  1. Put something over it to cover it if your eyes can't stand it. For eg. sofa, carpet, vase, cabinet etc.
  2. I believe the seller is threatening to back out of 2nd appt because he is angry that you refuse to give him an extension. Of course they are at fault of lying to you in the first place about the payment. How about give and take a bit? Let they delay the 2nd appt by let's say 2 weeks? It'll save you time, money and efforts in taking a law suit upon them for backing out of the deal. Your loan instalment deduction from CPF will also be delayed by few weeks in that case. Be flexible to further negotiations with your seller if you like that unit very much. There's a possibility that the other seller of the unit that your seller is buying, has delayed the handout to your seller, so your seller bopian has to ask for a delay in handover too.
  3. Hehe I rather have a dark MBR than kenna west sun. If dark, one can just on the lights. My house is also low floor.
  4. Yeah, let's wait for the dust to settle in 1st quarter 2011. Weeks ago, I had colleagues who own only private properties complaining to me that they missed the HDB boat.
  5. I used 4 detergents before I got to find one that can effectively eliminate the strong perspire smell on my hubby's clothes. I also hang and dry all clothes indoor as my area rains daily. My detergent - UIC concentrated liquid detergent I kiapo went to check on the brands of my tenants' detergents in the kitchen 1 of them also used TOP powder like you but no foam popping out from my pipe leh.
  6. Seriously, noone will go read and remember every line on the manual. I didn't know about this until you posted about it. Hitachi should consider sticking a warning message beside the Blanket button. How about using boiling hot water to soften and dissolve it? I know hot water can disolve detergent residue well. I use liquid detergent. My tenants use powder detergent. Luckily they use Fuzzy mode. I ever tried blanket mode with concentrated liquid detergent, it was ok.
  7. Article written by Mah Bow Tan, Oct 01, 2010 Housing supply: Allocating scarce resources http://www.todayonline.com/Business/EDC101...carce-resources
  8. Oh yah, what detergent are you using? My recent headache was seeing a crackline appearing on my kitchen ceiling (spalling concrete) yest.
  9. Poor therat... Have you tried using concentrated bleach to remove it? Has it hardened? If it's too hard, may have to use scraper first, follow by thinner (for removing paint). Please use glove to protect your hand, cloth to slowly soak up the thinner, and apply cloth to that residue on washer. At home, I use nail polish remover and thinner on residues and stains when bleach fails.
  10. It's great that your washer issue is solved now
  11. Hmm... It looks like detergent foam residue to me. I haven't encourtered that for my washer.
  12. I didn't expect to still see a 4% increase despite of hungry ghost festival & cooling measures... I was expecting 1%...
  13. HDB is always more generous than the bank, so I doubt bank will give you a bigger loan amount. However, no harm trying to ask one of the banks for a loan and see how much it will grant you. How much you and your gf are earning monthly, excluding your commission? HDB only looks at both your basic salaries, excluding commissions when assigning the loan amount. Do your GF and your CPF OA have enough to foot the 5% (if 1 of you < 30 years old)/ 10% (if both > 30 years old) downpayment at the signing of the lease appointment with HDB? Take note that BTO projects usually complete in 4 years time hor. On the day of getting your keys, HDB will expect your GF and your CPF OA + Loan are enough to foot for the remaining 90-95% of 250K. It's not possible to delay this, HDB is very black and white about this.
  14. Soon PAP will tell us that they need to UP the salaries of all civil servants to prevent corruption LOL...
  15. Even if the bill that 1 agent can only represent 1 side (either buyer or seller) is passed, agents can bypass it. Seller agent can get their partner to represent the buyer at the HDB appointment, and still reap commission from both buyer and seller.
  16. Pixie, It was a blessing in disguise that the earlier deal didn't go through. Congrats for finding a better deal!
  17. wch2001, Don't worry too much about the PR quota. Ever since the PR quota rule is implemented, the sellers in my area cannot sell to all PRs except Msia PRs because my area has exceeded the PR quota. Though sellers in my area cannot sell to PRs and my area is wulu suburb, the transacted prices of the 4rooms and 5rooms in my area still jumped by 40K and 60K respectively in 6 months.
  18. SG Gal buys flat with parents' money at age 21. She stays with parents and rents out her flat. SG Guy buys flat with parents' money at age 21. He stays with parents and rents out his flat. SG Gal meets SG Guy and they date. SG Gal moves into SG Guy's flat and decides not to get married so that they can still continue to rent out SG Guy's flat for income. Will Singapore birth rate drop further if singles are allowed to own hdb flats upon age 21? Disclaimer: I rented a room for years as a single outside. I understand the hassles of moving around like a nomad.
  19. The Properties for Sale portions in ST Classifieds yesterday and last Sat were much thinner. There were only 3 pages of Properties for Sale in yesterday papers
  20. booksntoys, Your one is 8kg model right? My machine is 8kg model. It does not allow me to adjust the spinning speed. The manual says its spin speed is 800. I always put my delicate clothes into a washing net, then throw them into the washing machine. Therat, Your one is 9kg model right?
