i actually called up hdb regarding the fire-rated main door thingy cos mine is a corner unit, the guy said if main door is 2m from lifts or stairways then need to be fire-rated. but told him mine is like next to stairways cos corner unit mah.. he still said mine no need after i gave him my unit no, but he say hdb RECOMMENDS that houseowners use fire-rated main doors, then proceeded to tell me the advantages..

thanks coffee.. for us, the pull up section is for appliances or stuff that we might not use so often but need easier access to, so that kitchen top does not look too messy.. i bought the washer n dryer from parisilk on a bundle price.. can't remember how much right now sorry.. and m overseas.. will chk receipt when get bk home next week.. thanks.. ya lor, must clean periodically.. too bad not much of a view out of windows. must take close up of the windows for u guys to see how bad the condition is... bought brasso from home-fix, hopefully will work. my guest room is now filled with boxes.. only unpacked most of daily use clothes.. also trying to figure wat shud go where so utilise space properly.. place still needs a bit more touch ups here n there, so everytime i clean the floors, contractors come in, i hv to clean again after they leave.

mop quite good so far.. quite user friendly n it covers larger area so faster n easier to clean too lah.. u order thru the hogarmas website cheaper mah... they have another twister mop also, think shud be quite good too, slightly cheaper i think..

$320 for general cleaning of my place. supposed to be for 3-4hours but they spent a lot of time cleaning the windows (previous owner nvr clean them i think) so it took them nearly 5 hours to finish my place. like all cleaning svc, think hv to monitor them a bit bah.. i nvr hire cleaning svc b4 so dun really hv anything to benchmark them against.. but generally they were ok, to me anyways... and i asked them to mop the floors like twice..

ya i prefer the sleek design too... suggestion though.. for ur common bathroom, think the shelvings for ur toiletries is a low? cos my hubby's old place shampoo n stuff quite low also, troublesome to keep bending down to reach for stuff..
