1 Big Family...parents And In-law......together @ 1 Table
tingshen replied to ckoonyin's topic in Wedding & Travel
depending on the total numbers of people lar. if both sides all add up together < 10 people, then all sit in 1 table lor. But if both sides got more than 1 tables, some even more than 2 tables, then you classify them by "level" liaoz... parents all 1 table. the eldest siblings sit together in the VIP table. Then the rest distribute evenly on the 2nd or 3rd VIP tables lor. -

LCD or Plasma TV
tingshen replied to sakae sushi's topic in Sound and Vision -Home Theatre Systems & Audiophiles
previous generations of Plasma are suffering from serious image retention problem, and eventually may become burnt mark. However, newer generation, especially with pixel shift functions, may not have such problem for game play. Just enjoy you games I wouldn't want my eyes to compromise picture quality by going LCD hee......for anything. I am not too sure which part to adjust, can check out the manual lor. I dun own an LG. But then, there should be some color adjustment in your menu one. Going service menu maybe too technical for most of us. But if you want to give it a try, at your own risk, press the Menu button on your TV and menu on your remote at the same time for a few seconds. Service menu will pop out. -
no lar, first year 100%, 5th year 20%, I claimed mine when my laptop was stolen on the 5th year.....but then, you only get back their vouchers. Beware that Best Denki stuff are always super overpriced.....The voucher could just be able to cover up what you paid for the SAFETY5 at the first place..... If you do some research on Plasma TV price, you will realize non-HN,BD,Courts kind of shops would offer you so much cheaper.....

LCD or Plasma TV

for small screen, i think mostly on LCD, i'm talking about 26", 32" etc. for 42", 50" and 63" and above, most people still go for Plasma. PQ unbeatable..... anyway, both LG and Samsung has richer color, you can adjust it through the service menu or advanced option if necessary. Samsung is less saturated compared to LG..... -
LCD or Plasma TV
tingshen replied to sakae sushi's topic in Sound and Vision -Home Theatre Systems & Audiophiles
it depends. If you want to use a TV like a monitor, then just get an LCD. If you're sitting quite far away, Plasma has much superior PQ compared to LCD, especially SD. anyway, different plasma TV has different PC support level. not all Plasma can support your PC input full screen, especially those HD-ready plasma. I am not sure if you can use a VGA->Component converter to fill up the whole screen, by theory, you can. -
I thought mio plan still require you to register a residential phone line which cost about $24+ every 3 months?

i beg to differ....check this out..... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...cTODAY.m238.lVI shipping not more than USD50, so total cost still lower than what's being sold on the street here.....and those pirated version is not as good leh....from the demo i saw.

time machine is pretty old model. dun think it just launched Q3 2007. try giving HongLiang a try. they sure can match your price one. My friend got from their HQ - Maximum Credit at good cash price, and top up another 4% for 24 months 0% installment. I doubt Audio House can match this kind of pricing. -
why no budget? just buy from the states lor. cheap cheap!

no idea, but it's definitely more expensive than Panasonic's PV70. the comparable model with Panasonic one is C91. Q91 is a more superior model. But bare in mind that none of the 42" Samsung Plasma support 1080p but only up to 1080i. -
wait a minute. Where is the Internet input??!! without that how do you share everything?

Plasma for sure. if you're looking for 42", do give Samsung Q91 a try. if 50", then P91. -

yes, SCV is sending PAL signal, so 576i. 42" wide screen is not meant for such thing. Even if it's reduced, at least the picture is natural looking. that should give you 34" viewable area. Dun you think it's almost among the biggest CRT screen we had last time? (The biggest CRT I heard was 36" and 40") For me, my P9 is 50", so 4:3 will give me about 40" Once you pass the break in period, depending on your brand also lar, newer generation Plasma should not have that burn mark problem due to the 4:3 settings, especially when you have gray color instead of black color side bars. if you still dun feel comfortable, do a white wash every time you finish watching the SD lor. -

higher temperature usually due to higher power consumption. is it becoz you're stretching the 4:3 576i images on a 16:9 screen? You shall run it on 4:3 ratio, then everything will look normal. some examples I saw from other forums: original ratio 4:3 stretched 4:3 over 16:9 widescreen both me and my wife can't stand the 2nd output. It's like torturing your eyes..... make sure you leave the side bars as min light gray and never black , if not your plasma may have burnt mark easily. -

oh, you meant popularity ah, I think Panasonic is the HOTTEST now lor, coz of the freebies they give. If you like the color of LG and dun find it oversaturated, i think quite a good choice but i notice the images are slightly stretched compared to other brands. if you do watch a lot of SD and 1080p doesn't bother you, do seriously consider Samsung 42Q9, I think it has very good SD output. Natural Color, sharp images.....
