  1. I'm giving it a rest already, you haven't?
  2. i've got nothing against anyone from the start. and you came in and gave a rude comment. i'm very offended by your comments. i will give you a rest after this. but please, mind your language from now on.
  3. chronograph, you can refer to digitalasiaone.com for all the info you need.
  4. well. you are the expert obviously. you write for digital.asiaone.com right? consumers like me only listen to what salesmen tells me. i'm giving my comments based on what i'm told. sorry that i tried to sound too expert. I will try to use "i think" in my future comments. btw, i don't have bollocks. i'm a lady.
  5. if i'm wrong, just say i'm wrong. need to be so unkind?
  6. plasma not good... high electricity consumption. if got budget, go for LED. otherwise, LCD. save money in the long run.
  7. You need eubiq. http://www.eubiq.com/index.php?id=270 ossify is using that.
  8. hmmz... cos the kid will be wherever you are right? so if you in the hall watching tv, he will be there too right? he plays alone in his room a lot?
  9. suggest you do all the tiles first. becos it's going to be very very dusty. after the acid wash is done, then you move in ba. carpentry at least don't have that much dust. major overhaul? it's going to be a lot of inconvenience if you live there during reno wor. do you want to consider renting a place for about a month first?
  10. thanks for asking patsy. no budget now though.. boohoohoo.. you go europe often? hahaha.. does it work exceptionally well if the cashier is a lady and you are a man?
  11. hey, where are all the poison gang? Btw, yesterday i went to Tangs at Vivo and saw two men knives on sale. saw one cleaver and paring knife set cost about $69. if my eyes didn't fail me.
  12. i do find the opening of the drawers not very smooth... but i guess i just make do. what to do, cheap ma, and the only type that i see in singapore that i like, yet friendly to my wallet. hehe.
  13. on sat and sun, i went to this place at ubi ave 1. they have a lot of teak furniture, and selling very cheap. not sure if the teak is of good quality la, cos i don't know how to see. but it's really cheap. they are only open on weekends. website here: http://teakfurnituresingapore.com/ no GST, free delivery if your order exceeds $500, or if your item is big. i bought white dresser and 2 white bedside table for total $897 only.
  14. Hi, do you intend to change all the tiles? if you are, suggest you don't stay in first.. cos the dust from cutting those tiles is really a big headache. what actually do you intend to do?
  15. kids will grow up and want their privacy. probably you should just walk in and check on them better.
  16. ya..not only it's big, it's in such a weird position leh... got problem putting your sofa/dining?
  17. if door is mouth, throat is the passage way, then dining is the stomach, and hall the the.... bottom? hehehe.... ok, now i got it, i know what is throat liao. actually foyer no natural light, cos the kitchen window is actually facing the lift side... err.. how to say ah? it's a wall la. so there's not much light from there. the whole dining/living, foyer, part kitchen (cos of half glass wall) light all come from the hall full height window.. keke. my dining is also a swing door leh... cos entrance left and right too small for sliding. the plan left side is east.
  18. no probs, i share your concern on the BR3 and brought this up to the master. but he said it's okay. that room is for my daughter and in fact, it's very good for her leh, as long as i don't place any mirrors at the dining facing her can already. BR2 is indeed small, that's why i kept that for my in laws, rather than for my kid. they visit us very often, so there's only 2 single beds and a wardrobe inside. btw, where's the throat ah? i kept reading about the throat but still don't understand what is it.. haha. anyway, this is currently the layout i'm having. previous owner changed kitchen entrance and convert utility to study so we keep it as it is. kitchen door is full glass, and the wall btwn dining and kitchen is half glass. i knock away toilet and doors to the yard so i can extend the kitchen all the way in. layout here: BR3 and hall window full height and there's plenty of light. on the contrary, the unit is very windy.
  19. wow!that's a really cool idea leh.. hehehe. hey pinktini.. haha.. i would like an ipad too. but i definitely won't mount onto my kitchen cabinet. i will get a stand, so that i can bring it around and put on the stand lor.. but he really innovative la.. hahaha. i won't stand in my kitchen for that long leh.
  20. my fsm is actually some master that my hubby go to for prayers leh. same as your friend, the master also told us the house qi is good, so don't put something in between to block. he even said we facing the staircase also good. Actually, i'm quite surprised too, cos i also know most fsm will advise to put a divider. i even thought of how the divider will be, then when he said don't need, i was taken aback actually my floor plan: my is the corner unit. so nobody will walk past. unless someone decides to take the stairs lor, which will probably be quite rare.. cleaners will keep walking past though.
  21. my FSM different. he told me not to do it, cos it's like a blade right in the middle. not good.
  22. Hi, I was quoted about $6 - $8/ft for parquet and about 13.50/ft for bamboo flooring. basically, bamboo is environmental friendly since it uses commercial grown bamboo and it takes only 3 to 5 years to harvest, vs wood for parquet need trees that grow for 10 years and above. to me, both look quite the same la. just that bamboo flooring looks more solid. i was told bamboo flooring 20% harder than parquet. and star bamboo offer lifetime guarantee for their flooring. but contractor friends said there will be grooves in between bamboo cos it's already factory treated, or something like that la.... can't remember... if you have the chance, take a closer look at bamboo floor vs parquet floor. you will notice that parquet more flat after sanded... i did and really see the grooves lor. my bamboo dream was dashed cos of the height of my floor. in the end, i used maplewood.
  23. my previous place i had s/s backing, i find it takes a bit more time to clean to remoe those soapy streaks.. but once done with cleaning, it can look as good as new.. had it for 8 years and it still look great. so this time, i opt for s/s backing too. bigger piece some more.... didn't take the glass backing cos hubby keep scaring me with the stains at the corner.. besides, i feel s/s looks better with my silver oven and fridge..
  24. wow, that's a good infor!... thanks mr poison king.. hehehe... not poisonous now though..
