Hi Ninja, (replying on Mrs Buzz behalf, she bz packing) we got our Air Con from Pure Air, they are not the cheapest but i like the guy service. Actually he's just $100 more than the others that i talked to. I don't see why the piping and the brackets cant be done first. Right now they are already preparing to run the piping and only after my plastering and painting is done will they mount the compressor and blower units. Yeah our ID is from C l a s s i c I d e a s, yours too?

Drama with the ID After seeing how swee CJREDEVIL kitchen was, the wife also want to hack the wall between the kitchen and the balcony. Borrow his photo But the ID say have to wait for HDB approval and they might want to get a CPE to certify that it is not a structural wall and that will take time. While the wrangling is going on the kitchen cannot be completed Worse is that a new renovation permit needs to be applied and the existing owners are not in Singapore, need to go through their POA. Very Ma Fun. I actually told my ID to leave a big hammer behind for me and i will hack the wall myself. That why they won't be implicated, but he very Kaisi lor. In the end came up with a compromise. Remove the window and the door and replace with a sliding door like what CJREDDEVIL has. Won't be as nice but cannot afford to hold any work up.

This is the limited tiling work that has been carried out Dunno how the effect is going to be like when completed

Progress has been slow The old electrical stuffs has been dismantled and new trunking completed. Old aircon piping has also been dismantled. Finally the tiler can work on the wall. Some drama yesterday. While my and the wife was upstairs checking the lights after delivery the tiler rush upstairs and told me my wall is leaking! Went down and saw the main inlet was leaking and basically the dinning room was flooded. The bloke downstairs is not going to be happy So the plumber has to come and dismantle the box up and fixed the pipe.

You guys so heng, my whole house plastering cost me 3K
-
This is what they quoted me 101.8Sq.ft Install & Supply of Invisible Grilles S$1,222.00 Included Mounting & Accessories - 316 Stainless Steel Wire Rod c/w Nanophase Materials - HORIZONTAL direction - AREAS: BALCONY (4” gap) - : HALL (2” gap) - : MASTER ROOM (2” gap) It definitely won't be as sturdy as Alu grilles. They will tension the wires on the spot. Guess you can strum them My feel is that it won't prevent someone that is determine to get into your house, that's why my corridor windows have the normal Alu grilles. So it will be just for safety purposes. If you want the wires to be even sturdier they will run a perpendicular wire to strengthen.

We choose the same tiles as you but ran out of guts to make the whole toilet like that.

Bro, you are fast

We DIY FS, my wife read that being able to see the kitchen from main door is no good. Maybe some fellows with more 道行 can advise If the kitchen door has already been shifted then you hack all the kitchen walls till the balcony you will only have bottom tier cabinets right? Will that be enough for you? Also along that wall there's a sewage pipe that drops down from the ceiling. If you box up that pipe (which i think most would), it would look weird standing by itself. Ah the roof... If it was in better shape might have considered keeping up but the previous NBZ owner only cover 3/4 of the area (dunno for what?) And my wife wants to be able to sit in the balcony drink wine and looks at 星星 So it has to go
-
Congrats! Wah the previous owner has wet and dry kitchens.

Excellent progress Bro

Bro Devil, my wife is getting excited just by looking at your kitchen concept, now she wants to hack the kitchen wall to the balcony too Can you post some pictures of how the sliding glass door is like between the balcony and the kitchen? A bit worried the glass door can't cover the whole area, dun want the rain to reach into the kitchen area. Cheers
-
Update: Tile adhesive has been applied to all the wall tiles (overlaying, did not hack). No pics cause not very exciting Window in the kitchen has also been sealed up. Pergo people has also came and removed the old laminate flooring which surprise surprise is also from Pergo! But the old skirting they use is really crap. It is not even compressed wood but looks like compressed cardboard. When i install mine will ask them to show me what's the internal construction like. Legate the local distributor for invisible grille came and took measurements and quoted me $1222 for 3 location. Balcony, Living and Mater bedroom. So divide out about $400 per window which is higher than Alu grille but not that bad. This is the view that my best view together with invisible grille will be showing off. Living room Balcony

Hey Simon, i don't have chance to work with Henry but now my in laws are looking for someone to do up their place and i think your Henry is a better deal. Alas i have deleted your PM, can you PM me again? Cheers -
Stop work since 1st day of hacking and till now almost 12 still no one show up for supposely tiling work! No wonder they don't dare to commit to hand over by CNY
-
1st Day of Hacking done. Kitchen hacking completed, toilets that needs to be hacked also completed, false walls along the entrance also removed. Now the place looks so much more spacious! Something funny and to share about dodgy workmanships. In the upstairs bedroom there used to be a double deck children set. Pretty old and we were considering whether to keep it. Good thing we didn't cause after dismantling we found that the wall of the set was stuffed with newspaper! The date of the paper was in March 2001, still pretty legible though SPH uses pretty good paper and ink hor?
