Hi..I think you mean GU5.3, this is the most common socket for MR16. You can PM me on our available range of MR16 LED. For a new downlight fitting, I would recommend a dedicated LED downlight with driver. It works better and is more reliable. Cheers

Hi, we have been selling T8 LED tubes which are more popular. If you need T5 Led tubes, please PM me. LED tubes will cost much more than fluorescent tubes. Key Advantage is lower energy cost and last much longer. Cheers

Yes, MR16 LED brightness is not the same as halogen. It depends on what are you using it for. If it is just to focus on a small area and work as spot light, a 5W MR16 LED shd be sufficient. To replace a 50W halogen ideally, a 10W LED is sufficient. But a 10W LED is very expensive. A cheaper alternative is the 5W LED and you only pay 10% of the energy consumed compared to halogen.

Hi, if your normal fluorescent is those 2 feet and 4 feet length, you can replace easily with LED tubes. No problem at all. I am using it now, jus remove the starter and replace the tube. LED tube does not need starter. If yours is a circular fluorescent tube, I do not think there is a round LED tube in the market now. Cheers. -

For LED MR16, there is no concern on fitting problem if you are using halogen in the first place. The base is GU5.3. So you just have to remove the halogen bulb, and put in the LED MR16. Its that easy. A typical 5W MR16 LED can replace a 25W halogen. Thats about 80% energy savings. You can see the $$$ saving especially you turn it on for 8 hours or more a day. -

Yes, i sell LED lightings like T10 tubes, MR16 and downlights. Our market is industrial and commercial premises. I see those lighting shops prices are quite high. So I do not mind selling to some residential buyers to increase awareness and benefits of LED lightings. However I must emphasize the initial costs are much higher than conventional tubes or bulbs. In the mid to long term, you will save on bulbs replacement and energy saving costs. -

gensemi replied to pika's topic in Electronics & Electricals
I suggest you get LED downlights. No humming sound. Good for Energy saving but you have to pay much more initially. -
I think it is not advisable as it will not be bright enough. Best is to use LED downlight.

We have a range of LED lighting products...MR16, downlights, T10 tubes, Floodlights, etc.... Price is indeed on the high side compared to those conventional light sources. Good quality LED products should not break down easily, easily can last 20,000 hours and more. So in the long run, you can recover your initial capital costs through energy savings and bulbs replacement. LED MR16 5W type can really save a lot of power as compared to traditional halogen 25W type. High quality type can even replace 50W type. If you use it for 8hrs per day, can really save a lot of money.
