  1. Hi dannywmp, That's a good point! No worry this forum has to be frank and straight forward haha. Don't think that's mean just by sharing the real thoughts that care ; ) Guess will explore Wall Decal with reflection effect, reflective laminates on cabinets etc.. Anymore type to suggest?
  2. By the way, I just notice you mention "mirrow wall decal " ! ; ) Er.. must be my sleep mode kick in thus didn't really digest the whole sentence ..paiseh. Yeah that's great idea.. I don't have to worry 'breakable' effect.. So you have any clue where to get "mirrow wall decal " in SG esp the whole big piece to cover the big wall. This will be v v useful. V grateful ; )

  4. Hmm.. Trying to visualized ; ) Sound very much like DIY leh.. What kind of material for this protective layer har? where to buy? Think I can and will do the "cover it with a protective layer. " to prevent trapped dirt .. as for the creative part.. err.. in freehand??my hand is trembling...unless the "glued patterns or shapes " can be purchased from the market.. that's different story leh.. Your mirror .. you intent to install direct on the physical wall ( the brick wall)?

  8. solid top vs granite "Kitchen 1 To supply and install 27ft laminated kitchen cabinet c/w ABS trimming $3,240.00 2 To supply and install 12ft solid top/granite $1,200.00 3 To supply and install 8ft laminated kitchen cabinet c/w ABS trimming (dry area) $960.00 4 To supply and install 4ft solid top/granite or convert to full height (for accommodate of oven, slow cooker, juicer and rice cooker) $400.00 " Realised that Solid Top and Granite Top the same price? All along I a have the impression that Granite is much more expensive than Solid Top .. hmm.. is this real or it's actually Granite pricing just want to influence you to take this option? So even one chose Solid Top one has to pay for Granite pricing?? How do you find the above pricing from line 1 to 4? Anyone pls share and advise ; )

Singapore website still lagging behind..haiz.. Also never respond to my queries submitted via their online form.. Any good deals there? I am interested in Water heater, Oven .. what else City Gas have har? City Gas emphasis that Gas cheaper than Electricity..
  12. Mirror Hmm.. I am going to have big mirror in the dining area!! This is to brighten the place since there's no windows for both living area that lead to dining area, except a small balcony, the only place where the natural light and air can flow in. The mirror will be on the surface of built in feature wall that conceal the storeroom. So instead of wall paper or laminate material on this feature wall, it's a whole big piece of mirror. In Feng Shui wise it's good as it multiply the abundance of the food in dining area, create a spacious, bright, clean cut look and feel. I love the feel too when I visit those showrooms with mirror. It'll be my first time to have such in the house. Wow! Dreaming of that. But then family always question the practicality, when the whole family stay in the house, the movement/traffic ie the walkway will be quite narrow, the kids, the action of carrying things in and out of storeroom esp bulky, heavy, big items. Even shifting in the furnitures before we stay in.. the moving of furnitures pieces to bedrooms, fridge to the kitchen etc will have to pass through the this mirror section of walkway..high risk of accidently knock at the mirror. And all these items high chances is to bring in after the renovation done up. A bit concern if the big mirror can last for at least 5 yrs.. as it's near the store room.. there will lots of things shift in and out. Kind of concern if one day some accident knock, the mirror will crack or broken. So if this really happened then, what will that mean to my built in feature wall ie tear down and reconstruct? That will be tough.. but one cannot keep broken mirror!! Anyone who has installed mirror can advise and share the experience?
  13. Hi Supersimon27, Where will be the venue for such promotion? Is it also in Courts? : ) Regards, Doremon2009
  14. Received : ) Kind of neat and organised ; ) Very useful. Will have to think and discuss what my family really need and want for the new house.
  15. Hi All, I am also planning to buy aircon. ie 4 aircons, 1 compressor.. so is that call sys 4? Went to IMM this evening, found out only 2 brands has non-inverter ie Daikin and LG. Also went to Gain City in IMM, but too many customers and very few salesperson.. standing and strolling there for 20mins.. still cannot get any salesperson to talk to.. was too hungry so give up and adjour for dinner and return home in the end. Actually I don't mind purchase inverter if the price diff with non-inverter is not too far. Afterall, we don't on aircon so often so if the price difference is so great, of course should buy the non-inverter. Anyone know of any event/aircon promo coming out soon? Will appreciate the sharing ; ) I don't mind pool up kakis and we order together if that really can get good deal and service. If price is good then I can afford 1 more aircon for my dining area ; ) Let me know. Thanks, Doremon2009.
  16. Hi Deremi, Just wish to check with you about your experience in purchases from Gain City.. How long ago you'd purchased from Gain City? Have you use the items you purchased? How do you find the product they delivered ,price and the services? Is it really what you see and what you get the brand new set in the end? ie they will not send inferior pdt such as display set? (heard that display set usually spoil easily) Do you purchased first, paid in deposit then tell them the date of delivery once your house done up? I usually travel alot so may not have the time so shop around happen to find the website of Gain City and I can order items from online.. ie, fridge, oven, aircon, etc. I plan to order all my new house items from there but concern about the above pointers .. Looking forward for your soonest reply and advise ; ) Doremon2009 trufaole@gmail.com

