  1. haha, ngunadi.. when i saw the rubbermaid food saver you posted some time back, i had wanted to check out the creative living in harbour front cos i know that place stock a lot of rubbermaid items. i will go there every sat to send my kiddo for classes. i forgot last week and then now you bought it already.. aren't you fast!! there's a discount! alright, done, i'm going to get it tomorrow! woohoo~~
  2. yes. timber strips. i was quoted 2 prices. 11mm at $11.50 psf and 18mm at $18 psf. I had to use 11mm due to floor height as mentioned before. as for bamboo. star bamboo quoted me $13.50 psf. but the sales did mentioned they have some previous stocks that they can clear at $12.50, but that was more than 6 months ago. there are different grades of woods and they all cost differently. you are looking for big strips ones?
  3. Hi 3 monster, for bamboo, they have only 1 thickness and need to lay plywood at the bottom, so the total height is too high for me. cos i kept the hall's flooring, so there's a certain height that i have to follow. i can only use parquet, because parquet can be laid without any plywood base. my contractor managed to find maplewood at 11mm thickness. maplewood needs plywood too, but the total thickness is just nice.
  4. I bought an Ellane hob. was trying it last week and realised that the flame was not strong enough. When i bought the hob, I asked the sales person to intro me one with strong flame, cos i need it for chinese cooking. she recommended me this Ellane hob with 3 ring flame. but somehow, it wasn't as strong as i wanted it to be. I wonder is it because i'm using a gas cylinder? Sometimes when I on the fire, half of the burner not lighted up, i still have to manually fan the burner so that the whole burner is lighted up. previously i used SP gas and ariston hob and it was really good. so now, i wonder, is it the Ellane hob or the gas cynlinder?? i haven't started cooking yet, but if it's the hob issue, then i might be changing one. anyone can advise?
  5. ikea? that time i saw white single bedframe with sheep headboard at only 99 bucks, or is it 129?
  6. your boy in P1 next year too? i just registered my girl 2 weeks back wor... hehe. wow, things will go on pretty fast from there already.. good luck to you and hope to see pix of your house ya!
  7. haha... my standard is ikea chopping board only... wow! a lot of control huh! so you did get the wallpaper? this poison is indeed big!! i keep my spices in the original container wor.... lazy to transfer leh...
  8. wow ngunadi! that's so ex! as much as i love cooking, a 81 bucks chopping board is way out of my league!... ex leh. patsy! welcome back.. managed to get anything for the house. samgalz, welcome to the AFC club ya? hehehe.
  9. yeah, really happy walking around my own house.... feel so restrained for the past 5 months. tomorrow the contractor will come in to finish up everything lor. then wallpaper in MBR will only be rectified this Sat. then the house is complete! yeah! nothing beats our own home sweet home... my hubby also very happy to finally have our own place. thanks samgalz. yes, i will post once everything is done and i have unpacked everything...
  10. hey samgalz, not so good wor. actually supposed to move in my boxes in storage last Thurs, so that I can unpack on Friday. In the end, my house still doing carpentry on Friday lor. all my plans haywire. kitchen counter top done in the wrong colour and they will only be back to change tomorrow and because of this, they didn't install my kitchen tap too. I already moved in officially on Sat. I can't unpack properly cos some of the carpentry still not done. very inconvenient. but it sure is good to have my own place after a few months. been staying at rented for the past 5 months. lounging in my hall watching tv and falling asleep is such a luxury. keke.
  11. it's cheaper to buy a kid's potty and two step stools, than to dismantle everything when the kids grow up.
  12. i got both leh.. grohe rainbow shower head and hansgrohe raindance rainshower. i on the grohe before, and really can feel that the water is different from normal shower head... it's more soft... erm, don't know how to describe. i'm moving in 2 days. i tried all already then i let you know ya. keke.
  13. you bought hansgrohe too? i haven't tested it wor.. hehe. when you hire your ID/contractor, they will apply the reno permit for you.
  14. impressive! 9 years can draw like that.. she's really good. well, the panels look good wor.
  15. hi, i'm in the midst of renovating my condo. for my side, working hours is 9am to 5pm. and between 12pm to 1pm cannot work. it's slightly over 2 months since the start of my reno. it's almost complete overhaul for me. only keep hall/dining flooring. but i was told by my builder friend that work of this scale takes about 6 weeks only and my contractor is slow. hope this helps!
  16. still installing wor. so i can't tell yet.
  17. wow, your girl can really draw very well! very nice works she has done there. how old is she? and i really like those white panels in your dining area. gives it an english feel. so nice..
  18. well, you have your mum's maid too leh.. kekeke.. so lucky you too. for my first house, i clean until my back break and my hands ache. so i told hubby this time we hire help lo. keke. oh ya man, sometimes scared to come in lor. so many poisonous darts flying around! now i'm trying to siam them. haha. i think i'm gonna throw out more things during unpacking wor. so i hope after seeing more things go to waste, i will take care of my wallet more and won't buy things i don't need? well, i have only one friend who was so nice to take leave and help me do the unpacking. other than that it's just me and my hubby. oh yeah, i get what you mean. don't know where to put what, that's why my previous house is like a pig sty. so this time round, when i unpack, i will put two boxes beside, labelled "unsure" and "maybe don't need".. i will throw stuff i don't know where to pack inside these two boxes, stuff it in the store shelf, and 6 months later, if i don't need anything inside, then i dump them. wahaha.
  19. Hi, i have suspended kitchen cabinets and the height is 6". the contractor built a small base inside that measures around 6" height and width. hope this helps.
  20. my walls look fine as at now, but i will get the cleaners to clean thoroughly. haha... then better control leh. buy only things that you really need. this is your first house right? so you will surely move again, and if you buy too much, it's a BIG headache. trust me, i know! during packing at my old house, me and hubby pointing fingers lor. blaming each other for buying so much junk. in th end threw away lots leh. but these junk = money. a waste to throw, but really no point to keep. this new house, i'm gonna CONTROL! not going to buy if i absolutely need it. haha.... i naively thinking i can unpack all my boxes within 2 days! which is absolutely impossible right?
  21. it's an isolate area la. but then it's gonna inconvenience us quite a bit lor. hope the contractor can give me an answer later. must wipe walls ah? i didn't even thought of that leh. you moved in already? so good.... envious envious lor. a lot to unpack?
  22. hi wolflet, we should be able to keep the excess because we have already paid for it. i'm asking because if anyone has excess, i hope to buy over. i need something pretty to do up my shelves and don't see the need to buy one roll.
