Ideal House Id
Trust7780 replied to kajua's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
Hi Mr Anything, I share your same sentiment I finshed my reno with Ideal House last month and the whole renov is below my expectation...Most of the works are poorly done like plastering of the wall is uneven, paint peeled off and worst of all, cracks on the plastered wall within a month..The workmanship of the carpentry is poorly done too like the main gate, doors and built-in wardrobe...During the renov, I monitored the progress very closely, visited the site nearly everyday to make sure the work are properly done and yet many problems still occurred...60%-70% disappointed...Till the very last day on the general cleaning of the house, I found that the cleaner used a cloth full of ants to wipe the floor (don't know where the ants come from)...nearly fainted....However one good thing from the whole renov is that my id responsed to my calls and requests pretty fast...(If not, my blood vessel will burst)....but this is not what I want cos there are too many reactifications to be done....I hope you will monitor your progress closely....All the Best -

Indeed "this is not a place for suggestion, opinion, feeling, or whatever if you are not a AS victim. This is a forum for discussion of personal matters where those not concern can read for pleasure ONLY!" quoted from MR&MRSGOH. Or else SeaShell will question where we come from and "invited" to meet us out. Guys and Gals, be careful when you make comments loh -

Hi SeaShell, I just quote what you said: "in the first place, would anyone work for being paid in peanuts? if yes, i wouldn't mind paying peanuts to a contractor for my work tou...hahah..." Pls do not drag other victims into the picture especially using sentences like "if wat u say as paying 'peanuts', then so many people here paying 'peanuts'... then the workers who is working for AS who is know working for *someone else* is also doing 'peanuts work'.. so many 'peanuts' flying around then..." "i jus wonder, did we offend u to deserve such remarks from u?" I am just replying to the statement that you made and You Only. -

Trev, Do I have the obligation to answer your question? Does it matter if I know Jaskel personally? As I mentioned before, these are "my humble opinion"! "Does My Humble Opinion" represent your view or anybody's view? Do I need to explain clearly to YOU AGAIN what is the meaning of "My Humble Opinions"? This is a forum where everyone is FREE to express their own opinions/views!! -

Dear Trevor [P/S: JAskel is a human being and NOT an elephant, he does NOT get paid in peanuts. your analogy reeks!!!!] My purpose for the illustration is to show the low value of peanuts being used or paid instead of Singapore Dollar. If peanuts are being paid which is low in value, do you think anyone will fight to claim for a share? You assume that, Human Being Paid in Peanuts=Elephant Human being Eats peanuts=Elephant??? I din know you need me to explain the underlying reason behind the illustration so clearly to you If you need me to adjust my intelligent level to suit yours, I will be Happy to do it I rest my case. Trevor P/S: JAskel is a human being and NOT an elephant, he does NOT get paid in peanuts. your analogy reeks!!!!] If you have rested your case, why do you "P/S" and make comment?? Pls mean what you said I hope you will Really rest your case this time -

seriously, it is JUST 150. i dun understand how that can show the "true colours" of a person. if the citizens of our country is earning 50 bucks a month, yes the 150 probably will show the "true colours" of many people, but we are talking about Singaporeans whose income are 3000 or more per month! Trevorcantona, do you know that some people are willing to risk their live for $100? Perhaps you are so rich that you assume $150 is peanuts to everyone in Singapore. There are many Singaporeans whose income are more than $4000 a month still value $10 as their live. The initial amount is $2670 (if I am not wrong) so some people just want to have a share of the $ and will go all ways and means to get the pie. They thought that they can get a share of about $500 or $1000. However as more and more people claim a share of the pie, the pie gets smaller and eventually, everyone may get about $150 or lesser. Perhaps you are still young and have not see the reality of this world...$ will reveal the true colour of a person and in this case, it has happened and friendships have soured. Assume that 2670 PEANUTS are given to Jaskel instead of Singapore Dollars, do you think there will be any disagreement? SeaShell, do you agree too? Just my humble opinion -
GC pricing is fixed. They will not match All Best's pricing. However installation of air-con is very important cos if not properly installed, your nightmare will being....water leakage, noisy and holes not properly drilled. All Best have very bad reputable in the forum specially after sales service. Anyway, the savings is insignificant!!! If you buy from GC, they do give about $200 NTUC vouchers. All Best do not include upgrading of Gauge 22 copper pipe which cost about $70. Nett: $4428 - $4099 - $200 (NTUC vouchers) - $70 (Pipe) = $59 If you want to continue with All Best....Let me wish you "All The Best"

Just because of this sum of money which I firmly believed that each one will not get more than $150, we have seen the true colour of a person....Not to worry Jaskel...I support you...you did the right thing.... -
Lg 47ls90 47" Lcd/led Edge Lit Hdtv
Trust7780 replied to Stanleyler's topic in Electronics & Electricals
Does it come with a LG 32LF20FR Full HD LCD too? If not, might as well get from Gain City, HN or Courts directly. We can still bargain for more freebies -
Is it used furniture?? If they dare to sell at such price, I dare not buy...too good to be true!!!!

