hi, advise not to use the battery-operated type as the battery will run out and u've got to replace it. even if the bell is not used frequently, it's kinda of a hassle. my current flat is using this type one and i regret it. for my new flat, i'll be going for those connected to the electrical wires one. but, maybe the model now is better so it's up to u
