Just came back from field camp. I am super duper chao ta (sun burnt)! Serious! Sian! The delay... To sum it up, ID used a new carpenter for my project. But he feels the workmanship was lousy. We also feel so la. So he told that carpenter to dismantle everything! But did not inform us first! The carpentry saga started in Dec, lazy to elaborate further. Hai. Next time I will be more bossy for my next reno for sure.

My new handover date is 28 Mar 2010.

Just an update. Quite pissed by the progress of my reno. My patience is wearing thin or should I say already run out of it. Today marks the 3rd month (including wkend) of reno. I will talk more abt it when I have the time.

U can go opennet website and key in ur postal code. Just google or yahoo for the website - http://rollout.opennet.com.sg/. False ceiling is very flexible. It can be cut/make holes and others. Just have to patch it up and repaint again. The opennet ppl will probably not do it for u. But u can get ur contractor/worker to standby to assist during the installation in the future.

Thanks Pinktini. There is some changes to the design of the mickey mouse feature wall. So stay tune. The problem with the current design is we can only have a 26 inch tv which is too small. So some changes to the design so that we can have a max 37 inch tv.

Top-mount is mount above the solid top. Under-mount is mount below the solid top. Gd pt abt top-mount is if any problem with the sink, can change easier. Bad pt is over-mount don't look so sleek. For under-mount, need to remove solid top before u are able to change the sink in the future. But look more sleek usually.

I don't think boxing up is illegal though. As per HDB website, anything stated clearly that u should not do, u cannot do. Otherwise, it is gd to go. In any case, anyone can go back to their HDB officer to get the approval if unsure. Asethetic wise, boxing up the pipes make the toilet looks better in my opinion. Renovation is not only abt renovating the place but beautifying the home at the same time. If boxing is really not allowed, the worst case that can happen is remove the boxing when problem arises in the future.

Hi Velv. U can try D Home. He is not very cheap but he can do something with $30k. In general, $40k is a gd budget for him. Price wise, he can't match contractor's price.
