  1. fabric for me...don't like the idea of getting "glued" to a leather sofa in this climate. If you're worried about liquid spills or stains etc you could always protect it using Scotchguard spray (see: Scothguard). Simple DIY solution. Another plus about fabric sofa, if you decide you want to change it's look, all you have to do is get new slip covers rather than a new sofa
  2. I believe they're called prints...you can find lots of overseas websites that would carry these - framed or unframed. Just search the words "prints" or "posters"
  3. I used Eric from Wellmax for my windows grilles (living room + corridor bedroom = 7 panels) and the price was reasonable and we're able to deliver in a week's time (would have been earlier but they were busy with the hari raya weekend). Eric knew his stuff and would give his recommendations as well. Only problem I had was the installation was late - was told 3 pm, didn't show up till about 5 pm but that was because they were delayed at another location. But the two guys went straight to work, quick and efficient and were done within like 20 plus minutes. The grilles were to the specifications that I had asked for.
  4. Intend to renovate my kitchen - was thinking of going with Ikea but was wondering whether maybe can get contractor to do something similar but for less. Does any one have any recommendations and contacts? Thanks in advance.
  5. I have my tv just off to the side of the foot of the bed so that it's not directly in front of the bed, then just turn it towards you for viewing pleasure...no problems with sleeping...actually the tv helps me to sleep so usually fall asleep with it on (of course have the off timer on to switch off)
  6. Where is the Choo Chiang in Woodlands? I'm living in that area and would like to check out the store
  7. I'm intending to replace the laminte/vinyl floor sheet that I currently have in my home (DIY'd ourselves) and looking to find a place where I can buy the flooring by the roll...I know the last time we got the stuff somewhere in Toa Payoh but as that was like 10 plus years ago I can't remember where. I have to say the floor was very easy to maintain (it's laid flat on concrete) and got a couple of tears in it thanks to careless shifting of furniture which we easily covered up with furniture but definitely lasted. Would continue to use it if it wasn't for the fact that we wanted a fresh look to the house.
  8. Their installment plan is like Courts still or must use credit card? Don't have credit card but would like to buy a few things at one time rather than one by one because of financial constraints.
  9. I'm looking for a freestanding cooker with the oven below. Prefer to have one that has an electric oven and don't need a place for the gas tank as I have piped gas. I'm looking for something like the Elba EC560 which is nice compact. Also not too ex. http://www.elba.com.sg/1024/index.html
