Too late to see your reply. Lucky for me is that they did test after installation and left it for a few days for me to be free to do an acceptance and final payment. Identified a faulty connection for gas on the day of acceptance and they resolved it before I came back.

Some how, I must be one of the luckier ones. As my reno is almost finish. Has been some hiccups but resolved well by ID. Will wait to see if any hidden costs pop up at final payment and handing over. -
Have ordered a storage bed from their Tanjong Katong shop. Very good sales guy whom had listened and offered us a solution to meet our needs. Buying experience good. Waiting for the delivery to see if it is a complete service that is good.

The team of carpenters replaced the wrongly designed kitchen cabinets in question and it looked much better. Both Carpenter boss and ID, thumbs up to them for correcting the design. People make mistakes, just admit it, correct and move on. -
Mine is a little more complex as hacking needed to conceal pipes required. Costs is higher as 2 compressors to 4 units. So cannot compare. I think Starmex is a little higher than Toshiba. You may want to check out other retailers to compare prices. But take note of the insulation they used which has some bearing to costs. I am using 3/4" thickness insulation, instead of 1/2" due to the concealed pipes.

Previous day Meeting with ID, the carpenter boss and workers. They agreed to take down the kitchen cabinets and redo the sections in question. Quite reasonably solved. Other cabinets are ok as far as I can see. This morning went up to see, and they have removed the sections in the kitchen as discussed one section replaced and look much better now. Living, bedrooms more or less completed. Progressing quite well as glass works have started coming in too. My ID is earnestly trying to get everything done up within the deadline. -
Atlantic just informed me that the Toshiba units are not in stock now. Expecting early December to complete fixing up. Anyone have such experience with aircon companies on Toshiba???

I am using them for my reno. Quotation wise competitive non negotiable. On timing and team, you will need to coordinate closely with the team that is sent to your place on the morning of the job. So far, they have been prompt on site for survey and pipings. Had fix pipes and wiring. A/C blower still not yet as the rest of reno has not yet been completed. . Shall be fixing the blowers next week.

Carpentry stuff was sent to my apartment and only saw it in the evening without lights. Something looks wrong!!!! Call my designer and will have him in to verify. My very small kitchen will have very small cabinets with very large "BONE Structures to hold VERY HEAVY ITEMS". Very different from what I have asked and no corner folding doors at the corner cabinets top and bottom. Instead dead end boxes with strange upper and lower doors. Like splitting a 2 ft section into 2 cabinets structure with a central large 4 to 5 cm bone due to 2 stuctures joining. What a design. As if MY CABINET is a full 4ft 1.2m long type needing reinforcement. Seems ID and carpenter totally wrong key. Will see what he say after meeting him on site today. Shall update. -
Tilings, partition and false ceilings done. Parquet has been completed with sanding and varbish 11days after laying. I must say it looks nice after the sanding and varnishing. Only problem is that I did not realise HauHau overestimated the parquet I needed for me by more than 15% and now I have 1.5 boxes of parquet fully paid for sitting and they will not take it back. So for those of you whom had intention to buy your own parquet do take note of the estimated quantity needed. Will try to post picture soon. Expecting wardrobes and kitchen to be in next 10days.

Whew, looks like I am still quite lucky. Have been very busy and did not update my t-blog. The work has been smooth so far for me. I have some differences in ideas on the way the partion and ceilings turn out and my ID was able to adapt and came up with solutions that worked for me. THe place is beginning to take the form even though still in a mess. Furniture measurements are done and waiting for the installation within the next 1-2 weeks. Then will get the aircon to come in to install blowers once the electrician come in to fix up the switches. -

Have been really busy and no time to update here or T Blog. Tiling, conceal piping done. Electrical partly done. Parquet laid waiting for sanding and varnish. False ceiling this week. So far there has been a slight delay of about 1 week as the plumber guy was sick so held up the tiling. But other than first week hickup, so far so good. -
Depending on what you want to do. "Brushed effect" takes some skill. The gold paint is tricky and takes some effort. It is essential to let each coat dries well before applying the next coat.

