  1. OMG!! is that kronotex? more like workmanship problem.....
  2. $80-100 so cheap? my contractor charge me $150, but that includes the labour for sealing up the whole floor lah
  3. i think still can lah, but chances are slim...... this is what we are going to choose from Scanteak....the timeless collection: the cushion cover is fabric and very UK feel, heard they imported from UK to make the cushion cover. Hope to have alternatives rather than this...... the space below is good as I can use a robot to clean the whole house without moving any furnitures
  4. I meant do chemical wash on the floor lah, or shall I wait til painting finished then ask him to do? shall I put cardboard during painting? my skirting are not up yet, after laminate flooring then up together with the laminate skirting.
  5. wah like that ah, then i need to ask my contractor to do chemical wash first hoh? luckily no skirting installed, will be using laminate skirting kamsia, everybody!
  6. when is it coming? uhm....ours is more towards the UK style, so far only 1 of the Sofa from Scanteak suit our theme, gotta be careful while choosing all these, or else will look like non-chinese house liao..... btw, when is the indonesian fair?
  7. yah, this kind of flooring is very cooling, dun think I can get such thing anymore.......
  8. hi all, just wondering how shall I get started if I want to DIY painting a brand new flat? I noticed the walls has a layer of powder, everytime I touch it, my fingers will gets those white powder. Do we need to wash the wall first or something like that? and why do you need to dilute the paint with water? I was told by both Nippon and ICI that we shall not add water to the water base paint, especially the top end one, $60 per 10l can type.
  9. wow FSP, is your floor marble??? looks impressive menz!
  10. places that's able to produce similar or better quality teak based furnitures like Scanteak, any recommendation? I dun mind those factory based supplier lah, as long as the workmanship is good, able to come out the design we want, I'm fine with it!
  11. any picture of the sofa and mattress you bought? uhm.....$2K for a mattress is a bit overkill......sometimes you're just paying for the brand only...
  12. of course cannot take home lah aiyo..... my encounter for most ID, they do 3D or hand drawing for perspective view at 1 or 2 most important area to you. Then they will show you full quotation, if you're happy then commit lor. Once I paid the $1K, they will do full design, with sample material board done.
  13. it's quite subjective lor. we had a pretty long discussion and she showed us our foyer area design during 2nd meeting, before we commit anything for her to show us the rest of the design.
  14. any feedback for Healsio ? Microwave = no good for health for sure.....
  15. I am wondering if I shall use it for my main entrance, wah.....buy 3 in 1 go! your house got many "Strangers"?? also scared if people would cut off your finger to scan it just to get access...... vein scanning is much more accurate and they won't cut off your finger lol!
  16. close ups for the uneven tiles......there are at least 23 of them......out of 100+ tiles. Uneven rate is as high as 20%, what a reputable company.....Hafary.......really disappointed with their QC....
  17. any idea how much would it cost? passed by ParkMall yesterday and saw a biometric lock cost as much as $1K wow!
  18. perhaps warp is not the right words to use. The tiles are indeed not flat and the contractor never reject them ... sigh.
  19. Panasonic confirmed that what they printed on the broucher is correct. That aircon man huh.....sibeh old fashion menz....
  20. Pass by Celinni at ParkMall, love the Glide sofa very much, but it's not in their homepage, think it's a new model, it's similar to this model: but the sides are with wooden trimming, much nicer, and all can be put in "reclining mode", can pull until 180 degree flat one..... However, the part behind quite ugly leh, they left a big hole at the bottom...dunno why they didn't cover it. thinking of getting the design and just ask those sungai kadut furniture factory to customade for me, cheaper right? haha...and can ask them to cover the back "holes"...... Do you think I can ask celinni to cover that? then I dun mind to take from them....but saw some unpleasant experience between some of the forumers and them, is Celinni really that bad? another thing is about the padding, is there a need to have spring? would high density foam sink after 2-5 years? or a combi of them is better?
  21. what do you meant? swatdila, their inverter model is only up to 15KBtu/h. I just received a call from one of the aircon man, he told me the 24KBtu/h inverter is coming out, not sure how true is it. Going to contact panasonic again to double confirm. inverters are freaking expensive!! anyway, envio model has nothing to do with inverter, it's their e-ion feature with patrol function. Suggest you go and get the catalogue to find out more. I think it is more power savings and quieter compared to similar models from other brands.
  22. suggest you pay a bit more for the panasonic envio series. !! save electricity and better air purifier, can on 24/7, taking 2 point something watt only.
  23. Our contractor was introduced by mother in law, that's why very tough decision..... The beginning was very good, about 25-30% of the tiles were perfectly done. But right after that line, I spotted about 48 uneven area, I will take some pictures together with 5 cent coin to show the level of warp. Our tiles cost $3.8psf and we are charged about $3K to cover area like this: *the bomb shelter area is tiled too. Shall I straight away ask my contractor to redo (hack all and re-tile everything) or ask Hafary down to inspect the QC of the tiles first?
  24. power dokor is $3.8 psf, so your ID is earning you extra $0.2 psf my ID for laminate flooring and closet is closet designs, Michael didn't earn from us for laminate flooring But we went down to power dekor direct to choose the pattern we like. then he will be doing the arrangement for installation etc.
