Hello hello i think you are not the first person with this problem, if you go and read all the other forums, sure got people with this problem. and they really struggle a lot with it... but i believe that love can be nurtured over time... something like "the grass is always greener on the other side"... the "OTHER" guy will always be more attractive. i hope that u can learn to put the past behind and treasure what u have now... and learn that life ahead can indeed be beautiful, but u have to honor the marriage commitment u made... and time and effort will make it worthwhile. all the best!!!

Hi guys Oh No... so does it mean that no matter whether i get tiles from lian seng heng or multibuild, and no matter how much the tiles cost, i have no control over this tile alignment thing? does Ho Bee's tiling usually have this problem? I shall ask patrick about this man. hmm... other than that... anyone did replastering of walls before? I intend to do that. and box up my toilet sewerage pipes... was quoted $800 for that. is it the norm? also, what solid surfaces choices does Patrick have? hmm... or maybe i should just wait until i meet him again and bombard him with all these questions instead of asking the forum. thanks... -
hi Nerraw... Oh i see... near to Downtown East... i think that area is the best, facing greenery!! But anyway no choice since i got mine from WIS. I saw ur blog already. Ur house is really nice and modern! What a red sofa, very dramatic. I will be going for the resort look... so all earth tones type. Same as you, I am going to CUT CUT CUT out all my carpentry to save $$. Almost fainted when I saw the quotation from Ho Bee! ahahaha. I dun have any 3D drawing, i think that belongs to Crystal!

Hi hi, thanks for the advice... I am going to lian seng heng and multibuild to check out their tiles this weekend! may I know HOW can i tell if the tiles are off aligned? my plan was to have an open dining and kitchen area so the floor of both will have the same tiles. is Patrick's tiler good? How many does he have? I've redesigned my TV console, simplified it a LOT. Hope the revised quote will be within my budget! I changed 2 times already. -

hi Lukcas and all I dun really understand about what u mean about quality, do u mean quality of the materials? or quality of workmanship? i guess good quality materials can be bought right... as for workmanship.. do u mean like ah keong is able to get the doors and selves very straight / aligned? and he can stick the laminates very close to the edges? and the ABS trimming are very finely done? thankz... -

Hello peeps just got final quote frm Patrick! I think his carpentry is a bit expensive... anyone got the same feeling? A bit taken aback... haiz... see how when i meet him again... other than that. quite reasonable. looking forward to my reno! -
Hi Crystal U so fast! Got ur keys from Feb WIS right? me too but i am still looking for ID.. ahah. Anyway... ur design is really nice n slick... hope to see more updates soon!
-
hi Nerraw_warreN... I am about to start my reno at pasir ris. from the last walk-in... i am most likely going to use Ho Bee. Started off with IDs but in the end decided to draw out my own design and ask contractor to do. A bit regret getting EA cuz it is so big and the reno cost really shoot up. But when I see my other frenz places, glad that mine is big (freaking 147 sqm)... Also when I see Punggol, SK etc got full length window.. envy leh. But when I think of the location-wise, glad that I got Pasir Ris.. nearer to beach and ECP... hahaha. Another thing that hubby very sad about is that our flat is the old one, never upgrade electrical wiring. so can only put 1 compressor... not enough to air con the entire house... cuz it's too big...
-
i was quoted about 2 k for EA. 147 sq ft. OUCH but no choice cuz previous owner use ROCKSTONE wall! arrrguh! also note that after replastering, need to touch up with sealant before u can paint over it. and usually they will put it as a seperate item, i.e. plastering quotation doesn't include sealant application. they charge seperate. so better make sure!

