Ok, now i see. Why wont you consider using normal partition board? Coming from the angle that you have more flexibility in re-arranging your layout in the future as yr family grows - your 10 years plan. Sorry if i have missed reading any of your earlier posts as i do not have the time to follow every single t-blogs very closely.

I am also thinking about this right now because my Contractor is asking me how many sides of the living room i prefer to have cove lighting. When you say 5m, i presume you are referring to the length of the living room right? 5m is about 16 feet. So you need about 4x 4 feet T8 tubes to cover the whole stretch. Maybe can use only 3, and spread them evenly along the 5m (16 feet) stretch. Contractor keeps saying that cove lighting is meant to create a cosy feeling and the light should be yellowish kind - warm-white? But it will never be sufficient to light up the whole living room. So i thought of using 'daylight' instead of 'warmwhite'. Maybe slightly brighter to brighten up the room sufficiently, but i lose the cosy feeling. 1x 4ft T8 = 40W. 3x 4ft = 120W. So you are consuming 120W to brighten up the room. Compared to normal ceiling CFL (normal ceiling hamburger light) which is 2x 32W each = 64W.

Hi Macbart, thanks for the info, I am planning to visit the Ubi showroom this week, though a bit far from me as i stay in the west. And i hope i do not have to help out with the delivery like you do.

That cheap? So 1 strip is 2 metres?
-
Nice! Did your contractor help to dispose the old windows as well? My windows will be up this Thursday. Mine is powder coated white with tinted green. Waiting for Thursday :-)

Where will you be using the air entrained concrete blocks? The kitchen entrance?
-
Looks like you are settling in very well and in time for really a white xmas based on your colour theme.

Thanks Macbert, i just realised the showroom i mentioned is Blum's partner showroom and is not the main one. THanks. For drawers i should be looking at TANDEM right? And also for normal cabinet doors, i should be looking at the "Blumotion for carcases" (the $4.51) one? It is integrated hinge + blumotion?
-
Can anyone advise are the following suitable one? For lift-up mechanism for the dish drainer set cabinet, do we use the clip-top with blumotion? Blum hinges and blumotion Clip hinge with blumotion Clip-top hinge with blumotion Tandem drawer runner with blumotion (single extension)

Thanks for the info Pomme. I always thought Blum is the device that we retrofit onto existing normal hinges but looks like it is not. We need to get Blum hinges and Blum's Blumotion together. Previously i have emailed Blum that they sent me the softcopy of the catalogue with price. I see already i blur, dunno which one to get. There are so many types! So i suppose your hardcopy catalog is the same as the softcopy right? :-) Would love to see your house but scared bring you inconvenience. Haha... 来日方长。。。 got chance one.. thanks for inviting Now already busy with so many things :-p

I am actually quite confused when it comes to Blum because they have so many flavours of hinges! Can someone advise me what is needed for normal drawer runners, door hinges and hydraulic arm for the dish drainer glass door. I just need to delayed or slow movement effect so that the whole door dun bang close. Is it call Blumotion in Blum?
-
actually i think it is hard to get it scratched... unless you keep hitting the acrylic when opening the wok cover, need very big motion to have the cover hiting the acrylic
-
Kranji is a little out of way for me... nearest is Bukit Timah got a dealer right? Or the main showroom?
-
Um... pointers worth taking note of.... if acrylic must be same colour as the wall backing... silver colour if the wall backing is stainless steel. But will the acrylic itself warp under prolong heat? We can DIY using 3M adhesive to stick? Find a place to cut the acrylic... But stainless steel more pro... :-)

Necrosis, how do you manage such a big basin in common toilet? Where is the shower head and instant heater?
-
Maybe he call the plasterer to ask and the plasterer smoked my contractor and so i also kanna smoked indirectly? Whatever it is... dun care le lah.... just do it and forget abt it..... i extended my living room into the kitchen, so i think should be able to fit at least 2x T8.... I didnt know T5 is so expensive... i read the webpage u posted here, seems like beside being smaller in physical size, it has no other significant advantage over T8 and T12... so i guess i try to go for T8..... I vaguely recalled i check from somewhere, for Blum, the hinges are cheap like $4 per piece only, but the runners for drawers are $80 per pair and hydraulic arm for the dish drainer cabinet is like $100+ per pair?
-
huh... maybe my method more 'manual way'... :-p
-
Think what necrosis wants is to have multiple quotes in a single reply...
-
Just use [*quote] and [/*quote] to quote up the sentences, WITHOUT the asterisk... 'and' is the word that i want to quote up. After that you can type what you want to type. Reno stuff: I have elderly at home and they prefer bright, if not bright enuff, they will feel giddy... so i think probably for downlights, may use 'daylight'. I think it is brighter than 'cool white'... So i have certain level of concern on the brightness lor... elderly - their era - what they want try to give in to them bah... even furnitures and sofa also cannot dark colour... Now the trend for shoe racks and Tv consoles are Black and white, even glass are black glass... so very hard to find *sweat* I think in the end probably will be carpenter-make liao... confirm ok... cos can choose the laminate colours...

就算真的被罚款,也是你的装修商负责。。。 哈哈

Wow... i mean it is legal to hoist things up like this? Obviously yes right? If not you will not be doing it. Amazing.... is the lift in Holland smaller than conventional HDB lifts? Normal door grilles and such cannot go in?

Your house look damm big.. like the long stretch of windows :-) Houses in yr area must be damm ex, nice unblocked view also! Envy....
