if budget is an issue..then u can only do blackout..

Day curtains are good for letting in a little bit of light into the room, or taking a nap. I prefer to have both, blackout for total darkness as well.

Should I Still Get Non-inverter Aircond?
DarthRevan replied to machineoperator's topic in Electronics & Electricals
Non-inverter air conditioners will not be phased out before 2016, so no worries about obsolescence. R22 refrigerant will continue to be used until 2040. But using R410A(inverter) is greener & save the environment, so let's do our part for the environment. -
Every property whether rental or sale..the agents sure say it's a good deal..they just want to close the deal..wouldn't be bothered about the clients after that.

Ps Cafe
DarthRevan replied to alanthia's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
I read in an article last year that the 3 owners themselves contributed most of the ideas for the cafe, probably the designer is just integrating the ideas & implementing them. -
Mansionette Owner

Yup..they are very punctual...7.30am zhunzhun will "start talking" at the roof, usually 2 or 3 of mynas together keep chirping. On normal working days is okay, but for weekends when not working, it's irritating! -
Crack Lines On The Wall
DarthRevan replied to wuga98's topic in Landed & Condo Private Properties Renovation Discussion
My wall also got this problem. How does this "n" thing look like? Any picture? -
If it is an inverter unit, when your tenant turn on the air-con, the rest of the FCUs should be turned on too to maximise the usage, then everyone will benefit. I'm no expert but $50 is more than enough to cover the bill. Just sharing my experience, my household have 6 persons & air-con is turn on 18 hours, with 3 TVs & a giant fridge & 4 computers & many appliances, the bill came out to be less than $300 every month.

Oct 2009 Sale Of Balance Flats
DarthRevan replied to livialw's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
i think its the timing issue. In 2001, can easily get unwanted units @ Punggol..4 rm premium for $130+k, and its a walk-in, no one wants those units. In 2005/2006, plenty of resale available for no COV or even sell below valuation, yet many flats took months to sell. i believe planning is the key to getting a flat. as the saying goes "no one plans to fail, but everyone fails to plan". -
How Much To Pay For Half Length Mirror With Frames?
DarthRevan replied to flyingballoons's topic in Home Furnishings
I've used their services before, did 5 mirrors in the house. Excellent workmanship & service. -
I am currently using Ikea Furniture...and they do show signs of breakdown after about 3 years of usage. Have to factor in replacement cost & time wasted in buying new ones. So next time I will be thinking of getting a carpenter instead.

Reno For Landed
DarthRevan replied to wind30's topic in Landed & Condo Private Properties Renovation Discussion
Congrats to you! I heard & seen for myself that laminated flooring tends to "pop out" after a while...perhaps due to water or seepage. Is Timber flooring similar to parquet? -

Hi scenic98, what's a good & similar replacement for parquet? Thanks!
