Hey all, my sink area don't have top cabinets to build a dish rack (those common ones which almost all kitchens have) so I'm in the search for a stylo milo dish rack. even though hubby don't like a counter top dish rack, we don't have a choice because half our wall where the sink is, is glass. anyone know where to find ah? stainless steel ones from sim siang choon or song cho ones don't appeal to me.... i want special types and look stylish in the kitchen one... pls help.

Amy Choon replied to ilmare612's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
i got quote for only one wall and it's $570 already, including installation and the price for per roll only $80. if you wall paper the whole room, i won't be surprised at this price. -

i need 2 pans leh... the green pans good? always see AFC advertising wor. yeah, just like the dutch oven, i need it for stews.. hehe... wow, now i need to know where to keep all those pans and pots in my tiny kitchen! for claypots, we bought 2 from Tangs 2 years ago, pretty ex la. but my hubby old school one, soup must cook in big claypot. and we got another medium wide pot for claypot rice. yes, dutch oven probably can do the job but will the taste be the same ah? just like cooking the claypot rice using rice cooker but it's a different taste altogether wor. that's why my hubby wants the claypot. aiyo... i should have written the title of this thread as "Poison yourself, poison others" leh... wahaha.. we throwing poison all over the place here. -
can revarnish to white one ah? kekeke... i don't know can do that... so where can i go? nope, not laminate. the frame is made of wood.. hubby told me it's veneer lehz, so can use the steel cleaner? if can, then i save the trouble. hubby intended to get someone to spray paint it wor.
-
wow, your dining table and chairs really look so nice after the varnishing and upholstering.... it goes so well with your wall.. i'm having a headache with my dining table too. i had this white framed extendable table for 8 years, and i intend to keep it becos it can extend to double it's length and very good for parties. but since it's white frame, the frame already yellowish lor. now we racking our brains how to make it white. hubby said paint not nice and will peel off easily... haiz.

i agree! and it takes up space.. the cheap one should be 1 man leh.... but then again, maybe you bought your 2 men at a good sale? you cook 3 - 4 days a week?? wow! kow tow to you lor.. are you working FT? if yes, then more kow tows to you.. ! hmmz, if you pay $40 for the demo, i rather you use the money to go for a good meal.. $40 can eat a good meal liao wor.... i even attended a demo cooking class, and it bores me to death.... -

Updates on reno progress: 1) Going slow, currently still look almost the same as 2 weeks ago. Yesterday was on leave, went up and saw a lone worker touching up the L box in my PILs room. 2) Got the contractor to move down the height of the wall light. I intend to keep the wall light point for ambience lighting and we chose those ice-cubes with LED warm light. hope it can throw some nice shadows in bathrooms! 3) Scrapped the idea of cove lighting, even though I know i will love the effect very much.. we have a ceiling fans all over and cove lights supposed to be in the hall and MBR, but due to ceiling fan most likely to cast shadows from the cove lights, we told contractor not to proceed lor. no point right? the shadows might just make us more frustrated! i cannot give up ceiling fans la, cos in my previous house, we have standing fans in every single room and they take up space and make the house even uglier than having ceiling fans leh. so now, cracking my head to find a way to have ambience lighting without taking up floor space. Things I've bought: 1) All the lights except the dining one! And I have a whopping 48 pcs of downlights! electricians and contractor commented that i have a lot of lights in my house lor... well.. different lights for different purposes ma.. 2) All the taps and mixers, except for the kitchen one. we caved in and bought hansgrohe... wahaha... we actually have special prices for g.ferretti but the whole set cost the same as the entry level hansgrohe, so in the end we bought hansgrohe.. we also splurge on 1 pc of Grohe rainbow handshower for my little girl. a pink one that goes with her room pink theme.. There are still so many things to shop around for and i'm so tired of all those weekend shopping trips. Haiz.. when will all this end! When can i move in to my new place...
-
haha.. ya! we should....
-
yes, you are right.. they don't.... i used it to put my materials for my craft hobby, which isn't heavy at all.. then when i moved house, a slight knock by my mover only and the whole thing collapsed... imagine you stacked them all up, and one day they decide to give way......... so consider again hor. the joinings not good.

the one man is the subline of 2 men lor... one man is JA Henckels Int'l and made in China, which is the value for money range and the 2 man one is Zwilling JA Henckels AG, which is the branded one... hehe.. did a search and found this info so share with you all. i think the robinsons ones are all demo... i prefer hands-on classes lor.. if it's demo only, i rather save the money and watch cooking shows. -
have you settled the moisture issue from the master bedroom? if you haven't, then don't build the wardrobe first lor.. cos the same thing is going to happen again wor.

but the 2 man standing very ex leh.. kekeke.... i also wana invest in some good knives! wooo... your gal is the chef in making! strangely, my hubby just hates nigella lawson lor... he said she cannot even cook! hmmz... drop both... always repeating crap shows leh... now i just go for w.tv on my iphone.. less popular shows but some are really funny, and best of all, they are free! samgalz, jiayou! hope you get your wish and have AFC! this morning watched Restaurant Makeover before i left for work and the lady Exec Chef was so pissed with one of the young chef calling her babe. she went ballistic... hahaha.... hmmz.. not so sure about the download part.. you might need to check with samgalz on the stream videos online. as for cooking, there are many cooking classes held all over the place leh. why don't you try to join some... i wanted to join the one at Great World City Food Junction. The western set meal class is hands on and $85. but my kakis kept postponing wor.... look around, there are many classes to try. -
i'm still okay with heights so far la... just scared of thunder and lightning.. keke.. i like pink! but really, i can't visualise how it looks.. choosing wallpaper now, still cannot visualise how it looks if it's on the walls leh... woo. think our house will finish around the same time leh.
