  1. welcome to the fan club then...hope ur 5 years with us thus far is with no regrets...i been a Red since 1992. er...at the current rate things stand, we might just have a stanley park in singapore before the one in liverpool gets built! Out with the Yanks! haha...wonder what happened to the liverpool share group? too bad i got a new flat and reno to cater to, otherwise might consider taking up a share to buy out those cowboys! Lol...
  2. hi merydith, congrats on living out ur dream! its a must for our homes, regardless of naggling cons (or pros), to get what we desire and that will make us look forward to go home to at the end of a hard day at work yah.. have u bought ur tub yet? whats the length urs can fit? i just measured with my contractor over the weekend, i can now hunt for 1.5m tubs! 10cm longer then he initially told me. yay! more leg room! yah, bathrooms with tubs like so crying out loud for a resort style theme leh...i actually wanted a cascading water wall above the tub but my wife object saying abit bo liao since already got water there, if i want to have waterfall effect, i can lie in the tub while she hose down the wall...
  3. coz like what u mentioned mah...abit mah fan if wanna have quick shower must climb into the tub...some more maintenance would be a chore with all the suds and shampoo etc..now we still young and vibrant ok la...30 years later after we finish paying hdb loan then realised can no longer get into the tub liao...haha 2hrs in the bath eh? now u tempt me to consider getting a sauna heater and expand that bathroom...otherwise all the soaking without sauna no point hor..haha lucky for me all my walls cannot hack, else i can push my bed into the other room and really enlarge the bathroom...wahahaha
  4. hmm...how many pc users at ur home u anticipate will be online at the same time normally? whats up with the singtel? what sort of cabling u need to connect thru? u can place ur scv box and modem at the same place/point (via a splitter of course) AND / OR place them in different locations. ur personal choice dude. after that, u gotta ask urself, aside from surfing & pc usage etc, are there other equipments u intend to link in ur home network? i.e. NAS? TV? Printer? Media Hub? Gaming Consoles? Whats ur network layout preferance? Wireless? Wired? etc etc etc
  5. i did faced some laggy issue when i started using maxonline in 2004...but like what rasp mentioned, it was probably because of too many starhubbers in my estate at that time hence the limited bandwith? but if i connect direct to the modem, if other ppl in my flat not ard, then connectivity was a zip. have to commend that the modems they gave me back then sux coz had to change twice but they did it promptly with no charges. actually, comparing my current M1 mobile broadband and yesteryear's maxonline, my current M1 2mbps plan is a blitz in terms of downloads and surfing. no go for online gaming tho.
  6. actually my concern is if me and wife will over-use instead of under-use the tub.. from our occasional getaways, we always insist that our hotel rooms come with tubs since we are both soakers...hence, have been dying to put one in our first home to the extent that during my house hunt period, i always tell the owners and my agent, show me ur MBR toilet 1st..haha i already 'warned' my wife, that the tub is to be used on weekends only to save on water bills and minimise cleaning (she should be on scv ch70 programme abt cleanaholics, always sweep here, mop there, brush this, wipe that)... but that is if i can make up my mind to push the wash basin into my MBR and place the rainshower outside and beside the tub...hmmm in other words, yes its an exp investment...an indulgent you may say...but one of those things that if you dun get, you will lose sleep and regret...so im getting...else cannot sleep la...haha
  7. from the above...i think u can make ur decision by now bro... seems like mio also got some occasional issues based on what my friends feedbacked.. and my singtel mobile line also went cranky lately wrt to reception strength!!!
  8. oh? more 'Liverpool and Torres' fans in the house also are we? haha.. Lol...thats a good one...u guys are definitely on the 'merseyside'! should build my next Anfield there if got chance..
  9. aiyah...i dun wanna watch start and end only leh...its either all or nothing, else very anti climax.. im already on starhub...have been since 6-7 years ago...cancel after 3mths?? sure got penalty right? not worth incurring leh...think since you are a soccer fan also, might as well get singtel since for next 3 years they have broadcast rights to BPL and other major leagues. anyways, MDA announced that real soon both cable tv providers will have to cross carry each other's content so doesnt matter which set top box u have...only scv subscribers like me lose out until this actually happens coz no live matches on the weekends! oh well, have to make do with delayed telecast or worse find a new hobby. hahaha hmm i think those major retail stores wised up liao...electronics are fast moving and always needed so its better for them to think that making money now is better than losing out and hardly make at all. yah, i also checked. no philips tv with these neighbourhood electronics shops!
  10. Everton Park...the place where me and my mates "jia chua" during reservist breaks... its one of those blocks near to the railway right?
