  1. I posted the address on another forum to warn other people about it. There was a lady who PM me, saying that the house was still up for sale and she went to view it a few weeks ago.
  2. Sharing one ridiculous case I have seen... They insisted on having a pretty grand wedding with 80-tables banquet and 10K photoshoot. Their parents gave them 20K but it wasn't enough. Weeks before their wedding, they posted on their blogs to ask their friends for DONATIONS.
  3. Sometimes it's no choice for singaporeans who are cpf rich but cash poor. There're so many people around me who paid for their grand weddings with parents' money, paid for their houses' COVs with parents' money, paid for renovation with bank loan and paid for furnishing with instalments. And they have no intent to repay the coffin money to their parents. *Shake head* My hubby and I are those who rather depend on ourselves for everything. Parents need their savings for their retirements.
  4. Done: - New SPR quota on top of ethic quota - Reduce bank loans from 90% to 80%
  5. I would ditch glass shower screen with sliding doors for my next house. Bottom part get rusty, doors get jammed easily and they are difficult to maintain.
  6. Interesting... I didn't know that Vaseline can work on stickers. Tonight, let me try my Vaseline on the "stubborn" stickers on my fridge! Jiff and detergent didn't work on them. You seem to be very good at DIY stuff wor
  7. That agent sounds like very hard-selling type leh. That form is the commission form. Agents only get their commissions if the resale transaction is completed. So don't worry, you do not have to pay him a single cent if you decide not to exercise the option to buy the unit.
  8. I can't comment about the quality of Green Furnishing's bed sets, tv console etc because I only bought sofa and coffee table from them. They were delivered in good condition to my house 2 months ago but I won't be able to know how long they will last hehe. Service wise, Green Furnishing is fine.
  9. Use your 1K option to pressurise the seller to renovate toilet and pay upgrading fee for you? Sorry, fat hope lor. If you never exercise your option within 2 weeks, the owner can easily find another buyer for their unit. It is sellers' market now. If the house is in a much better condition, I can tell you that its valuation price will also be higher than the one you are quoted now.
  10. I bought sofa & coffee table from their civic centre outlet. What I appreciate were: Salesman allowed me to store them at their warehouse for 4 months until I got my keys. Salesman allowed me to exchange them for other items if I changed my mind about them during those months. (I didn't ask for this. I was surprised when he offered this) Delivery was on time.
  11. Some stores e.g. IKEA charge extra fee for storing the furniture for a few months. You better ask about the stores about the storage issue before commiting to the purchase.
  12. I also think they have no case against you. You were just listing out their term, which is customer must pay payment before cleaning job commerces.
  13. They should have asked you for permission whether it's ok for them to retain the letterbox key. They are behaving as if they are your boss. No wonder you don't have to have anything to do with them.
  14. My friend was the house's seller. It took her buyer 1 week to get back their power supply after she terminated it.
  15. Just ask the agent to do an account transfer for you, easier. My agent did it for me on the 2nd appt. If terminate account and reapply, need about 1 week to resume power.
  16. I found it puzzling why the seller kept quiet when the agent chased buyer out of the house? If property market is very bad and there's a lack of buyers to buy the unit now, I bet this agent won't dare to be so ya-ya.
  17. Those movers that I used before, charge by no. of furniture items or by no. of lorry trips. The other section http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=4896 has more info on house movers.
  18. Yesterday I received a flyer from Moneylender cum property agent. The earnings must be so good that some still dare to risk it against the law.
  19. OMG 30K gone. I guess they applied for the Pinnacle ~600K.
  20. I pity your friend man. The extra money can be better spent on his renovation. Any idea what's the name and handphone no. of your friend's agent? Post them out to warn others.
  21. My unit meets all of my criteria, except that it's low floor. Bobian I have limited cash, cannot afford to buy high-floor units at my area that're asking for 40K-50K COV. 4 room, low floor unit in North Val 344K + COV 15K Yeah that place is Serangoon Garden. Actually there're many foreigners everywhere. There're 1.5 million of them in Singapore. We see them everyday at MRT trains, food courts etc. Even at some mass market condos, also get to see many foreigners becos owners rent units out to them. In the end, it boils down to your and spouse's comfort level with seeing them at your area. My own house also got foreigner tenants LOL.
