the information I was given in the paragraph above. Furthermore, mine is just a single split inverter so my compressor definitely wont be working overtime. To summarise, the procedures of installing the aircon is usually done this way: 1) Copper pipe and insulation 2) Water Pipe (if done separately from the copper piping ) 3) The air-con fan coils and compressor
  17. Air-con Installation - Part 1 I am sure most on RT would’ve known by now, there is a very good write-up on this at Aircon Blog. There are instructions on the site that teaches you how to read an air-conditioner catalogue, what to look out for in an air-conditioner, how to decide if the air-conditioner you are looking at have the features you want and tips on how to save energy when using the air-conditioner. Air conditioners are rated in BTU (British Thermal Units). They are a measurement of how much heat is being transferred from the room to where the heat is dumped out doors. I managed to determine the suitable size A/C that my space requires base on my research. Calculate the size of the room by multiplying the width of the room by the length of the room. To convert square metres to square feet, 1 sq m = 10.76 sq ft. Using this area of my living space size, i determined the BTUs required to cool that particular room. Below is a rough guide based on a room having average number of windows, and sun exposure, which I found somewhere and now sharing it here with you guys. Room in SQ FT : BTU required 100–150 : 5500–8250 BTU 150–200 : 8250–11000 BTU 200–250 : 11000–13750 BTU 250-375 : 13750–20625 BTU Panasonic CSS18JKZW Compressor Panasonic CSS18JKZW Fancoil
  18. Lol...good for u but measure first just in case! even then, most ceilings are no lesser then 2m mah...even our graves will be 7ft deep...haha
  19. Yup, BUT...my rainshower will be outside the tub... my concern is not abt height but rather maintenance of the tub. to me not worth to clean and wash off the soap and shampoo suds in the tub after a quick shower. the tub is exclusive for me or wife's moment of solitude so dun like the idea of standing in there. but different ppl different preferences mah...although i think with the way u restructuring ur bath area like got space to separate tub from rainshower? have HDB approved the hacking of that space?
  20. Lol...if its a free giveaway, someone surely will snap it off ur hands soon. Try posting at the garage sales too patsy.
  21. of course i dun expect suicidal tactics or line-up against Chelski. even with a reserve team its still 11 vs 11. Cavalieri; Degen, Ayala, Kyrgiakos, Kelly; El Zhar, Lucas, Masch, Benayoun, Pacheco and Babel. on hindsight, aside from who shd be the rightful Champion, long term financial implications matters. Sure, champs league next season reaps in gd money. BUT, this will only make the two greedy Yanks more insistent on selling Liverpool at their exhorbitant prices! they are already looking to make 4 times what they paid to buy Liverpool in 2007. Yah right...growth my a**! I mean, who are they trying to kid?!? American liars! Then comes the question, who will be daft, never mind rich enough, to splurge on wasting almost a quarter of their initial investment to pay off debts, another half for building the stadium and the remaining quarter for daily running of the club?? They are unreasonable, greedy and selfish! Cant believe we are not forceful enough to drive out these Yanks earlier. Sorry, rant over.
  22. Samy jie, whats the trade secret u know abt pros and cons of storage and instant heaters?!? *press search*...........<waiting for answers>
  23. how tall are u and hubby? rainshowers u can mount the bracket abit higher so long it doesnt hit the pipe or the ceiling above. Normally abt 2m from floor. HDB ceiling ard 2.4m liao... bathtubs, standalone shd give up a gap of 10cm from the floor. built in u can put on the floor and just tile the front so saves u in terms of height space? Tub height depends on the depth u go for ranging from 30cm to 60cm deep but is irrelevant since u will be standing in there. therefore, unless u both are above 2m...then not practical la...
  24. Haha...these pics i was looking forward to. Eh, one u ceiling mount on the L-Box, the other on the wall? How come ur rear speakers cant view?? u self install izit? i wanna see how far u put them back. my little concern with wall/ceiling mount speakers are aesthetics. Worried dun go with the reno. But urs looks fine. Main thing must have power! ur centre speaker seems to be above ear level above the TV right? Dialogue comes out sharp and clear? Mine also abt entry level only nia...GG more power wor if he gets the system he desires.