  11. oh, courts got no brochure on the model to give u? yup yup...with ambilight and 100hz as you say, for $1199 would be good deal. hmm...i shd check out courts again then...wonder if they have 47 inch for this model? haha...i always set a budget on how much im willing to spend on a particular item. so if go for the 9704, my budget burst by twice lor... anyway, i can wait latest till end of May for stocks to come in and price to slash further *fingers crossed*...hopefully just in time for World Cup also..haha..
  12. is it the 7832 model? i didnt see this anywhere else except at the philips booth at the IT show.. dun seem to have much info on the web for this either. i guess its an improved version of the 7409 since this came with ambilight... so have u gotten ur tv during the IT show? i almost splurged on the 52" 9704 but common sense got the better of me...hahaha
  13. nope. thats just for constructing of foundation to hold the tub and piping to it. cost of tubs range from low $200 to anything more than 1k. depends on the material and size of the tub...and if you going for jacuzzi type (i.e with whirlpool jets) materials got acrylic, porcelain etc but acrylic is good enough and cheaper also. of course got standalone tubs but depends on individual's preferance on standalone vs built in tubs. there will be people who are against tubs and pro showers and vice versa..but its all down to individuality actually. u intend to get a tub also? my advise is space must be available first so bear in mind dimensions of at least 1.5m long and 90cm wide in ur bathroom before proceeding k.
  14. its called vintage. true to its name does give a vintage look and feel to it. sweeettttt!!! dun have the sample or pics on the web yet. maybe i post it next time i update my blog yah.
  15. hi lilith, the quotes i got varied from $500+ to $700 for a) Construct low wall with service opening for bathtub b) Install bathtub with inlet and outlet piping But since i settled for Mr Yeak, his was ard $600+. Tub wise, have not bought yet coz will only do so after detailed site measurement which coincidentally happens to be this evening after i get keys to the house. Hope the above helps.
  16. some good deals u got there! congrats! which model was offered at $1399? when i went, 5 ppl grabbed 42inch LCD for $999 leh from the audiohouse auction thingy...but i didnt catch what model it was...still, sounds like a steal if u ask me! which harvey u go to selling at $1299? is this for the 7409 model? if not so keen to mash myself and wife thru the crowd at suntec again leh...haha
  17. Haha...i thot so... Went and settled yesterday...Took us only half an hour in and out... I must say good service by Lena! She willing to let me pay deposit when she come do measurement next weekend.. Didnt have much cash on me and their nets system not up yet.. Anyways, chose the euroline for one bedroom and a new design for my MBR...
  18. bro, this Lena no longer with FloorOption? Or is Floorxpert a subsidiary of FloorOption? Coz she directed me to the webpage which i never came across before..
  19. ahh...more lobangs... got Corian Dupont top? the hi-macs pricing looks good tho... my painting quote $50 more but using pentalite and sealant (5+1 white)...
  20. haha...not that soon la...waiting for my wife to complain first after we move in... more likely after the june IT fair (sept izit?) then i get one for her...just nice for her bday in Oct also...haha ur roomba 530 not in the list...discont liao ah?
  21. yah, shd be in time for GSS also. got 2 types..one selling for 499 euros in europe, the other for 399... so doing the maths, maybe ard 1k? perhaps lesser with GSS up and abt by then. for that price might as well get the tried and tested irobot...
  22. Hi Kitchen Matters, Since nobody gave any insightful comments, i deliberated myself and decided to get the FP867. However from the brochure, it says the electrical loading for this oven is 16amp. HDB said can only use up to 15amp for an electrical point. Have u faced any issue regarding this? im very keen on the oven and dun wanna find something else after researching for a few months. YNWA, El Nino
  23. Woit!! There u have it...ur very own Ossify's Home Improvement Guide: Laminate Floor Maintenance! Thanks alot man for the step by step guide. Haha. Orh...my wife sweeps the floor 3 to 4 times daily so considered maintained often? True, lighter can see more dirt, the way i see it darker floor can see more dust and scratches hence need more maintenance leh. Samsung now came out with the robot vacuum. I might just get one for my wife to ease her load abit.
  24. most likely but gotta let the wifey see and agree to the tone...contemplating between this and the euroline...but lighter tone like easier to maintain.. oh, this melamine can also use for the laminate ah? i normally used it for a quick shine on my bike but stopped after it seemed to remove the shiny coat after long usage...
  25. Dude, its like u can read my mind leh...almost wanted to pm u on this but then saw this post from u! haha...so now can contact Lena direct ah? no need find u? turn my focus back to robina liao coz the variety Mr Yeak gave me too little and not to my liking. $3.80psf w/ no GST...hope this is for real man! Thanks ossify...
