Wanted to highlight to ID today but yesterday inform me he is not free to meet up today becos his project in another country need immediate attention (hiccups I suppose). He was suppose to go shopping with us on bathroom accessories today. And show us drawings - wifey have been waiting for this! He didn't really draw in details previously becos on site many things might change. Instead of drawing something super beautiful and later tell u cannot be done, he opt not to draw first. Anyway, it okie. We will go see see first. Hopefully the scratches/cuts are not a big problem. As long as it is not so visible after rectification can liao. Actually, want to take our minds off reno for this wk, have been spending too much time on it and neglecting other stuffs.

actually, king size is not very big, 180cm by 192cm. queen size is 150cm x 192cm. I bought king size. bed the bigger the better, can roll and roll! haha. reminds me of the taiwanese food show, 食尚玩家. the host, Sha Sha, loves to roll on beds! hee.

Gd afternoon Rasp. Design fits the criterias on what we want. We didn't design it, only gave some mild inputs to ID only. ID is more influenced by European design style I believe. The dining table will become a casino table during CNY. Lol. IRs have casino tables, I also have one at hm. Hhaha. Only issue is deciding on the material, solid surface (more costly) or laminate (cheaper). Previous quotation we received is using laminate. ID will let us know the cost for using solid surface. My wifey prefer solid surface.

hahaa. actually i saw many air-con ledge becoming mini-gardens. so it is also like a balcony for plants. hee.

Congrats and welcome to Renotalk! The living/dining room is not easy to layout. Any plan what to do with it?

I looked at this and it seems fine. Really. But I am not a contractor/ID, won't know whether it is feasible or not. But nothing is impossible, impossible is nothing. Ha.

While looking around the house, saw something and not a gd one: Initially we wanted to make new doors, but ID think it is fine to use back the old ones, just need to touch up on the doors to fit it into the theme. If you see the pic, u see some long scratches/cuts... tried rubbing it thinking it is dust but not. Hopefully this will be taken care of too. If not.... my wifey will scream! Initially told ID to keep the doors in the storeroom in case not making new ones and I saw in the floorplan that ID written and instructed the workers to do so, but the workers didn't follow. So how. Let's see how it goes. To end on something gd, ordered something and collected it today! We saw something during our holiday last yr but didn't buy previously because it is too troublesome and huge to buy and bring it back to Singapore. Then we saw a shop selling this particular collection and asked whether they have this for sales or not. To our surprise, they are bringing it in. We reserved one and collected it today! What is it? Hehe. It is a display item. I will reveal it true form in time to come. Hee. Have a magical day everyone.

3. Round walkway Wifey and I decided to have 1 entrance. Somehow, the feel of walking along the walkway is better. The round living room is actually bigger in the initial design. But on site, ID decided to make it abit smaller to create a small gap in between the walls. This will help introduce some lights into the walkway to prevent it from becoming a dead space. At the same time, the size of the rooms seems to be less affected. And for the gap, will be customising a glass screen with designs on it. If pocket is limitless, can use stained glass I think, even more beautiful! Who wants to contribute to make my home sui sui! Hahahah. Will also have a big display item here. Stay tune. Hehe. For the walkway, will be hanging photo frames! Wifey and I love taking pics together. Hee. 4. Curvature False ceiling for kitchen too. As living areas have round and wavy false ceilings, ID suggested a curvature one for the kitchen too. This helps to define the shape of the dining table too.

Another wk of renovation! Some renovation pics dated 05 Nov. 1. My round false ceiling almost done! Lightings will be crystal lights (central area) + something else (2nd circle). ID suggested rope lights but wifey and I haven't confirm. Was thinking of having the option of 2 color of rope lights (white and yellow). Cannot visualize, really need drawings. 2. This is the false ceiling along the storeroom. Carpentry wise will be constructing display cabinets and a area/top for a desktop. Design not confirm at all. Whether the cabinets will follow the wavy false ceiling also haven't confirm - waiting for revised quotation. Taking one step at a time.

Yes yes. Don't take NO as an answer. Can change for sure. When they order the quantity, sure have order extra tiles in case of any chipping for replacement. Tell Yeak to change.

Hi Alamak, Can be done. But cost won't be much cheaper - you probably save less than $500. First of all, hacking process is not very expensive. The laying of new tiles is the main cost factor here. Ask your ID to quote the hacking price for the wall tiles alone. Moreover, after hacking, they also need to touch up on the edge of the tiles that were not hacked. What I suggest is, if u prefer to have new tiles rather than back splash, u can opt to overlay tiles on the exposed areas only. The cabinets will hide the old tiles and u save on the hacking cost at the same time. Just a suggestion.

I haven't bought mine for the new hm. Shortlisted a few models but I am in the best position to comment as I haven't try before these products. Reno mates, pls help our Lord!
