  1. Hi all, My ID recommended 4 dimmer lights (for that warm cinema experience I wanted) on top of the 8 downlights in the living room. When I went to lightings.com.sg, Kelvin said only halogen lamps can be used as dimmer lighths. And halogen lights are known to be very warm. A fren recommended to use LED lights instead. What are the kind of LEDs I can get to have that warm feel for watching movies ? Quotations pls ? Thx.
  2. Hi all, can anyone advice whr to get best price for V6 fan ?? I got quotations from $290 - $340 .......
  3. Hi Vodkaz, the delivery will be end of Dec so I hvnt try, but did experience from shops way b4 Sitex started and that is the reason I chose Philips. 7409 does not come with the back ambilight. Bought from Sitex whr else, for $1299 + free DVD plyr, 1 HDMI cable, delivery, wall mount + bracket. The one with ambilight is $200 more and I would LOVE to have that but think again, I can spend on BluRay player n titles perhaps ;p ... so I juz make do with watching movies with dimmer lights instead for the cinema feel. BTW there was one instant whr Samsung selling 40" LCD ($1299) with free 26" LCD & DVD plyr. Not sure if the model they offered are good ones old models. Anyway I still stick to my choice, hope I made the right choice, duwanna think too much on LCD's/Plasma/ Philips/Samsung/Panasonic etc ... Oh yah, how come no Panasonic at Sitex ???? Coz my 1st choice was Panasonic Plasma

  14. Hello thx for the reply, What is splitter SVC point ? ... hmm so the normal TV point still exist lah, I can don't choose the SCV point rite ??
  15. Dearest all, At this present time, is it true that only SCV points can be installed ? For certain reasons, the previous owner did not install any SCV points in the unit. Only 02 normal TV points in Liv & MBR. I would like to hv at most 02 SCV points (Liv & MBR) and 02 normal TV points for the other 2 bedrooms (parent's use). Wonder if I can juz relocate the normal TV points to the other 02 rooms and get 02 additional SCV points for Liv & MBR ... ??? Renovation starting in a week time ... My ID did mentioned that they can only install SCV points ... true meh ???

  17. bro, wats the model of the 9000 series u'll be getting ? I had my eyes on 7000 series 42PFL7409, which also has the HD Natural Motion. juz curious whether the one u'll be getting is comparable to the 7000 series that I'm keen on ... http://www.consumer.philips.com/c/televisi...7409_98/prd/sg/
  18. Ok thk u ... I take note of the reflection issue for both ... another concern is the smoothness of the graphics ... whc is better for all type of viewing (tv, sports, dvd, bluray, ps3) ?
  19. so confirm ah ... Plasma is still THEE choice ? ... ok now it's 80% for me to get Plasma ... any specific model (mid range budget) ~ 42" to recommend ??
  20. Hi all, I've read the thread of "LCD or Plasma" and after much consideration, I am about 75% sure of getting a plasma for my living rm (for watching tv, DVD, BluRay, PS3) ... until I drop by Audio Hse juz nw by chance. I juz wanna hv a sales person point of view on the difference betw these 2. He said that nowadays not many pple buying Plasma coz of hot and burn lah wat lah. Then I asked abt the 600hz (whc I am keen as compared to LCD whc has max 100hz). He told me that the 600hz for Plasma is equivalanet to 100hz in LCD's. He then told me that this HZ is only smooth for text display. For smooth graphic display, should look upon the specification called HD Natural Motion. He then brought me to the LCD section (Phillips) and said this is the best offer now. -> Phillips 42PFL409 (100hz). This model has the HD Natural Motion and he showed me. Boy I am impressed with the smoothness of the pictures compared to those withoutthe HD Natural Motion !! My problem ---- I was back to square one on whc 1 to get ... Plasma or LCD ........ SITEX is nearing ... how how ?! Should I stick with this model ? Is this sales-gimmick for them to clear the TV ? ***confused again***
  21. SWIFT >> wow juz perfect summary for non-IT inclined forumers like myself !! PAWER !! Based on this thread, think I will switch my Samsung LCD TV to the MBR and will get a new Plasma TV for living rm (TV, DVD, BluRay, PS3) ... Waiting for the upcoming SITEX for Plasma + free BluRay or DVD player
  22. Hi all, I wonder wat material is practical for splash back ? I intend to have full red splash back (tempered glass) against a full black kitchen cabonet (top & bottom). My only concern is the durability of tempered glass especially during cooking. Or will it be wiser to hv red ceramic ? I don't like aluminium as my friend complained of time wasted for maintenance. Apart from this, anyone knows whether the glass panel for the dish rack comes in black ? The common colour is this greenish glass ... I wonder if there are any surcharge if I want it in black for the standard package usual reno company has ... One more thing, anyone did this industrial looking wall (like raw design of stone) ? I wonder if they are just artistically painted or some construction work needed ? I want to hv this in certain parts of the kitchen & toilet instead of spending $$ for tiles ... Any suggestions or pics to these questions ???? Thx a million in advance ...
  23. Hi all, We are now in search of a built in oven ... my concern was to get a black faced oven to match the kitchen concept of black & red (budget betw 600-800 & made in Italy) ... only thing there are not many black ovens out there ... Any recommendations ?
