How Much Money To Set A Side
Amy Choon replied to rayhwz's topic in Pregnancy,Parenthood and Education Matters
haha.. it's hard to calculate how much money to put aside for the kid.. these are just the daily and required expenses... how about their future? need to help them save so that if one day, we gone, CHOI! they have some money to sustain.. one thing for sure, buy a hospitalisation policy for your little kid. cos if your kid gotta hospitalise, it really ease your burden a lot. i remember when mine was about 4 mth, i bought a policy for her. i just paid 3 mths premium, she already stay twice, each time 3k, but i didn't paid a single cent. and please buy life policy for yourself too, cos money is what the kid need most if you are gone. as for the daily expenses, i just spend more on her than on myself lor. when she was a baby, weekly supermarket trips are solely to buy her diapers, milk power, baby wipes, baby wash etc... what to do? -
Parents & Parents To Be
Amy Choon replied to familyof4's topic in Pregnancy,Parenthood and Education Matters
wow, got parents and parents-to-be thread! i have a 5.5 yr old "monster".... in the form of a little girl. favorite past time is to terrorize mummy.. but i still love her to bits. haha, simon and rof (not sure if you guy)... it tickles me when guys started talking about prices of diapers.. now daddies already, so the topic switch liao ah? no longer soccers and gadgets? i like daddies who are involved with every aspect of their kiddo's life, right down to the price of per pc of diaper, just show how responsible they are... good good. -

Hey lilithfiend, welcome to RT! oh ya, the panels looks like it's for aesthetic purposes only. dust is still manageable, i hate the grease part. I still remember when i was doing my confinement, my confinement lady deep fried so much that when she left after 1 month, the layer of grease on the open sheving above the stove was so thick i spent a lot of time cleaning them up! open shelves above stove not a good idea, especially if a lot of chinese cooking involved.

i'm not sure if she will request for the flat during the divorce. don't know her personally so i won't know. but i do have a friend who's recently divorced, got her div papers beginning of this year. the court order granted her the flat and she's allowed to transfer to her own name, don't need to sell. however, in the event she decides to sell, the CPF money that the ex-hubby contributed for the house will also be transferred to her CPF account, there's no need to pay her ex-hubby. another friend of mine currently going through divorce was held back cos her lawyer told her it's not possible to transfer the flat to one person's name, have to sell or buy over from the husband. even the lawyer don't know the new rules that transfer to one person's name is possible, including CPF and all.. i guess really no harm appealing ba....

oh.. that's nice to hear.... she must be on tenterhooks on this new ruling.... i will see how i can pass this message to her.... thanks phantom!

someone told me this case, where the wife is gg thru divorce. and she got 3 kids so now staying with her parents. she rented out her flat which she bought 1.5 years... like that cannot also right? but she really need the rental income cos of debts. she seem quite poor thing, cos the hubby got a lot of debts and she's paying them, so besides her own full time job, she only got money from the rental to sustain... all the while, she's the sole breadwinner of the family... so if she don't have the rental money, she can't make ends meet.... i wonder if HDB can provide some concession on this case...

Umaisarah, yup, bought from IMM and from Kelvin too. I read your blog, you didn't get the bedframe right? I did. But the price I paid for the mattress same as you. And my freebies are, 1 mattress protector, 2 comfort pillows, 3 sets bedsheet and 1 Serta sheep. I got the bedframe too, because I quite like that the bedframes are simple. that's why i bought. yeah others, not possible to down the price any lower though. but can ask for more freebies. i saw someone bought 2 years ago, from Kelvin, and he throw in 2 latex pillows!! i wonder if i can ask for that too.. keke.

Hello & welcome! I think full height cabinets is really going to cramp up the place. have you considered if there will be ample space for your dining table in your dining room, and sofa plus coffee table in your hall?

Another 1 month and we will be getting the keys to our new place but we have yet to confirm with ID! We visited some during the weekend and met up with various types of ID and most of them only take down our requirements. A couple gave us ideas. And one even tell me to shift my kitchen door despite me mentioning that I don't have intention of doing that, twice! One thing we have purchased for our new home though, is our Serta mattress! A king size Sierra Hills. We stepped into Serta just to look around, and got attracted by the 50% discount which I later realised to be some promo gimmick. Nonetheless, I told hubby that since we like the bed and it's within our budget, then it's okay lor. Now I just cross fingers that everything else will be within our budget too......

Hi Umaisarah, whoa.... I looked back at my budget list again and realised I got 2.5K for my curtains. But I guess I only going to do day/night for my master, day for my hall and Ikea panel curtains for my kid and PILs room. As I'm on 28 floor, it's totally unblocked, so the curtains are more for asthetics rather than functions... And I love the panel curtains from Ikea, so I thought I can use that for my kid to go with her pink bedroom. Besides, I hate washing curtains. So I guess panel curtains can change every year without feeling too much pinch on my wallet.. hi summerflowers, thanks for the information on the different materials for laminates! Eventually, we decided to keep all our floorings since we have limited budget for reno. Save some ba.

5.8k for curtains!!!!! wow.... i can buy a swarovski LG fridge with extras for wine chiller, man...... where is J&S btw? Is it a high end curtain place? i only budget 2k for my curtains. hahaha... don't know if i'm too conservative...
-
hi umaisarah, ya... the bedrooms are bigger, the master bedroom is even bigger than the one in my 5rm HDB, this is one of the reasons why we chose an older condo. now all the newer condos have very small rooms.. wow.. your curtains already cost $2k deposit? it must be really ex! care to share the total? hehe.

Independent Buyer 1% Commission To Seller Agent
Amy Choon replied to tnqhome's topic in Rent/Sell Properties
one month to investigate!? maybe lots of other such cases to investigate also. Haha. So far haven't heard anything good about propnex agents yet. all the bad comments only. -
Down the walkway to the rooms. The study which the previous owner convert from the utility room. Sealed the door on the yard side and open a doorway on the walkway. Another room. It's currently connected to the master bedroom with a 3 or 4 panel sliding door. Gonna seal the wall and leave this room for my in-laws when they stay over. Master bedroom. Built in wardrobe on the right side (not in photo). Gonna hack and install new wardrobes. Having had a walk-in wardrobe in my old house, it might be difficult to squeeze all the stuff into a 4 door wardrobe now. But then it doesn't take up that much space and definitely won't get so much dust. The sliding door connecting the other room to the master. The master toilet. I will upload photos of the walkway (corridor), as well as the 3rd toilet. Photos not with me now.

Uploading pix of the rest of the house. View of hall from entrance walk way. Dining on the right side, one bedroom on the left. The only bedroom separated from the other 2. This one is across the hall. This will be my daughter's room, comes with attached toilet. The little girl standing there is my daughter, I use speech bubble to cover her face. Haha. The attached toilet to the soon-to-be daughter's room.
