  1. if it does, next support at .73 actually if you look at the sti chart, it's a bearish SHS formation. unless we go above 2800, the only way it can go is to 2450-2500.
  2. Genting sank to 0.88 already, this support level doesn't seem strong though
  3. the proper way is to put a partition filled with acoustic foam. but this will effectively cover up your window. wallpapering wouldn't help much, shaggy rugs may dampen the sound slightly if you cover the walls with them
  4. the sink is part of the countertop acrylic can be used for any shape, see the following pic. that's an acrylic sink
  5. Some original pics before renovation He wants to redo the flooring. As the flooring in the pics looks like laminate, it can be easily removed within a day He wants tiles in the living/dining room and laminates in the bedrooms. After some calculation, this would cost about $1000 more than if he were to do laminate for the living/dining room too. Also, tiling will make his 1 week deadline a bit tight since he wants to do painting too. Doing laminate only would cut the time required to only 4 days. Any suggestions/ideas/comments?
  6. Hi all, This is the floorplan for my first client, 90sqm 4rm point block unit in Clementi. More pictures will come in following site visit. Basically, he wants to repaint the whole house and re-do the flooring for living room and the 3 bedrooms. All works to be done within 1 week. Hoping to do it all under $4k.
  7. I meant that you tile between the wall and the pipe. If it's too tight, just use cement btw, since you pay them so much for your reno, i don't think it'll hurt them much to redo it.
  8. I posted this last time but it doesn't include top cabinets.
  9. very good hafele and hettich are much more expensive but not much better, imho.
  10. Can do skirting! Tilers should be pro enough to go around the piping. Sorry, in your case, repiping is not cost-effective. Mine looks like this, see the pipe sticking out of the left wall near the windows? that's the w/m outlet pipe My choke point is in my MBR's shower room, on the bottom right side of my shower area as seen in this picture
  11. welcome to RT! planning looks nice, you renting your rooms?
  12. Yeap, Ikea. The drawer and hinge is from Ikea too. I installed everything myself, but if you want them to install for you, they can install for you at 6% of the purchase price.
  13. i see what you mean and understand that bigger dining area is preferable over efficient kitchen. mm you interested to come to my showroom to see if you'll have hollow sound? i don't notice it at all, maybe i'm not as sensitive
  14. if you prefer U-shape kitchen, then get U-shape kitchen after all, it's your kitchen! Why don't you want to move the door back? Is it due to budget? Ever considered Robina's Bamboo laminate? 3.8psf nett (no GST) offer is still valid till this Sunday. 3 bedrooms and study at 600sqft would cost $2280. Effective savings of $13,720.
  15. possible to take a pic? you can either do re-piping of affected portion, or just don't do skirting for the part that is covered by the pipe. i don't think your pipe is so long right? it'd be ugly. my washing machine drainage outlet hole pipe is placed in my newly constructed wall so it's not visible at all.
  16. wetworks at most 5k, so you can calculate how much he earn.
  17. Ya L-trim is only for laminates, to allow for expansion and contraction of the laminate. L-trim for kitchen floor tiles would be pointless. You mentioned that your piping is blocking? you mean your piping drops all the way down to the floor? that's kinda... I don't like pipes that go all the way to the floor as they accumulate dirt and you can't mop properly. At least 10cm skirting would be good. so the pipes should be placed between 10-15cm from floor, since cabinets usually start 15-16cm above floor.
  18. wow.. your ID earn at least 10k man
  19. for the older generation, tiling for wall in the kitchen is the norm. as for the living room, only floor tiles and skirtings to be done. for the younger generation, we don't tile kitchen walls, we just tile the floors similarly to the living room with only floor tiles, skirting should be done too. anyway, all my cabinets are raised by 16cm legs so a 10cm skirting (my tiler suggested 15cm initially but i had a shortage of tiles and didn't want to reorder/delay so i decided on 10cm) would not affect the ability of my cabinets to flush to the wall. also, the skirting helps to protect the wall during moping, which is pretty much the reason why the living room has skirtings too. as for my living room, i use L-trims so I can flush all my furniture to the wall, regardless if they have legs or not
  20. i didn't tile any of those in fact, i had no wall tiles for kitchen, just floor tiles and tile skirting 10cm high whether you should tile or not depends on your habits. if you always splash water onto the wall while washing your hands/dishes, then you should not do what i did but there are other options for dressing up your wall. besides tiles, you can consider glass, acrylic or stainless steel.
  21. looks very... fun have you considered the cabling for the bulbs or will you have false ceiling to cover up the cables?
  22. tiling the beam is so old school my previous owners tiled their beams in 1960s. i plastered it smooth your contractor can earn more $ if you want to tile it
