  1. Hi I just rent out my private property whole house. Am keen to explore which Co. offer Landlord Insurance. Checked out AVIVA but sales lady said their insurance is more beneficial for owner, not landlord. I'm looking to insure my renovation in case if fire, etc.

    Diy Solar Film

Hi, Weather is getting hotter each day! I have completed applying the solar film for my whole house at less than $300 material cost by following the simple instructions on Youtube Bought material from shop, followed instructions & DIY to save workmanship of about $600 whole house (5-rm). Since I have balance unused film of 4.5m(length) x 1.5m(width), I am selling it to those who wish to DIY. Bought $17/m now selling 30% discount at $12/m for 4.5m -- $54 only. Will throw in some unused cut-out ones FOC. Specs: Light Green CX05; 45% VLT(Visible Light Trx) & 55% IR. I am fully satisfied with the material --can reject heat well and at the same time the view is not dark. Color is Good for most condos as it does not stand out and avoids trouble with Mgmt Comm. Interested SMS 96223887 First come first serve!
  3. Interested but not willing to spend too much. My windows/sliding doors total 20m x 1.5m needed. Please let me know cost with / without installation. Also did research & concluded that: 1) almost clear (high VLT) is more expensive than darker ones 2) car film more exp. than building film due to visibility clarity requirement by LTA (one car film Co. refuse to quote me for home as he said it is expensive!) 3) typical cost for clear type is $3.50 psf incl installation; $2.80 psf for DIY 4) DIY quite easy - can get professional look - check Youtube
  4. I have bad experience with this ICI Light and Space paint. Painted it for whole house except kitchen and toilet a few months ago. 2 big problems: 1) peels off easily, even with blue tack! 2) easily scratch with black marks when accidental rub with sth & difficult to remove marks. Anyone else have these problems? wonder if I can complain to ICI Co?
  5. Thanks for the great website - that LG Artcool is slim enough but it uses new R410 gas; mine is Rold 22 gas. Checked & surprised that LG does not have single split that uses R22. Will call them. BTW does any of you know if I can use 18000 BTU to replace the old 24000 BTU one? anyway my dining/living room is not big, but am not sure abt piping size, etc. Thanks in advance!
  6. Reason is because my old single-split Daikin aircon (depth 19.5cm) is down & need to replace. But problem is my lighting box at ceiling where indoor unit is, has only 23cm depth gap. so cannot buy more than 20cm depth else have diffciulty in maintenance. Any one comes across a slim aircon? Sales ppl said nowaways all are thick for more efficient ai flow. Thanks!
  7. Day curtain good to shield off mozzies while sleeping at night when you need airflow
  8. Besides Maintenance Fees, Agent Fee to secure rent, Pty Tax, what else can we submit to IRAS? Renovation receipts BEFORE rental can? or must be DURING rental? thanks in advance!

  13. Hi, To save $$$, I am thinking of managing the various contractors myself without ID. Need advice from those who have gone thro' this process on yr own. What is a good schedule in terms of sequencing if only these works need to be done? Any problem froeseeable if I do this in this sequence: 1) Carpentry - Remove & install new kitchen cabinet doors only, build-in study table/cabinets 2) Touch up wall cracks & Whole house painting 3) Electrical - install lighting cum motion detectors/timers, LEDs on staircase, ceiling fans, new lights, etc 4) Flooring - bedrooms repair / varnish parquet & living room marble polish Thanks in advance!