hi oasis, i want to use patrick leh. but worried that things may keep dragging. may i know how long was ur reno delayed? 3 days? 2 weeks? if something cannot finish in time, will he call you and tell you or you must pro-active and chase him? any outstanding workers to recommend from his team (besides the FAMOUS Ah Keong...) thankzzz a lot for replying! -
i meant window frame of course include the glass. but not the grills lah..
-
hi hi i too want to change my kitchen cabinet color. was quoted $1.6k to sand and varnish about 32 ft worth of cabinets. got a huge kitchen u see. ucypmas - can i know what is Nippon Bodelac and where to buy? 2ndly did you sand ur cabinets? lastly, what were ur cabinets made of? u mean u can just paint over laminated cabinet? mine are made of compressed laminate... there are some "engraving" pattern of the cabinet.. i dunno how to paint it man. headache.
-
hi all can i ask if changing window FRAME and window GRILLS, is it different? I thought that to change window GRILL is easy, just screw on or off only. but change window FRAME is more complicated cuz u have to hack off the existing frame, plaster it back smoothly, paint it back the same color as the wall, then install the new frame. Am i correct? so we can't really change the window frame AFTER the reno right? it has to be during the reno? cuz i am also thinking of getting 3rd party. can anyone confirm this? and for EA, i just want to change the frame to bronze aluminium, no grills at all, living room 6 panels (sliding) balcony 3 panels (casement) kitchen 3 panels (casement) bedrooms 3 panels each = 9 in all (sliding) how much should the ID charge me? thanks...

Hi peeps! We're probably going to use patrick too. Can some of you who have used patrick kindly help me with some questions: 1. I notice that he seems to be really busy. was it an issue when it came to the actual work... i mean... did u experience delay in the job schedule frequently, things not started / completed on time? if so by how long, like 1 or 2 days or almost 1 week delay type? does he take initiative to inform you if they cannot start / complete on time? 2. seems like most of you quite happy with him right... just want to ask if had any of you experience times when u are not satisfied with the work he did. Was it difficult to get him to rectify the job? i mean, is he responsive to rectifications and reworking the job? 3. besides ah keong as the carpenter... any outstanding workmanship from the tiler (can lay tiles super straight), plastering (can plaster walls super smooth) person to recommend from patrick's team? thanks ah! i know i sound super KiaSu... but... no choice, first home, very kan cheong!! -
hi hi guys thanks for the suggestions! yes ah. i also thought of doing the full glass. however, that will mean "no interaction" between dining and kitchen. and no bar top. but i agree that it's the cheapest option. the only problem is the top part! if I seal it back, there are no matching tiles for the other side (inside the kitchen). How?? any suggestion? do you think that the sliding windows are worth saving? i thought that if can paint it brown, it will be quite nice?
-
Hi peeps. My resale flat has this window between the dining and kitchen area. Very ugly right!! The window is gray, the "bartop" is green, the kitchen cabinets are red-brown and the kitchen top is BABY BLUE!!! OMG! Anyway, please give me ur suggestions for the window. I cannot seal it due to 1. It makes dining room very dark 2. No matching tiles to patch up the other side (inside the kitchen) I cannot hack the entire thing away (open concept) due to 1. Want to air con the dining room. What i propose was 1. Paint the windows brown. Do you think it's possible? 2. Remove the circular carcass. Hack wall to make it rectangular 3. Replace the area with rectangular carcass and fit it with a piece of glass Do you think it's feasible? Lastly, the ugly green "bartop" Can we change the color? Paint over? I think most likely cannot right? Wonder if it can be removed? Can i replace with a nicer bar top like a wooden one? Any advice appreciated. Thanks. Lastly, what is the weird pole thing with a sphere on top at the left... been trying to figure it out. THanks....

okie peeps i got my 2nd quote yesterday... after reading this forum i actually thought that they will take SUPER long to get back to me. and i prepared to wait. anyway i am quite happy with the quote, feel that it is more reasonable as compared to IDs. but they quite fast leh. so now i am confused, how come what i am experiencing is different from other forummers. how come his treatment of customers not consistent meh? any comments on that? haha not that i am complaining. -
hi hi i have seen the matt effect. it just looks like unfinished wood. if u scared of scratches, then take matt. but it gives u a very "unfinished / unpolished" sort of look. my bedroom now is glossy. i can tell u that the scratches are horrible. if you cannot decide, go for semi-gloss. there is such a thing. how come ur ID never bring u down to see, how he expect u to decide without seeing!! also he should have offered you the option of semi-gloss, it is quite common. just my 2 cents worth, hope it helps.
