  1. There are different qualities of Pergo. Pergo Family is cheaper (4.9 psf), made in Malaysia/China. Pergo Practiq is more expensive (6.9psf), made in Germany. Which one did you choose?
  2. if you want symmetry, you put the subwoofer in the middle, and the console on the left and right of the subwoofer, flush the top of the subwoofer with the console. or just put the subwoofer in another part of the room. placing the subwoofer on the left or right will cause your console to look a bit imbalanced. if you only have those options, i vote for the last option but put the tv in the middle. or perhaps you can put your subwoofer on the left side, put your soundbar on the right side of your subwoofer and put your console above and/or under your tv.
  3. looks good, but do they install in Singapore? I only see outlets in Malaysia
  4. but Cuizino's induction hob doesn't use 13Amp. This one does, so you can plug into a normal socket. You don't have to pay extra for a special socket
  5. Are you sure your bi-fold is from Besglas? The transparent glass bi-fold door? Did Besglas people come and install for you? I didn't know Besglas does this kind of bi-fold with 2 square holes in the middle. Is it tempered? It doesn't look tempered from the picture. Besglas sells tempered glass which looks slightly greenish. How much did the fixed panel cost and how many ft wide is it? How much did the pivot panel cost and how many ft wide is it? The bathroom's glass shower panels and handle reminded me of Besglas. Anyway, you might want to check doorsplus at Liang Court for digital locks.
  6. The mopping one is very expensive in Singapore. At the comex it was going at 1198 for the Scooba 385. Frankly, I have always wanted to buy Roomba from US. It's half the price there, but in USD and no local warranty. After considering the currency exchange, it's 25% discount off the local price for an 'export' set. I figured the warranty would be worth it. But if I like this Roomba, my next updated Roomba will be bought from US (since i can use the same power adaptor). It's definitely good to use if you want daily vacuuming without doing it yourself. I don't think you need to mop daily though... but you will not want to activate both at the same time The following are the locations of the outlets selling the iRobots: Showroom Blk 34 Upp Cross St #04-138 (next to old people park complex) 6532 3733 Courts Bt Timah 205 Upp Bt Timah Rd 6468 1355 Courts Toa Payoh 460 Toa Payoh Lor 6 1800 222 6868 Courts Mega Store 50 Tampines North Drive 1800 222 6868 Best Denki Vivo City Vivo city 2nd Floor Pls call individual store for the availability of stock. 7. About $500-600 siriusb, your bathroom's shower screen is from Besglas? I thought the handle looked familiar. how much did it cost?
  8. at that price, you better get what you want but remember that your ID does get a cut of whatever you buy, it's industry practice. if you want lights, go to lightings.com.sg as for the induction hob, i would like to recommend taiyo's flat black one http://www.taiyoasia.com.sg/index.aspx?uc=...tail&ID=310 i would recommend the nl900r fujioh too, if you are going for recycling http://fuyiohome.com/cooker_hoods_detail.asp?code=NL900
  9. if your flat is small, mine is nano why not buy a robot to clean your house
  10. Bought some items from Comex 2009. iRobot Roomba 530 at $728 (free filter and sidebrush) Eubiq customised solutions at $2000 (5m, 26 adaptors, 4 lights, 1 cobra, 4 rj45, usb charger) (Comex gave free wireless headphones) and from IMM Besglas customised solutions at $2711 (full height 7ft tempered sliding door with 2 fixed panel and 2 mobile panels, full height 4.5ft fixed panel tempered glass shower enclosure with full height 3ft pivot door (5.3% capitacard rebate)
  11. hmm i haven't taken any pictures yet 320k, see my sig
  12. maxilite is ici's economical series ie. maxilite is cheaper than 'all in one' and 'light and space'. a sticker does not change the paint. they admitted to using fake paint. they compensated for it. anyway, if they had bought the 'all in one' paint for use in your house, the paint should come together with the tin right? unless they need the tin to cheat someone else?
  13. for HDB, it is possible to rotate the WC as long as you use the same hole
  14. if you buy low-e windows, is there a need to get solar film?
  15. hi, if you find a good foreign worker to do it, pm me the contact anyway, i would be getting oil sealant for my whole place. then 3 coats of washable paint. will probably get the odourless range from nippon. buy everything yourself and paint = ~$400 hire a foreign worker = add $50 a day ask contractor to do = 1200 (don't know if they will cut corners) i DIY at 1/3 the price and have peace of mind
  16. ossify

    Pd Door

there are also bi-folds that are top-mount so there is no bottom track. they cost a bit more than the normal bi-folds though. i will be getting 3 of those for my home
  17. hmm yes just plastering over would be cheaper than hacking, cement and plaster. less profit margin for your contractor/id too
  18. there are a few different ranges for pergo. i am interested in the practiq range. please note the hidden costs like 5% or 10% wastage and GST some pergo shops will give 5 or 10% discount, depending on the promotional period. skirting, delivery and installation should be provided free. make sure the gap between your existing floor and the door frames are of a certain height (depends on the range you go for, but 15mm should be sufficient) so that you will not incur further costs for 'cutting of door'. another hidden cost would be hacking of floor.
  19. if you want to diy it and at a cheap price, you can buy the frosted glass patterns from selfix at vivocity. about $30 per roll, forgot the dimensions for 1 roll though, should be enough to cover 1 door.
  20. you see that 2.4m x 0.6m table on the other side of my fridge? that's the dining area can fit 4 people without moving the table out if i move it out, can fit 8-10 people
  21. thanks yes my 4-panel sliding door will be the future doors for my kids i am using Alum Sliding Door W/Top Fixed 4 Panel WPC/Glass. the 'centre' frame would be the middle 2 panels. there will be no poles. it's all sliding, not swinging. yes my workdesk is right beside the tv console. i wouldn't be watching tv if i'm at the workdesk the children will have their own workdesk in their rooms.
  22. yes there's a 3 pane window. originally i put the bed under the window.. but i don't know if my headboard will cover the window. anyway, it doesn't matter because i can shift it next time if i'm not happy with the placement no problem with that one. the aircon will be placed above the door frame so it won't affect placement of bed/sofa.
  23. Hi all, I have been reading much from this forum and would like to join in as a t-blogger Attached is my floorplan Attached is my latest design from floorplanner.com. The circular things on top are alpha v6 white/black ceiling fans. The following are my past designs. This would be the big space version of the house for the next 10 years. The sliding door is a 4-panel sliding door. This picture shows how it would look like when you open up the room. Oops I realized the flooring for the kitchen and bathroom is wrong. Bathroom should be pebbled black (i don't like grout, hard to maintain). Kitchen should be matt white homo tiles (i don't like glossy tiles, too reflective). The future renovation would change the house to accommodate 3 kids, renovation to be done in 10 years time. Comments/advice welcomed
