Actually hor....... think can support 2 compressors one. Just make sure you turn on one blower at a time.... slowly, as in give time between turning on one blower and the next. Just don't ask me how I know OK... -
Up for sale I have a SOLID teak dining set from John Erdos. Dimensions of the table are 1800mm x 900mm. Set comes with 6 matching dining chairs. (although there are only 3 chairs shown in the picture) It also comes with a custom cut 10mm tempered glass top with rounded edges. (this glass top in itself already costs $260) This is a handsome dining set. Very solidly constructed, very comfortable. Chairs are nice and wide. It will make a nice talking piece in your dining room. I am selling because my wife has her eye on another dining set and this one sadly has to make way first. Asking for $600 OBO. Included in this price is: - Dining table - 6 matching chairs - Custom cut glass top I can help you to move the table to your vehicle, but you have to provide own transport and manpower to load / unload. Please SMS or whatsapp Adrian at 9756-9716 for more details. Thanks for looking!

I hope for your sake that I am wrong, but from what I know, HDB has stopped selling recess areas to owners of corner units.

Hey, I really love solid wood carpentry. Is it possible to PM me your contractor's contact please? Thanks
-
Hey 3Dyms, is your carpentry ID Helen??

Hey, your kitchen doors are really really nice! Are they solid wood? What wood are they? Also, is it possible to send me the youtube link where you learnt your painting techniques from? Did you use glaze? If so, where did you get the glaze from? Because wife and I have been toying with the idea to do like a venetian plaster effect on the wall by painting, but we can't seem to find glaze here in Singapore. Sorry for all these questions and thanks in advance!

Hey, if you want hassle free, no dust anywhere... suggest you get everything all built in and with doors. No top part of cabinet/cupboard to clean. No exposed/open shelves to dust. I will echo jackbatok's comments about waterproofing. Water is a scary thing. If waterproofing is not done properly, water will find a way out somewhere and once it starts to leak from somewhere, it is extremely difficult to remedy. Once your ID has done waterproofing, insist on a 24 hour ponding test, where he floods the floor of the bathroom with say 4-6 inches of water and then leave it till next day. If there is any leak, it will show.

Thanks for the info. Now I know how many kidneys I have to sell to do up my kitchen...
-
Thanks very much for the pricing. Can I ask from left to right roughly how long is your run of kitchen cabinets (minus the doorway part..) Asking so I can get a rough idea of how much it'll cost for my kitchen if I wanna do... Thanks
-
If you don't mind me asking... how much did your kitchen come up to pfr? Is it all using solid ply? What about soft closing mechanism? Does the cost include the solid surface? Thanks. Really like the kitchen...

Ya.. correct, but en bloc for what??? I certainly hope they dun en bloc mine... If what you like about EM is the space and the 2 stories, en bloc already also useless cos the gahmen ain't building anymore EM.... -
aiyah... irritating man... furniture was going to come so I told uncle that have to move his furniture. He was actually very pleasant about it and say can temporary move to another neighbours' place, this neighbour out of country for long time... but will have to move back..... so i thought... ok lah... maybe move first and then see how. actually i have already checked with SCDF and they confirm that 80cm left in the corridor is a definite fire hazard and can complain to TC. If TC dun take action, then complain to SCDF, they will muscle TC to take action. but wife not very for the idea, cos she's a stay home mum and if relations sour, she's the one facing the uncle everyday.... sian man..... problem is the ex owners of my place were hardly home and also didn't purchase the recess area and thus the neighbour was allowed to "grow" his turf at will..... we complain now suddenly we become the difficult and nasty new neighbours..... so there..... delicate situation...

Matex is supposed to be very long lasting and yes, some do use it as base coat.... nothing wrong with it, but if you have selected odourless or some other more premium range of Nippon, then its wrong of them to use something else instead, cost aside. They shd use wat you have selected. One thing to note, regardless of what is in the contract you signed with them. The last payment to be paid after FINALLY being completed should be 10% or more and you shd hold onto this payment till they have rectified everything to your satisfaction. Too little and they won't bother rectifying it. Our last payment, we charge couple of thousands back to the contractor cos he was supposed to do some things that were not done. We told him that we had to deduct that amount for things that were promised but not done and for us to go set someone else to do it costs money, so we are charging him back for all these....

I bot a corner unit and bot up the recess area so my main gate now opens into the corridor instead of perpendicular to it. Next door neighbour is a middle aged couple. Has pots of plants lining the entire length of the parapet outside their unit. On top of that, they also have short cabinets and shelves lining the wall of the corridor directly outside their unit. In addition, about 60cm from my main gate, he put a small table and there are small potted plants on it. It's a pain. If I go NTUC buy groceries, there is no way i can walk thru the corridor straight..... i gotta move like a crab.... on top of that, I think its a fire hazard as well. the corridor is 1.5m width, there is only 70 - 85cm left after accounting for potted plants on one side and his barang barang on the other. I know i can complain to TC, but I dun wanna spoil neighbourly relations and will leave that only as a LAST resort.... anyone got similar experience???? how did you get your neighbours to shift their stuff???

Hi fellow EM owners.... I have a unit at Hougang and am in the midst of reno. Am thinking of installing 2 compressors... 3 way split for the bedrooms and 2 way split for living and dining room. Was told that it cant be done cos mine is an old EM, built before 1994 with no upgrading and so the current delivery to the unit is only 8.5amp which is only enough for one compressor to run at any one time. Was also told that cant use any compressor greater than 24,000 BTU, cos the current will only be able to drive 24,000 BTU successfully.... anymore power than that and it will be un-utilised..... Whereas another aircon guy that I spoke to said no problem and can run 2 x 34,000 BTU compressors.... Am confused..... anyone has any experience of running 2 compressors in your EM?? What are the power ratings of both compressors and can both be run simultaneously?? THANKS!!!! TO Andhika....... first decide your budget first, then decide theme and then its time to shop and compare... And if budget burst... which it will 99% of the time... then you will have to decide what is the must-haves and what is the good-to-haves-but-not-now.... -
Hey RB, you might want to edit your floor plan pic as it shows your home address very clearly... Unless you don't mind a couple of us gatecrashing your place every now nad then...

Any hacking done for the tiles or all of your tiles are laid over the original ones? Wat about hacking of any walls at all? Did you redo electrical and plumbing, painting the whole house? Wardrobe in the bedrooms? What type of kitchen cabinets did you do? Was it laminates? Using Blum system? Sorry to ask so many questions as I was quote easily $100K to do up my EM!!!

Hi, am getting an EM too and doing an overhaul of the place. Reno quotation so far is very very high for us. Wondering what exactly you did for your reno as 35K for your reno is very very good price. What reno did you do for your EM? Thanks
