Oh just saw the questions CJG, sorry I took so long to reply. I feel that it is quite heavy when I try to slide and there are a few of my guests who bang into the glass door because they thought there is nothing in front of it. Rather guilty about it I will post a picture of the glass wall with the hidden tracks. Let me go and find my camera.

Hi crimlock, Depending on the date you want to hold your ROM, I think you can file for notice 3 months before your intended date of marriage. After filing for notice, the earliest and latest date you may solemnize your marriage is after expiration of 21 days and before expiration of 3 months respectively. If you want to hold your solemnization at the ROM, you can check out the available dates here at the Registry of Marriages website.

Hi CJG, I have a glass swing door as my kitchen door and a sliding glass door for the study room. For me I prefer the top hung sliding door because it does not take additonal space to stay open. The contractor uses a false board on top because the glass cannot go all the way up to the ceiling(limited height of glass). It also hides all the tracks. Another thing is that you can have a big entrance too Swing door ...i recommend tat u decide one either push or pull only because I feel the hinges may wear out more easily..

Err..somewhere in balestier..dun remember the address cos many shops over there. For bedroom lights I think roughly the range quite the same. I think its up to individual taste. Actually last time I went to the one of the lighting shops opposite Chinese garden MRT..same location that jennytansc mentioned. In my opinion,I prefer the range of lights there because they are quite cheap and much wider in variety. Some of the lights there quite unique and nice. Aiya I actually forgotten about it when I was sourcing for lights.

For me, master bedroom is maroon/purple color. The other bedroom is I think is Dulux all-in-1 barley blue and another rm is citron ice. Some thing I notice...I saw my storeroom when they were painting...There is 1 or 2 cans of emulsion. Then the paints tat we chose are all small little tins. Are they mixing and diluting the paint?

I think Balestier lighting is having a promotion now. The square PLC OSRAM 13watts light is $12.80 each. I got my dining light at Designers Lighting pte ltd. Price quite reasonable.

Rosicky is right. HDB changes alot of rules in last year already. I too invested in my CPF 2 years ago and when I bought a HDB flat, they cleared all my CPF (felt very poor) . So at least I got back up CPF in my investment which is maturing.. so touch wood if I lose my job, the investment $$ can tie me for a while.

Common defects to check for in new flats
Mery replied to Kenshin11's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
haha yap some blocks the color really cannot make it. But everywhere you see in Singapore are rows and rows of boring flats. They should come up with some creativity like with a theme maybe like castle theme and build the flat in that way, the pirates..maybe build the flat in such structure, new york theme, KIT KAT chocolate box (soemmore can earn advertising). Just like Las Vegas Hotels ..This way SIngapore looks much more interesting and we can find the blocks more easily also.
