your contractor never tell you about this requirement before overlaying your floor? How thick is your overlay? Drilling can be done on stainless steel. 3M is best for smooth surfaces like glass and stainless steel, even acrylic.

My cheapest tiles were going at $1.50 psf 30x60cm tiles. Hafary gave me 5% discount for a purchase of $1k

I hope you can get quotations below $15k too. Try emailing designerhouse@pacific.net.sg and get their quote. If I were to not DIY, I would have hired them Eubiq isn't cheap unless you get it off the shelf at about $300 per set. For me, I am buying directly from Eubiq so Eubiq will install for me. They just need me to leave the wires for them. So I asked my electrician to run trunking and wires to the locations that I want to install the Eubiq track. It's great as I can incorporate my RJ22, RJ45 and my power into one whole system. If you get off the shelf, you can wait till all the reno is done, but you won't be able to incorporate the various adaptors, which would be rather missing the point of Eubiq...

Hi welcome to RT Your reno looks like overhaul, but not as bad as mine. Who's your contractor?

Day 24 (Electrical) I will be posting electrical works separately as I have too many pics to share Apparently the electrician thinks I should have let him do first before calling the aircon people to run trunking. I wonder if the aircon trunking people would say that I should let them run trunking first. But what's done is done and this is how I did it So kudos to my electrician for being able to think of creative solutions even though he keeps complaining about the extra work Electrical costs: $2000 (not including switches/faceplates) for 10 lights, 5 ceiling fans, 1 db box, 1 scv, 2 internet rj45, 2 phone rj22, 1 aircon 20A single phase regulator, 6 double socket 13A, 1 3-gang (concealed), 4 2-gang (2 concealed), 1 1-gang, 2 heater (1 concealed)

Day 24 1 man came today, finished kitchen floor tiles, electrician continued to do trunking Total cost for the day's work: $100 Hacking 50ft walls and clearing of debris: $1000 Accumulated cost for labour: $4800 (including clearing of debris) Accumulated cost for raw materials: $2340.21 Total reno bill as of now: $8140.21 Was a bit stretched on the number of tiles for kitchen floor, I didn't order enough Had to use my toilet's wall tile as skirting for one side of my kitchen (good thing it will be covered by fridge and cabinets ) Also found out that the worker who was doing painting actually already used up 2 cans of my Nippon odourless all-in-one paint to paint already! I misunderstood him Getting him back to paint the rest, but forsee need to buy more paint. He paints very well but my walls very paint thirsty. Actually feel that he's a bit costly, but I think it's worth it. Tomorrow should finish up all the tiling works already. Told my workers about this blog and the 300 daily visitors, hope they are more motivated

Er.. actually, I should have just let my 1st contractor hack everything But I'm newbie so I only let the 1st contractor hack the walls. HDB actually gave me 5 days to hack, but 1st contractor finished within 2 days. 3rd day was because forgot to hack one part. Anyway, my floor and wall tiles were not really hacked. They were chipped off.

white lah You try put a drop of water on your wall and see if it beads up. If it does, you have oil sealer If not, means no oil sealer.

i thought bidet always on right side? most people right handed

if zoom in, looks like this.

are those drawers beside your WC? can they be opened?
-
can't be the contractor right? of course it's both of them

My tiler say he do this way to save tiles. As my sink area is about 62cm, he already told me that the wall tiles will have a gap at left and right side. If I align my bottom tiles similarly, it will mean that I will have a gap at both ends, which is disastrous. He will also need to use 3 tiles instead of 2. He also told me that once the grouting is done, I will not be able to see the lines I guess my multi colour grouting will help. Anyway, that big empty space will be covered by my cupboard below the basin.

think it's supposed to be in the middle, with clear or black silicon around it.

$170 nett but not confirmed yet. Plumber tell tiler size and position, tiler drill hole before tiling. The tiler aligned from the other side. Should I ask him to redo?

Went to buy some sanitary items today Tried to get 707 Compact but prices were all above $170. Rather disappointed.

Day 23 2 men came today, continued with toilet floor tiles and painting oil sealer, electrician came to do trunking Total cost for the day's work: $200 Hacking 50ft walls and clearing of debris: $1000 Accumulated cost for labour: $4700 (including clearing of debris) Accumulated cost for raw materials: $2340.21 Total reno bill as of now: $8040.21 My electrician told me my plumbing costs is changed. He wants $1000, instead of the agreed $900. I decided not to let his plumber friend do plumbing. He shall focus on electrical works. Another plumber quoted me a price, which is lower, but subjected to change. I asked him to come again for site visit next week. Also decided not to let the workers do painting anymore. 4 days to paint just the base coat of oil sealer seems too slow to me. I will have to source alternative painter. My 3rm required 20L (or 4 cans) of oil sealer base coat. I think they painted 2 or 3 coats of oil sealer. Seems rather overkill

No wor, my tiler has tools to drill holes in tiles too. My plumber/electrician is lacking in that.

Day 22 2 men came today, continued with tiling and painting oil sealer, electrician came to do detailed measurements Total cost for the day's work: $200 Hacking 50ft walls and clearing of debris: $1000 Accumulated cost for labour: $4500 (including clearing of debris) Accumulated cost for raw materials: $2340.21 Total reno bill as of now: $7840.21 Electrician/plumber and my tiler was discussing about tile cutting. Apparently my electrician/plumber has never heard of a tile drill bit before, rather disappointing. Together they cut some holes in my tile+wall, looks pretty decent. I think my tiler is a lot better at drilling holes in tiles than the electrician/plumber.

congratulations your house faster than mine

er.. on a side note WTS hamster @ $8 each, have 2 to sell

Bro, thanks for info. Anyway I can't do what you did (your picture below) because I am not getting built in wardrobe. I am also not custom making my bed/side tables to hide the trunking like what you did. I think my method is the best for my place already.. Anyway, my installers are from Natural Cool, they have high standards They used insulation foam to wrap the drainage piping. If any leakage, I call them to fix it Anyway, I don't intend to do skirting, so no low trunking for me. How often should I service the aircon? I was a bit shocked that you use cloth to prevent cool air from escaping your MBR too

you want to hire me? i'm almost done with my reno, see my t-blog!
