you can look for Mr Lim here, Hiap Hin Timber Merchants & Trading 348 Jurong East Ave 1, Singapore 600348 6565 3634 i spent a total about $75 for everything from the sheet to stand and glue. if you want to go for SS, then the costs should be about 20% higher please share your photos and good luck with your DIY! -
Sheet Metal Customization - Above Cooking Stove

Hey guys, hope the long weekend was great I managed to collect the metal sheet over the weekend, i'll let the pictures do the talking below condition of wood after fume hood removal arrival of Alum 3mm checkered plate (i opted for checkered becuz of the design and some extra bits of thickness) try to use min 3mm thickness, mine was just nice with very slight sludge Mr Lim don't do welding, so you need to get those A+B glue and DIY had some left over silver spray so i sprayed it over to give some protection and to make it look like its been soldered. alternative if you dont want to do the sloping, just get the dimensions for the cover will do finished product i'm planning to paint the wood, any kind of paints to recommend? -
Sheet Metal Customization - Above Cooking Stove

Sure, will do so when its ready for collection this weekend. just my thoughts, if you still want the filtering function then might as well get a new fume hood, save your trouble running around and planning on how to do it etc. i have previously enquired the costs to be around 300+, comparing to the filter, fan, custom work that you will require. i chose to forgo the fume hood function since it doesnt seem to really help for me and that "exhaust" is currently at my eye level, it chokes me at times when i stir fry with high heat just my 2 cents, whichever that works for you. if you need a recommendation on the fume hood's price etc, I can do a referral. Cheers to the long weekend! -
Sheet Metal Customization - Above Cooking Stove

Update: I have visited Hiap Hin and met uncle Lim, he has recommended aluminium as compared to SS. cost performance ratio i will simply just proceed with a sheet cover(ordered 3mm alumn) between cooker and cabinet. Will still apply the slopey effect with the use of 2 short metal rods. -
hey guys, just wondering if anyone has been to anywhere to have some customized sheet metals done up? i think they are the same material as what people install for their a/c ducts and fume hoods basically we have thrown away a very old conventional fume hood(basically it just diverts the smoke and smell to my eyes), decide not to buy another same problem anymore so i thought of covering that gap up with metal sheets, to prevent further damage to the existing wooden cabinets. just hope if anyone has some recommendations for sheet metal specialists and advise if sheet metal is suitable for the job? i have sketched a simple design to be like a "inverted slope" instead of just a cover to prevent clouding. all advise appreciated! thank you!!

just like to share my 2cents, you can have a cloth tape/tape over the glass while drilling, gives you more precision and prevent slip offs. since there will be slip offs, wear gloves. glass can be pretty brittle going against vibrations/pitches, so you can consider filling the bottle up with sand/mud before drilling? the hole size is quite big so you might want to start a hole with a smaller bit before moving up to 3/8", go slow and steady. do share with us your photos of accomplishment! happy diy

-
hi guys, my compressor has been making far too much loud noises lately. rattling sounds like as if the fan blade's hitting something, especially when you first started it my air con is from daikin. anyone with the similar encounter and have rectified? or have budget recommendations for a technician to do a health check of the compressor? by the ways, if i posted at the wrong forum, do pardon me. Thanks in advanced!

im currently using this fan in my room, but after the 1.5year, the regulator kind of blown off with smokes, lucky i was awake in the middle of the night, otherwise i wouldnt know what would have happened. i changed a new 3rd party regulator then it started to spin and sound erratically loud. so finally, i've made me decision to change the fan.. just to share my experience

Hi BRO! I've been here a long time(i think ) and i realized you've been helping out our fellow comrades here alot, this time I need your lobang already also, mind sharing with me about your FF9 so far? i intend to get a FF303 for my room but still in consideration as im pretty worried about the height issues as fan and light kit will be placed directly above my queen sized bed+frame. would be good if anyone could provide the measurements on how far is it from the ceiling to the fan's light kit. gotta do some measurements thanks in advanced bro. coffee on me
-
may i know if the model of your fan is ff303? i wonder what is the height of the ceiling fan inclusive of the stablizing pole(whatever its called ) as i plan to mount a fan (with light kits) right above where i sleep, dont want to slice my head off thanks!

Hi Folks, Hope you had enjoyed your long weekend! =) Would appreciate some recommendations for replacement of my ceiling fans in my rooms (Had too many bad experiences in the past just by listening to the agent's/salesman's suggestions) I've been to Haikel Lighting today at Bukit Merah lane today to get some recommendations and i was recommended the following. Amasco: Merz 52" (AMC-419) (http://www.amasco.com.sg/products_detail.asp?pID=53&scID=1) Price: $270 (Remote, 4xLights and installation included) --------------- As im exploring whether if I could get this cheaper somewhere else, or at least prolly get a more trustworthy after sales review. Any recommendations for a ceiling fan for a room? Really appreciate your reviews and recommendations!! thanks in advanced! Oh btw, I also mentioned Fanco to the saleswoman today but she did not really recommend it even when they do carry this model. Have a great day!

Regulator For Crestar 56" Ceiling Fan
clarencelu replied to beany0811's topic in Electronics & Electricals
hi guys, the LeGrand Mallia fan looked like the ones selling in homefix, wonder if its the same, i changed my fan regulator recently as the regulator has blown itself off, (using elmark LMK) but however, bought a very old brandless regulator and was told by the shop owner that the regulator's supposed to work.. currently, speed 1 is working like its on full speed.. i wonder if LeGrand Mallia fan is a changable solution for me, otherwise i'll have to change the whole fan..