  18. Hi dannywmp, Thanks for your sharing ; ) I planned for sufficient time for very good quality full reno. ie 3months Just things doesn't come out the way one planned. Esp now dealing with HDB rectification.. always have to chase, push then the do. Already stress and tired. Seems like I have to cut down lots of custom made cabinets, chose those swift way ie buy off the shelf after we shift in to shorten the reno period. Renovators I spoken too, shared that 3-4weeks is rush, requesting for 8weeks!! You know what when we sold the old house, the agent keep saying new house from HDB 3-4 weeks to do reno is the norm.No need so long etc.. Again the 'savy' agent is again misrepresenting and misleading.. ; ( Yes you are right, to move things forward and console myself is think about the dream house ; )
  19. Hi newnyew, How's your insurance claim ? Successful ? : ) By the way, can share the process/stage of the parquet done up for your place? ie how long it takes from the day the parquet materials sent to your house to the parquet flooring done up as in move in condition. ie #bedrooms, how long they take. So if floor already done up cement screed, still need to directly pour glue n overlay? What to they need to do? The amount paid to the contractor that did the installation of parquet is roughly how much? your appointed renovator and parquet contractor whom do the laying the parquet flooring can work harmony ar? Love to hear your sharing soon ; ) You can chose to PM me too. Thanks! Doremon2009 trufaole@gmail.com
  20. Well, have checked around.. Here's the conclusion.. It's ok that HDB do the cement screed first for all the bedrooms that required wooden flooring. No need to wait till the floor tiles area like living/dining,passage areas done up first. However, the wooden flooring area can only do after the tile areas are done up. For wooden flooring wise.. the laminate will take shorter time to complete as compare to parquet flooring. But not sure why parquet flooring take longer leh?? Heard that it will need at least 2-3 weeks. Not really about the stages for parquet though seems like need to leave it for 1 week to ensure the setting is proper before polishing then it considered done.. For laminate 1 day can complete and done.
  21. This is the Balcony Overview. New unit direct from HDB. Built >10yrs ago. Whole block seems like there are still units unsold. Not sure if HDB also release those in the market for balloting.. Note that the flooring is 'raw'. There are 2 pics of others how they do the balcony ie window, grill, iron wrought.. I find the iron wrought open concept seems better. Any other options?? hmm.. ideas and advise are welcome ; )
  22. Hi red_devil, My new house flooring are 'raw' meaning it's not done at all..except the service balcony, common toilet and master toilet. That means there will be no overlaying of tiles. : ) So does that means that levelling should not be an issue if cement screed done first?
  23. Hi , Very sorry to hijack this blog track.. as seems like difficult to get you.. your message box is full when I PM you.. and seems this is the lastest blog I can trace you.. Oops! Mine are all about oven.. : - You are so lucky manage to buy LaGermania in Citygas.. now think LaGermania not easy to find in SG right? I just get my new house. Yet to decide whether to buy a built in oven or not. Thought Table top oven will be more convenient but not sure if it can meet our needs. But need to decide very soon already cos reno will be affected by our decision if built in oven or standing oven, the kitchen cabinet measurement and plan will be different.. Me newbie in Oven and bakery world..don't know what to do now.. Our family cook alot, heavy cooking, cook everyday. Never own an oven before.. in this new house, family finally decided to get Oven!! Yippy!!! More good food to forward for.. Been to Phoon Huat Bakery once for the class and I love it!! ; ) My this new oven will be using it to bake & grill meat, fish, and bake cake, cookies, etc. Can use to grill/bake/roast whole duck/chicken and use to bake medium size cake... may also use to bake bread? May bake medium size Turkey during X'mas. Don't like microwave type.. we donate out the last time. Leen, has read some of your blog on bakery and oven .. , honestly yet to have time to finish all yet.. Kind of like your sharing there ; ) Hereby would like to seek your sharing of experience and advise what other brand and model to chose if really cant find LaGermania brand .. Looking forward for your soonest reply. You may reply in my T blog http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?sh...;hl=doremon2009 or PM/email me ; ) Thanks! Doremon2009 trufaole@gmail.com