Based on $50 elect. cost, you can use about 2 hrs a night if you are using non-inverter. But if you use the inverter air-con, you can use it for about 5 hours a night . I have 2 friends with 1 using non inverter and the other using inverter. The one using non-inverter dare not consume the air-con and use for another 3 hrs a night. However the other using inverter use for the whole night and sometimes she will on the air-con in the living room in the day time. At the end of the month, the one using the inverter is slightly higher tthan the other like about $20-$30. If I am not wrong, when you use the inverter, only part of the compressor is working unlike non-inverter 100% of the compressor is working regardless how many air-con is switched on.

This is the first time I heard such thing. I have spoken to many air-con specialists and sales persons but no one mentioned this problem before. I will ask the person if I encountered such question. I will ask him what if the inverter air-con has no problem for 10 years, how much is my savings?? If I get a non-inverter air-con and unluckily to get a "bad" unit, my loss will be worse? Cos I have to repair the unit and in the long run, incur higher electrical costs?? Better to seek more opinions..

Is the tap that the plumber installed new or old (existing tap before you change your solid kitchen top) one? If it is the old one and problem surfaced after he installed, it is very subjective. But if it is a new tap, he should fix the problem for you without additional charge.

I think we should not add the cost of toilet bowls and basins as they have different price ranges. The price can be as low as $100 (Made in China) to $800 (Made in Spain or Italy).
-
For the above quotation, I feel it may be a bit on the high side. I think you should get a few quoatations. Since you are doing renovation on your toilets, suggest you look for contractors instead for ids as it will be slightly cheaper. So far I never heard of panel glass from china or australia. Better get a few quotations.

Any Recommendation On Tempered Glass Door(for Kitchen Onli)
Trust7780 replied to Brenda's topic in Carpentry Works
My quote from the id is as followed: Supply install plaster U-beam box cornice with solid timber for reinforce support for sliding door track--$280 Supply install 10mm thick fix panel clear tempered glass to kitchen entrance as side wall (1800mm*2100mm-ht x 2 panel-----$520 Supply install 10mm think sliding clear glass door to kitchen entrance in top-hung track. (L900mm* ht2100mm) ---$680 I feel that the quote should depend on how wide the entrance is. It will be better if your id installs plaster U-beam box cornice to support the sliding door track. -
I think if you do a search in the forum for the above companies from EXPO, you will find some comments about them...after that then you decide if you still want to go for them. As for GC, it will be fair if you compare them with Courts, HN, Best or CarreFour....Good Luck....

Mitsubishi Electric Vs Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
Trust7780 replied to goodman123's topic in Electronics & Electricals
I bought at $3089 incl bracket ($150), upgrade to armflx 1/2 inch ($120) for the piping (normal size is 3/8 inch). Was given $150 NTUC voucher. Effectively, I am paying $2939 after deducting the NTUC voucher. If you are using inverter, it is advisable to upgrade your piping due to higher condensation. Prior to this quote, I have another quote from Creation @2699 (incl bracket only) but dare not take up the offer due to bad comments in this forum. Rather pay a bit higher and have a peaceful life cos air-con lasts for years not months....Courts, HN and Best are not able to match Gain's offer. Furthermore, they use sub-con to install the air-con. I think that's the reason why it is more ex... -

I agree with Chronograph...Bro Jaskel, u have made the wisest decision at this point of time. Never pass any more money to Ah Soon cos he will not use the money to renovate other owners' house. It's not easy to distribute the $$ in a fairest way... At least you have used the $$ to help the redhill owner in a good way. Just ignore what Ocean197575 (Only know how to cheap talk) and Konajovin (Jealous owner who cannot get a share of the $$). I support U!!!! -
Mitsubishi Electric Vs Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
Trust7780 replied to goodman123's topic in Electronics & Electricals
I have spoken to two air con specialists and both told me to use Mitsubitshi Starmex as compared to Mit.Heavy. Mit.Starmex has better quality and more durable than Mit.Heavy (made in China). Even though Starmex is more costly, it's worth the money in the long run. They also told me not to consider LG (spare parts very ex) and Fujitsu (made in China). Brands that you can consider are Toshiba and Dakins. Just purchased system 3 Mitsubitshi Starmex inverter aircon from Gain City too. I have cheaper offers, up to $300, from other companies and was very tempted to take up the offer but in the end, never take up. Cos Gain City really offer good materials for their installation and good workmanship. If you compare the prices with Courts, Harvey Normans, Best or Carrefour, Gain City still offers the best price. One point to take note is that if the sales person recommends other brands, don't listen to their sales talk cos their knowledge in air-con is limited too. -

I agree with newbie2009. It is pointless to deal with AS anymore. In his current situation, I doubt he is able to provide any service at all...Reason being is HE HAS NO MONEY TO PAY TO THE SUB-CONS!!!!! Going through the legal way is the only solution to deal with this kind of people...If not, he will continue to tell more lies, take money without doing any work and as a result, more innocent people will get hurt... -
I learnt from 2 air-con specialists that the brands we should avoid are LG (veri expensive on spare parts), Mit heavy Industries (Made in China and poor quality), Fujitsu (poor quality). Highly recommended brands are Mit. Electric, Panasonic, Tobshiba and Daikin. Hope this piece of advice will help you to decide which brands to consider. Never believe in salesman cos they will never tell you the truth. You have to do your homework.
