  1. Welcome to RT! Your home is similar to mine, maybe can share some tips. My reno will start in early Dec.
  2. 3 light points is okay for your living room since you will not be switching them on all at the same time. For LP04 and LP132, you can get 2 2ft tubes. Get cool white MBR: you will lights above the bed and also at the wardrobe area. You can consider uplights. Balcony: you don't need additional ceiling light, unless you love to read at the balcony. Study room: fan light would be insufficient to light up a study room, I'd suggest an uplight or table lamp.
  3. i didn't have a good impression of closetdesign when i went to their showroom. care to share your experience? my preferred order 1) Carpentry - remove only 2) Electrical 3) Painting 4) Flooring 5) Marble polish 6) Carpentry (make sure your flooring is protected)
  4. $18 for the T5 light alone or including the luminaire? A shop in geylang was selling T5 2ft at $5, light alone. T8 2ft costs $2.

  6. LPG is more expensive than piped gas over the long term. Piped gas means you need to run it into your house, which some people are worried about leaks. Personally, I will be using induction so no worries

  20. Hi, welcome to renotalk! I also same as you, diy coordination. I just got a quote from the same guy as you, wonder if his workmanship can make it or not My quote is about 9k including hacking, tiling, plastering whole house wall&ceiling. I suggest plumbing and electrical get separately from the same guy better. Otherwise your water pipes and your electrical cable fight each other Carpentry get last.
  21. Welcome. I presume you have done your homework and know that you are paying more for PAX because you want to have the "accessories" to include in your wardrobe. Generally, Ikea products are only strong as a whole piece. The door acts as a protective layer while the back is very vulnerable. Ikea will charge you for delivery (around $50-100 per trip, check with the store) and assembly (i think it is an additional 6% of your bill). Personally, I don't like to install things that are BIG on my own It's only 6% charge, so you decide if you can handle it yourself. I don't mind assembling everything else, just not the wardrobe. The sliding door is a tricky mechanism too so I think I'll let them handle it. Anyway my 10ft wardrobe is projected to cost about 1.3k inclusive of delivery and installation. The installation only costs $80.00. If you are not buying doors, it should be very cheap. Just get them to install the frame. You can install the "accessories" yourself.
  22. I went to Expo and spoke with the Tarkett salesperson. He told me that the whole world knows that Pergo sells the best laminate. That's why I decided to buy Pergo Practiq (not Family)
  23. it's not always necessary to have reinforcements. just add a 30cm depth mortar base behind and your cabinet would look suspended but is not completely suspended
