  1. haha. i was just telling my wife that using simple calculation, we can save at least $10k a yr if we dont have a car. $10k can go europe or africa for holiday every yr!
  2. Totally agree! For us, tt was like we went to a few shops already and didnt find something which we confirm want to have. So we told our ID that we don't want to go back to Soon Bee Huat or other liao. We never go Hafary yet, so he suggested we go there to pick. Rainbowgal, enjoy the picking process!
  3. Yup. As what coffee_o said, The selection at Defu branch is only on the 1st floor. For Hafary, I only went to the Defu branch. Our ID reached the place early and already picked some tiles (base on our preference) even before we reach the place. We went around but still ended up picking what he suggested. Actually selecting tiles is very 'challenging', to pick a few from so many selections. Enjoy.
  4. I also thought both of u are a couple when u said "can't wait to see OUR final pdts too". haha.
  5. Do pay a visit to Hafary if you have the time. No harm to check out different places. I been to White Horse also, decent place but might not be cheap. ^^.
  6. there are many like us who read ur blog silently. Just that nothing to talk abt, comment or give opinion at the moment. love to see ur 3d drawings soon!
  7. actually u are better off than me. wifey and i only have vague imagination of our hm, our castle at the moment. ha. we are waiting for our 1st draft of 3d drawings and will decide from there.
  8. Rainbowgal. Is your hm going to be as colourful as rainbows? ^^. The cost of the white tile is $2.20 psf, consider pretty cheap. There is only white colour though.
  9. Hihi! Soon Bee Huat has alot of tiles for selections. They have a wider ranges in term of pricing and design I think. I think for Hafary, they select their tiles carefully. Though they have fewer tiles selections compare to Soon Bee Huat, the tiles designs are more appealing I think.
  10. I think white coloured tiles are not a problem. My parents also use white tiles for the kitchen and cleaning is just normal cleaning.
  11. Hi ling3bzr! I bet you got the tiles at Hafary? My ID told me that this particular tile design is only available there. He has used this tile for a few reno already. I think it is one of the cheapest tile at Hafary. Actually, he saw another tile which is quite nice (he keep on saying this particular tile design reflect a person with strong character) and was going at below $3 (from $4 plus). In the end, we didn't pick becos we still want a brighter kitchen. And white matches our blue hob better.
  12. Hi Lord Vader, Mickey fan saying hi to Star Wars fan. Congrats on acquiring your new hm.
  13. Congrats! Tanjong Pagar... gd location!
  14. 5. Lots of writtings on the walls. 6. Hmm... I think should be the round false ceilings (to house our crystal lights!) That's all for today. Have a magical day!
  15. Drop by again today. In case you are wondering, my parents' house in jurong west also, only a few bus stops away from the new home. If I am not too tired after work, I would drive my wife to the new home to take a look at the reno. If she can, she want to see the reno everyday. We have this belief - 疑人不用用人不疑. But we still worried la (and eager to see), so want to drop by whenever possible. Reminds me of our wedding, our wedding photographer (Joho) only pass us our 4 wedding albums on the day before actual day. But we also love his work! Time flies. Anyway, some pics for today. 1. ID's writing. His chinese is gd, I mean his writing - chinese characters are very straight and proper written. 2. MBR's toilet. Some tiling done. 3. Common toilet. some tiling done. 4. Some tiling done in the kitchen.
  16. Hihi Pinkpetter. Thanks for the compliment! But it should goes to my ID rather than me. The first thing which we saw the design was can it done between our budget though. Though we totally love it! Actually the initial round design concept which my wife and I saw was better, but we believe the final cost confirm will be more expensive than the current quote. Anyway, we are still doing the round concept albeit on a lower budget.
  17. If this is a small family and a close one, I think it is fine to have no bath in MBR, everyone shower at the common toilet. Though I agree this is a bit inconvenient. But a dry toilet is cool! Wife will love u more because the vanity top can be longer one and double up as a make-up area. The man should pamper his woman. Ha.
  18. Hi Jessy, Gd luck to your renovation!
  19. I agree with you totally. I was abt to type a reply like what u have suggested! Haha.
  20. Enjoy the renovation process. ^^.
