  1. I realise that it is impossible for each hardware shop to stock all brands of WC or basin or taps and etc. Some of the brand itself are sold exclusively by certain sellers. We actually took down the brand and the model (can take picture, better) of the item we need and source it for better pricing. Summer Hardware Trading does display some of the brands that they are selling but if you have a particular requirement, just let Ms. Kee knows. She can pick up a phone call and provide you with a quotation instantly. Most importantly, they are not charging GST. It is easier to bargain if you are getting everything from a vendor. Ms. Kee given us an attractive pricing for all the items (toilet + kitchen accessories) we need. Do drop by and tell to her. She is very friendly!!
  2. You are very lucky. I waited for more than 2 weeks before he can provide us with a quotation. I have justed started my renovation with Jason. So far he is responsive to our request. Price wise, he is the lowest among all the IDs or renovators which I approach. Feel free to discuss with him your request. He is very helpful. Regards
  3. Hacking started last friday at my place and I drop by at the house on saturday night to view it. Apparently, they have taken down the lighting so I was in a pitch dark house. Can see much due to the darkness but still manage to capture a few shots. Will post it up later this evening... I went shopping for toilet and kitchen accessories with my wife yesterday. We will in a hurry to make our decision as we need to get everything ready for Jason to continue to renovate. Moreover, my wife and I are quite busy during the weekdays. Therefore weekends is the only time to get things moving. First, we went to the Summer Hardware Trading (recommended by Jason) to meet up with Ms. Kee. She is a very chatty person and is more than willing to provide us with suggestions and answer to our enquiries. As this is the initial meet-up, we did not get her to give us a quotation for the items we need. Next, we went to a hardware shop next to Jalan Besah Food Centre (recommended by my family members). The lady who serviced us was very kind and not pushy (her name is ah ya). We spend more than two hours at the shop selecting our requirement. The quotation comes up to more than $2.6k. This is inclusive of the standard toilet accessories (we wanted a rain shower to compliment our MBR Toilet, no choice, wife love it), Joven Storage Tank 25Ltr, two WC, basins, Rinnai Stove and Hood. We will actually more than happy to seal the deal with them but gut feeling tells me to go back and look for Ms. Kee. So we rush down to Summer Hardware Trading again in the late afternoon. We went through our selection and she provided us with a quotation, which I must say is much more attractive than the shop at Jalan Besah. In the end, we even got our kitchen basin and tap from her. She throws in a few small items FOC to us as well. Summer Hardware Trading Blk 206 #01-1217 Toa Payoh North Tel: 62506670 Contact: Ms. Kee (she is the boss) Ms. Kee has actually knew Jason for more than 10 years already. If you see something you like, let her know, she can source for it for you. Up next... Aircon for the house.
  4. http://ubreno.blogspot.com/ This is his blog. You can get all the information about him here. I just engage him to renovate my house. Starting work today.
  5. I went to GC at Marina Square yesterday and was informed by the sales person that my options for system four are Mitsubishi Electric, LG and Toshiba as my place it a HDB flat? This is because the window to the air-con ledge is not big enough for any other brand of compressor. Does anyone has any similar experience? The salesman was quite pushy about promoting ME (I guess they will be given higher commission for selling it).
  6. My wife and I is not that concern with rolling pineapple. But my mum insisted with it so no choice but to allow her to do it. Noted on the S&C. Thanks We are going to look at toilet accessories and air-con first. My renovator, Jason, need it to continue their renovation process. I realised that my common bathroom have only one drainage hole. Hence, the renovation for that will be a simple one.
  7. Hacking is starting this friday. We hope to complete the renovation by mid of oct. Have to be fast, cos we are having our traditional wedding in early november. Feeling very stress as we have yet to get toilet accessories, air con and etc. Chosen the tiles last Sunday at Sin Lek. Dun look down on Jason artistic abilities! He did give us some good advice. Sin Lek's lady boss is good with her suggestion too.
  8. Wow... 8 years. Yeah, my place is one of the tall one... but not the one near to AMK station. Mine is near AMK swimming pool. Fernvale area is definitely developing. I have stay there for almost six years already. It was quite bad when I first move in. Nothing was there and transportation in and out of the estate was a nightmare.
