ok up close of the blinds in the study.. also found my receipt. they didnt gimme a breakdown in the receipt but i noted it somewhere.. so here it goes.. initially for study n living room, we got the blinds that were 90% see through, so study - $245(2 panels) living room - $465(3 panels) common room - $456 (2 panels) - black out blinds (think its Australian made) MBR curtains -$496 (plus rod n eyelets) so total (rounded up) was $1600. but then hubby realized that for the study n living room blinds, its quite see-through from outside when we switched on lights at night.. so we went back to get new total black out ones.. and they charged us $900 for study n living room combined. so i cant really gv breakdown for that.. but the guy from jimmy textiles said he gv us a lot of discounts for the second purchase.. not sure how true cos we nvr really went scouting ard in the 1st place cos needed the blinds almost immediately b4 we moved in. (we ordered quite last min, told them was urgent but they were quite nice n obliging to get everything ready in about 1 week, of course after much persuasion..).. the blinds does not feel like those pvc types(which were cheaper) cos i dun like that feel.. hope this helps..

in living room each panel is about 162cm.. in study, its abt 132cm per panel.. so think they will hv to measure ur windows then see how many panels u need leh.. also think diff range of blinds has diff max length.. so that would dictate how many panels also..

thanks.. hvnt been updating for awhile cos still unpacking (really slowly).. can only post more after finish unpacking.. so messy.. haha.. pretty much white most of the house.. good thing hubby helps me to clean up ard the house, if not think will go crazy wif all the cleaning in such a big place.. hows the progress at ur place? lolx.. notti leh u.. actually the white solid top in kitchen, cant really see dust, can only see on my black glass hob.. so its actually pretty easy maintenance leh.. but then i dun cook much so i guess still ok bah..

ok now some feedback on my ID.. first off, think ID is quite responsible n hardworking. everytime we call or email her abt something she would reply quite fast. HO was delayed by only less than a week, which we are quite thankful for.. also final bill from her was a little over our initial budget but cos we added a few things here n there along the way, i think it was still reasonable.. oh n ID threw in a few stuff FOC which i think is a norm wif IDs anyways but still appreciated.. (especially quite a bit of power sockets).. our initial brief to her was we wanted a minimalist concept so everything is pretty much simple.. but when we did enquire wif her abt concepts like industrial (or a little out of the norm), think that she is not that familiar (or will be comfortable to do a project in that).. from dealings wif her, think she will very good candidate if reno concept is modern contemporary, zen, resort-balinese type, the more common concepts.. anyways, only carpentry we needed ware WIW, kitchen, study table n tv console.. so we didnt really require 3D, but she did show us perspective drawings of all the carpentry. we pretty much left to her to organize most of the things (cos that was why we hired an ID in the 1st place, cos we didnt have the time to monitor).. tiles designs we chose but left to her to lay in watever way she thinks is good for the toilets.. so we didnt have to worry much during the whole reno cos she was pretty reliable n she kept us informed whenever needed.. but the only thing i have to gripe abt is that there seemed a lot of small details that shud hv been noticed by her ( i think) b4 she HO to us.. some things i understand that owners wud only noticed once moved in but certain things like the carpentry, she shud hv kept a closer eye especially when its done inhouse. eg is quite a number of top shelves in the WIW n kitchen has some scratches n painted over to hide the defects.. but then again i cant expect her to climb up to chk every shelvings. maybe things like how the painters nvr really tape edges b4 they paint, so can actually see some paints on the switches, shud have been caught by her instead of us telling her.. so my guess is cos we wanted to move in almost immediately after the reno finished that she didnt really hv the time to QC b4 HO.. but the one thing i really appreciated is that even after we paid full on HO day, a couple of weeks later when we compiled a (long) list of rectifications, she got all her sub-cons to come all on the same day to rectify everything.. so m very pleased wif her after sales svc.. she still came up to monitor her sub-cons when they did the touch-ups. so all in all i would say it was a good experience wif our ID during the whole reno.. oh n some of our rectifications had to do wif the toilet, kitchen n lightings.. ID brought us to the shops to get them. i understand that it wud have been slightly more expensive than me walking in the shops to get them (cos ID wud hv earned a cut too) but good point is from that is that my ID arranged wif Heritage n Vlux to come down to take a look at wats wrong too.. n they were quite good in replacing watever defects (eventhough some i think is not really their fault cos think it was caused by the sub-cons after the things were installed) - no questions asked.. thumbs up also for my laminates guy from Inovar.. they provided quite good after sales service too.. had them come up twice (after i paid full) to redo skirtings n t-bar - no questions asked too..

living room have 2 sets of roller blinds black-out.. 90% see through common room also black-out blinds but room too many boxes, so diff to take pics of the blinds... all from Jimmy Textiles.. they are quite professional i think..

haha... very nice decals.. ya dun think abt it anymore.. my wall now also in patches cos plaster guy jz did replastering so now hv to wait for it to dry b4 can paint over.. wat i heard abt paint tt comes off like tt is cos they diluted the paint thats why comes off easily.. some of my paint on my new wall turned powdery but the painter said its cos when painted the 1st coat of paint, the plaster not dried yet, tts why it became like tt.. asked a lot of 'whys' from the subcons jz now when they came to touch up my place..

my windows also as old as ur flat leh.. abt 15yrs, we also didnt chg cos of budget.. the windows jz has a lot of stains (dunno wat previous owner did) jz need to give them another good clean.. (soon) prob diy painting on the metal parts.. but so far its hiding behind our curtains n blinds so still ok.. our ID jz chg the glass part of the windows for the toilets n the balcony area cos she say too dirty to clean..lol
-
i also leh.. still living out f boxes now cos dun hv time to really unpack.. i hv leave in feb so hopefully will finish everything then.. my husband is the opposite or urs leh.. he is the one actually buying color coordinated stuff.. alot of stuff in kitchen n common toilet is green.. lol..

heh.. thanks.. er, not sure how thick the laminates are but it is either from lamitak or edl.. was choosing from so many tt i cant remember.. also ID didnt caution me abt the wavy effects so i guess she was pretty confident abt the brands.. second appt coming up soon hor.. bet u cant wait..
-
hi SGK as promised, tried to take some pics to show u my glossy white laminates.. but its a bit hard to see.. but like i said - dun see any unevenness as yet.. with camera flash.. can see from reflections, its quite smooth.. hope this helps put ur fears aside..
-
did u do plastering on the wall? cos my painted wall bubbled n 'popped out' too but due to plastering tt we did cos of rock stone previous owner had... so we had to scrap off the whole section n replaster n repaint.. sianz.. now another wall also starting to crack n bubble, its from my sealed up entrance.. hubby say it usually happens on new sealed up walls cos it needs time to settle.. dunno if he's jz making me feel betta.. but sub-cons coming to fix everything tmr.. but after HO and cleaning usually can see more small little things here n there to rectify i think.. hope everything goes well for u..
-
ur place looking good.. ya i had a long list for ID to rectify too.. so urs is actually quite ok compared to mine.. but i think we are kinda 'ngiao'... hubby is the type who will lie on the floor to look under the tv console to see if everything's done well.. climb to check the top shelves to see the boards are ok.. maybe that's why there's a long list of rectifications...

ya my hubby called open net too but they were no help n our installation is scheduled from mar-may... but ID said she'll figure something out when the time comes.. so, fingers crossed..
