  1. Yes. LED lights consume lesser energy but the 'scallop' effect cannot really be replicated 100%. I don't know what are the better brands of LED but I think Philips Home Lighting Concept Store is a gd store to check out LED lights - Philips brand. The lights are subtle looking lights but modern looking. I think dim white lights are quite suitable for black theme. . But I think Loyd won't think so. . Ha.
  2. My view differs from the rest. Wallpapers can easily last 3 to 5 yrs without any problem. It is definitely more exp than paint but as u said, they are nice and there are many designs to choose from. Unfortunately, the painters we have in Sg are average unlike those I see in Debbie Travis's show. Our painters can't replicate the designs of wallpaper using paint. Even if they are willing to do so, economically, I think might as well use wallpaper instead. I think the main gd thing abt wallpapers is it is much more hassle free to change wallpaper than repainting. Do ask whether the doors are solid doors or 'hollow' ones. I think for the price, it should be 'hollow' ones. If u are going for even cheaper ones, the quality might not be that gd.
  3. Actually a few yrs back, I remembered I saw a home featured in the magazine with manga theme. It was a very well-done design. Ha. U don't need to import actually. I saw exact replica of weapons used in Naruto selling at the toy shop at Plaza Sg, Suntec, etc. I believe quite a number of us are using Hafary tiles and I don't see many complaints (if any) at all though.
  4. I bet Loyd bought u to Lightology? He likes that shop cos he feels the lights are better. I remember when we went shopping for lights, I have to admit they have lights which suits us better. U are not expecting a mickey mouse sofa rite. Lol. The only type of chairs which I really think have a 'wow' factor are king/queen type of chairs. The gold finishing.. Haha. The simple design of the sofa with the fun factor suits the theme we are going for. And the yellow and grey are just the right color finishing - thanks to our ID Loyd who went through the color selection with us.
  5. Too flattering. Side track abit, for its size, Universal Studios Sg is quite well-done in my opinion. But.... nothing beat Disneylands. Lol. Actually, we haven't buy many things yet. Still deciding on the decoration details. Lobby la? Which boutique hotel have loillipop walls. Lol. The total cost is $3.5k. I think it is worth the price for the service they provide. They came to take dimension of the circle/arc so that the sofa fits in nicely. We also went down to select the softness/hardness of the cushion. When the frame was ready, also informed us to go down and take a look before carrying on with the construction.
  6. Another view of sofa: And we got 7 free cushions from the sofa company! - can choose the materials for the cushions also. Hee. Also requested for coffee table to be delivered at the same time. I also wall mounted the tv while waiting for the items to be delivered. As expected, 42" tv looks too small now. Unfortunately, tv was bought long ago. Will use it for now before getting a better one next time round. Pic 1 Pic 2
  7. Due to constraint, sofa is delivered before the 3 disney glass panel doors are up - will only by up by 4th May. Satisfied with the sofa! Workmanship is gd at a reasonable price for a customised sofa.
  8. Just have to find the right owners who will appreciate the design of your house.
  9. Oh, this is the normal way of covering the gap for open and close door type of wardrobes. My wardrobes are open and close door type. Agree with your mum. It looks incomplete. Btw, the toilet tiles are really nice.
  10. U got the right switch for the industrial feel. I meant the grey ones.
  11. Wah, u all really think will be mickey theme har. Haha. The wooden blind was not the first choice but we went with it. And the room will be tone down a bit. Mickey theme or not... we shall see! Hehe.
  12. To draw a relationship between the 2 areas, I would recommend painting the wall that u intend to paint white to be painted with the same paint color for the wall holding the tv and carpentry. White (if u consider it as a color) matches any other colors but it is not ideal to have 2 different paint color on the sane side of the wall. Just my thought.
  13. I am not sure. Can we just set up the internet ourselves? What was the stuffs the Singtel guy did? Setting up internet or mio tv? Or both? A glass top for the dining table?
  14. Orh. But should be buying lights soon bah. I think the Philips lights look better and better. If u are energy saving type, can consider their LED lights.
  15. Welcome and have fun in renotalk.
  16. Pics for the week - MBR wardrobe up for quite some time liao but didn't post. Hee. Pic 1 Pic 2 Laminate Design
  17. Hi Lilithfiend, Abit confuse here. Anyway, I think it is not a gd position to put the fridge. The drainage hole is located there and u shouldn't be placing the fridge at the position which is on top of the drainage hole if u get what I mean.
  18. So Rasfene, which lights u purchased har? U never say. Haha.
  19. Vovo, u can go and take a look. I don't like wood furniture but I think their furnitures are decent for their pricing. D Bodhi carry furnitures with a higher price tag. But of cos, the quality seems to be better. Designs wise also better. . No matter how gd the quality of the teak is, be prepared that raw material furnitures are more prone to wear and tear.
  20. Looking gd! What color is the solid top? Should be white ba? Doing under or over mount for the sink?
  21. Should tell me. I go and take! FREE! Lol. .