  9. Sure Coffee o just drop me a PM and let me know that you are coming. He was telling us a person secure his services in November, I guess that must have been you. Where is your new place? Mine is at Ang Mo Kio.
  10. Hi I have also just sign up with Jason on Sunday. My hacking will only commence this friday. He is asking for the inital 40% payment already. I am ok with paying up but does he issue a receipt? I am quite insistence on this to avoid future disagreement! Any advice?
  11. Thanks Tuababy. I am currently staying with Fernvale with my mum. Are you staying at the new blocks in front of the bus-stop? I will definitely give Zen a call. Thanks for the information!
  12. By the way, anyone has a good Air-con contractor to recommend? We are looking for a four-way system. I was told that it is better to get a insurance for the air-con. Is that true? And, is it necessary to use with the Air-con contractor which my renovator recommend? Sorry, I know nothing about air-con. My current place does not even have one.
  13. Thanks Pinklady My wife and I decided to opt for Jason instead. It is quite squarish. Easy for us to plan the layout .
  14. And finally, after months of worries, and sleepless night, we decide to opt for Jason, U & B. Thanks to the power of internet, we get to know the standard of Jason's work and of course how he looks like. He is a very easy going person and his working style is very different from others renovators or ID that we met. And of course, most importantly, he is willing to work with us based on our budget. By the way, it was very difficult to meet up with Jason. He is always very busy and we actually have to make several phone calls to remind him to provide us with a quotation. The following are some of the pre-renovation pictures The house is actually quite a disater. Jason actually thought that the previous owner is Indian. They are Chinese by the way. Hopefully, Jason can use his magic wane and perform some miracles for us. Hacking should starts this friday or next monday. Hopefully, I can post more pictures by then.
  15. After exercising for OTP in June, we quickly got our copy of our new floor plan and started visiting IDs and renovators. My wife and I have actually talk to quite a number of IDs and renovators. We visited Expo twice, went to IMM, search the forum for popular renovators and ID, and approach them for quotation. As we are on a very constraint budget, we have to be careful on our requirement. However, most IDs firm, renovators are quotating us beyond our budget. Below are some of the firms that we have approach: 1. ***** (good designer, but beyond our budget 2. *** (the ID was quite new, and we are not too sure if he can do a good job) 3. Violet Interior 4. Chew Interior 5. Weiken 6. Taaxa (Good quality, but we can afford) 7. Pavillion Creation 8. Tau Interior (Kelvin is a nice chap but negotiation broke down between us) 9. Summer Design (never got back to us) 10. ID Note Design & Build (never got back to us) 11. U & B (Jason. Does he look like Phua Chu Kang?) and a few more which I cannot even remember...
  16. Hi Forum Brothers and Sisters, Thank you for sharing your knowledge in this forum. My wife and I have been a regular reader for this forum and I must admit some of your comments was very helpful to us when we are talking to the renovator or ID. Today, we finally went for our HDB second appointment and obtained the key to our new home. Our new place is a 4 Room flat at Ang Mo Kio. We have been fortunate that we are able to purchase at a less than valuation price in June (my friend terms this period as adjustment, as prices of HDB flat has never fallen). But honestly speaking, our purchase price can almost get us an 5 room flat in Jurong area. Hopefully, it is worth it. Below is our floor plan.
  17. Wow... Congrats I have been waiting for him to quote me since two weeks ago and he has yet to come back to me. I have been waiting long long already.
  18. Hi Ladies and Gentlemen Sorry, I have to dig up a old posting in the forum. I am currently looking for ID or renovator for my new nest. Can I check with all brothers and sisters if Radac accreditation is one of your criteria when you are finalising your ID/ renovators. What safeguard does Radac provide in the event that somthing really takes place? Given the fact that a lot of the famous ID/ renovators in this forum are not Radac accredited, what is the risk to engage their services? Regards
  19. I send him a request for quotation last thursday. But still waiting for him to get back to me. Any way to expedite my request?
  20. Hi Can you PM me your quotation too? Thanks
