Bro, I'm also looking for a B&W system thinking of the 685 set w M1 rears n htm62 center No matter what you decide I suggest just go down to expertsgroup speak to kenny or whoever he will be able to quote a price you might b pleasantly surprised . I think you would want to spend on a prominent center speaker - very essential for theater. I doubt its too much more. Sub -well I think even if u save and go down to the asw610 I doubt you'd tell the big difference except the price savings IMHO of cos

Hi Vicenzo or anyone, IF I was looking at B&W MT25 and I was considering a slight upgrade what would I start with? Center speaker? to a higher model possibly HTM62 or Sub? to the 610, or obviously PV1(significant price diff) or could you recommend a Velodyne or SVS sub that might work well with this setup I ask only bcos I'm not sure if I have the space for 685,684 upwards hence considering Front/rears MT1s. Thanks!

Hi Vicenzo, I too am looking for gd HTS. will go check out but hope to have your recommendations too. 1. budget - 3- 4k if poss. 2. floor standers or sats - dsn matter too much of coz I appreciate the space savingness of the sats 3. Hi defor not - not sure I understand this 4. movies/music - prob more movies 80-20 5. size of livingrm - could be 4m by 3.5m but not sure how to set it up eg, how do u run the cables al the way to the rears and I fear screen might be too far so I may halve the length eg, position it 2.5m by 3.5m - cables run under rug to the rears. the balance of the room id jus put bookshelves or display cabinets. if its the 685s as fronts What would be the ideal package? amp, rears, sub, centre TV I may acquire a 50" plasma soon Thanks vicenzo or anyone who enjoys thinking up of HTS for given budget

well is a gd price i suppose for an EM .. i thats yr budget then i suppose ul learn to live with the constraints. for me i prefer to pay more for a location most suitable ie near mrt, near workplace etc Angel thanks for the input so far3, iv looked thru happy wolfie's thread and am quite inspired. as much as i think this old EM design is far from perfect, there ways of getting round it. Do you not miss a storeroom now hat uv got a 'foyer' instead? gonna start looking for contractors ... i miht check with happywolfies's since he's aready experienced in doing a few EMs -

angel can I ask if the foyer at yr place is there by default or you had to hack down walls ad did you consider hacking down lvl 1 washroom or know anyone who did anything lik that, if so how do they conceal the pipes. Thanks! -

Angel Kopi engaged Jason rite? is he a contractor or ID? Ill follow his thread cosely cos I think his is also similar floor plan as mine. Budget ah... not sure really if kopi approximated 60k hen looks like I might have to approx about there as I might hack quite a bit. Theres 20 yr old marble in the living room but I dun like the colour so either overlay with good laminates or hack n do up some nice marble/homo. Do you know anyone who knocked down level one washroom or the kitchen wall facing you as you enter main entrance or even the utility store room? I'm considering these options to open up the apartment a bit. mabe ill browse yr thread for ideas too. where do u hang yr laundry btw pnokio I thought can put polycoarbonate roof? Isnt coffeeo doing that? -

Hi guys, I may be a future EM owner soon.. gonna read thru the forums and find out how best to renovate my place. My priorites are to make it look as spacious as possible and introduce as much lighting(natural or otherwise) as possible as I find the old masionette design to be slightly dark. I'm extremely new here and to renovations so feel free to chime in with ideas if you can. I'm getting an EM in Tampines avenue 5(1985 design).. my first line of thinking is to see if I can hack any walls to make it look more spacious eg, utility room or kitchen walls. Next is to think about living room flooring . its old marble now possibly 1st owners' . thinking of hacking but undecided btw new marble vs laminates vs homo how much diff is the price? bedrooms prob laminates (currently carpeted), staircase also currently carpeted how do you guys position living room furniture and tv location? Thanks all