Hmm, I think if we want the ID to really supervise, it has not happened with mine too. He had however been up at my place when there are details needing him to be on site and he write them down on the walls for the hacking, tilings. I too had to ask the tiler to put the new wall to a slightly different dimensions than the ID had told them... A wall concealed drain pipe is still not fixed and also waiting for Town Gas to repair a damaged pipe during hacking, supposedly this coming week. 3D, I did not see it until after the completion of hacking almost 10days after start of reno. We started reno with a basic layout design. No 3Ds. I will have to say, their 3D drawings are not proportionate. As I had the vision and concept of what I wanted, it was easy to spot the failure of their artists to put into their 3D drawings to proportionate scale. Although the argument that it is not an architect drawing, it should still have a good proportion in zooming out and zooming in. The 2 positon visualization points in 3D drawings do get out of proportion. But care is needed to ensure basic dimension of the "main flat feature" should be correct and the sides get zoomed out proportionately.. from a perspective position. Sorry for the comments to my ID but the conceptualisation is quite off I told him this is not a proper 3D drawing, totally out of proportion. His face turned colour. But as he went on from drawings to drawings that when he came to the feature wall - then he too realise somewhat that the proportion is too out to discuss on the drawings. The wall and tv console are quite out of proportion to each other...Haha.. I am not sure how accurate other ID firms have for their 3D presentations. I always feel these are feel good with colours and layout - but mine is not to scale proportion - merely concept to fit in the choosing of laminates. -
My kitchen was really small, only 6sq meters. So no choice, I had to take out a wall and will be eating about 1meter space into the dinning area. Not sure how it will turn out but I think it is a better move so it brightens up the place a little.

The move to get as smaller apartment as we do not want to be rely on live in house help ended with us lookign at a condo unit that is much smaller than a maisonette that we have been staying in. A small 2 bedroom unit is the target and we manage to find one reasonably priced suiting our needs. However, kitchen was much smaller than we are now used to. So reno plan has a major item to remove current wall and create space with glass partition and semi open concept kitchen. Conveying this to the different IDs seem to present varying ideas but mostly difficult to conceptualise. Quite difficult to select IDs that can fit 100% with what I want... Well finally, went ahead with a young man from North West - Alex. I must say, he has been quite pleasant to deal with. He came up with the basic layout plan, and lighting plan. We amended and change some areas before the hacking started. Hacking Debris had been removed and material came in.. Quite on schedule. But then I noticed the hacking of toilet walls all damaged quite a few concealed drain pipes and town gas pipe. My ID did not mention these damages... Did not know if anyone knew that these were damaged in the first place if I did not mentioned them???? To be certain, I am a genuine client and forum contributor. Shall be reporting facts. Using Atlantic for my aircon, so far their workers have been prompt and responsive. Boss too have been replying in time mostly but she does seem extremely busy. BUT - Not on time during the first day and cause me to miss them as their survey team and the installation team have been different as I had feared. They called me after seeing my writting on the wall and realise they hacked wrong path..!! But all end well as they complete pipes and brackets as my plan of 2 days. So waiting for blower and compressor installation after the rest of renoworks. Shall update> -

I have just bought Indesit. from catalouge with 5 programme. Personally, I think they are more or less the same. Just choose the one that fits your budget will do. And I think mechanical adjustments are better than LEDs. Just me, I think mechanical ones are failsafe and last longer. Skewer to be honest I used only once for chicken. Did not find it too useful. Later only used normal roasting pan will do. On the Fan, the EF one I had does not come with it. The indesit one yes it comes with it. I think it will reduce cooking time somewhat. Can't wait to experiement with it after my reno and move in.
-
I had the EF somewhere in Italy but I do believe they are all made in the same factory mostly. Parts that can spoil are mostly replaceable and common. Cooling Fans, heater elements. If you use it monthly the heater can last without any problem, like mine now still going strong. But if you do not use it often, they do corrode from the moisture that gets absorb into the elements insulation and "kaput". That's why they recommend to on it every now and then if you really do not use it at all. But do note the recommendations to leave the cooling fan on until temperature is lower than 60 degrees C, after you have completed cooking, otherwise a over temperature sensor gets triggered. Something I learnt 2 days before cooking my Christmas turkey. Luckily they sent the technician to reset the switch which is at the back of the unit. SO I know how to reset as I was present and now always leave it on after cooking until it cools down. Hope these information helps.

It is quite easy to replace as most of the ovens have similar cut-out size from what I have seen. And, the one I am using for the last 6 years is still functioning well and no real problems so far.
