oic...diff shops say diff things. some say 35L, SSC say 50L min... i went for something energy saving and not too bulky so settled for 35L joven...told my wife if water still not warm enuff for her, i boil water for her and pour slowly in the tub. just like what my mom did when i was small and our flat had no heaters back then. haha yup, made of bamboo from howards too. hope it turns out well. wife conservative lady so dun go to those public spas. so why not bring it to the home instead?
-
made of bamboo so sure be more durable then normal wood? anyway, will be placed away from rainshower and bath mixer. i expect it to last as long as we stay there. if *touchwood* it rots and smell, will be time to buy something else already. im a seasonal person. so when in the mood, will change even if still good condition. but only if affordable la... thanks for the concern tho!
-
izit?! wow...will read up her blog again. think i really missed out on those. yah, me and wife also do that but its been a desire of mine since young. plus, every few mths go hotel stay 1 or 2 nights already three to four hundred plus leh... last year alone almost 2k spent for hotel getaways. and that is local hotels only. can buy 8 good tubs wor... imagine if me and wife and travelling ppl. go overseas even more $$ to spend. so getting one in our own home is ideal. haha.
-
haha...yup, Samy jie kena "renogitis" liao. be careful, ur reno expenses will slowly climb up the charts. savings account go the opposite way! mine already burst my budget after adding some stuff. must find self-control course or methods for ppl going thru reno. wna enrol together? hahaha...
-
hey Lilith! what happened to ur tub dreams?! paiseh, must have missed out on ur earlier posts when i MIA from RT. HDB didnt approve hacking? hmm.....almost...so means got 10% hope remain anot? feel so sorry for u if really cant realise ur dream and join the tubbers club...
-
Interesting...shower heater inside false ceiling. either ur original ceiling very high or ur false ceiling very low after putting the heaters. Only 68L?? for MBR, tubs only need min of 35L leh... u and family must be 'warm' ppl from all the heaters. Hah! Err...i bought something like this the other day.... For more, gna have to wait till end product of the MBR toilet is completed liao...hehe
-
sheesh...so classic but chic! put near ur main door? one stop place for neighbours to make a quick phone call... and a way to make a quick buck or two for u! hah! All the best on ur reno journey with Labelle Living! hope to hear good things on them yah.
-
yes i know! so i shd stop adding items to ur wishlist then? i may still have some more u know. wahahaha... btw, ur signature states u bought THREE storage heaters?! 1 per toilet or u just love collecting them? Joleena, looks like us tubbers have the same bathroom characteristics!
-
is that so? contrary to what i read, if children grow up amongst animal with furs, they are less susceptible to have lungs or asthma problems... think the article i read was from animal lovers...haha yah, so did i! shower curtains are sooo passé!
-
oh yah hor...true also la but some ppl kan cheong they just jump into the tub w/o rinsing first. Lol...sure thing! if u enjoy a quiet read as u soak, check this piece out from Howard's Storage...
-
u mean at the floor outside of the tiled area of the tub? cant. coz my miscalculations caused the tiles to be erected right at the edge of the drainage on the floor. haha...thanks for the paranoia tip but my bath floor tiles are non slip so shd be ok. its the common toilet im worried abt. chose same as my kitchen floor but realised not as grippy as the MBR toilet. could be a concern when my in-laws and parents come over...hmm...
-
think ur hubby is like my cat. everytime im on the WC he also wanna come in. if i close door, he will wait outside on the bath mat. lucky his poo he cover properly. haha btw, already asked Mr Yeak to do something similar like urs for the glass panel. makes sense and looks good aesthetically. to me at least. haa!
-
Samy jie, what makes u think i went for daring colours? i havent shown the rest of my reno yet leh... hehe... but u r right, dulux more selection. but the way i see it, i dun wna be restricted so Mr Yeak kindly allowed me to choose from both. haha...yah, thats what i thot too. rmbrd u not changing flooring despite some tiles cracked. too busy past three weeks to come to RT coz everyday went on site to learn how my engineers work. good for u that ur hubby decided to change all the room tiles! more exciting and satisfactory mah. kitchen and toilets no change?
-
thanks! that was my intended theme for the MBR. Glass panel screen will be placed on the tile support just outside the tub. 64" high by 2 ft wide. Only.
-
Haa...diff ppl diff rationale i guess. for my logic, if i get a tub w/o jets its just like sitting in there soaking in ur washed down dirt and sweat. but with the jets its an added pleasure and relaxation. haha. actually if u have an ipod/iphone just get those docks with speakers. portable mah. no need to worry where to put ur speakers. hehe
-
Terbalik hor ur hubby...shd be those who wna use WC cannot wait not those showering...haha unless u are living in a rented MBR at the moment, hence gotta share toilet like me and wife..bo pian

joleena is doing an open chequebook renovation

agree with you on this. thats why for perfectionist who bother, i actually looked at the paint catalogue under sunlight, warm light and day light. this will give u a better idea on how much the paint colour will vary under different lights and shades, if ur home is have different shades of light and some paint seem to require time to settle in. one i chose looked only white to me its suppose to be light grey but after awhile, i saw the shade of grey settling in. Cant wait for the 2nd coat of paint!
-
Thanks but unfortunately it is...i miscalculated the width of the tub when i focused more on depth and length. Will be erecting a glass panel on tub to protect from shower but for WC, on the bright side, no more reasons for my wife to not put up the toilet seat! wahahaha... Thanks but joleena hor, who'd want to shower when someone is on the WC?! "Together time" applies only when showering or soaking in the tub...not when someone is using the WC...hahaha
-
Ur bathroom walls tiled up already ah? To have spa bath effect u gotta have jacuzzi jets too! hehe...dun forget the candles, some potted plants, wine glass, stereo speakers etc... Lol When will ur tub be ready? hehe...
-
Samy jie...so early choosing paints?? wait until ur flooring done then choose. u will be able to decide better. unless u not changing flooring izit? cant rmbr... My paints mix of Dulux and Nippon. Initially Mr Yeak said only 5 colours + 1 white pentalite. End up i chose like 12 different colours inclusive piping and door frame etc. Some pentalite some wash & wear some high gloss. He look at me, i look at him. No comment so we went ahead loh. Wahahaha.....

Thanks Merydith My bath mixer is G. Ferretti. Bought it from GR Link. Cant rmbr the price. Less then $200. Liked it coz the brand is hidden and not visible up top. How's ur tub?
