A shop in geylang I was quite amazed at the prices too. Anyway, I think halogen is better maintenance wise because it is easy to replace. I understand that LED is very hard to change if it spoils. Can I check with you what you mean by "really hot"? I haven't used it yet so I am checking first. Anyway both LED and halogen type are also $180.

Yes you are right, except for the part about turning your TV into a PC You can watch supported movies/pictures on your tv via USB, but cannot install any programs in your TV I still feel that a PC is more useful. USB on a TV is more convenient, but since I will be connecting my PC to my TV via HDMI, I don't need a USB on my TV. Why pay more for things you don't need?
-
i was quoted $180 for this, did you get the halogen or the led version?
-
obviously your ID doesn't want to spend more money to rectify his mistakes. less profits for him if he do that. if you want proof, just go ikea and see how it's done you should only be able to see the doors.

the 2nd cheapest place i found quoted me $300, with free delivery
-
yep, i'll just connect my PC to my TV my TV has 2 HDMI, one for Mio, one for PC

I intend to get this ethernet enabled media player. Can surf, can plug in thumbdrive "Western Digital really hit a sweet spot last year with its $130 WD TV HD Media Player. The thing pumped out 1080p over HDMI at an attractive price, and that's all most people really needed. The newly leaked WD TV-2 revisits the formula, but adds in network playback over the new Ethernet jack, DTS audio decoding, and a component video plug for folks caught in the technological no man's land between composite and HDMI. Outside of that there's a just plain silly amount of codec support, which is hard not to love. No word on price or a release date, but the leaked photos and detailed specs seem to imply this thing is ready for prime time." edit: oops don't think you can surf with this. still need to use a PC.

Ok, so I gather you only have 4 points. (2 in utility room and 1 each in both bedrooms) 2 configurations. 1st configuration is preferable if you want to use wireless in your living room. 2nd configuration will save the length of wires needed. 1st configuration You put the modem at the tv console area, connect your modem directly to your router in-port. Your router will be at the tv console area too. Your router should have at least 4 out-ports, of which 2 will go to the utility rooms, and 1 each will go to the 2 bedrooms. 2nd configuration You put the modem at the tv console area, connect your modem directly to your router in-port. Your router will be at the utility room. Your router should have at least 4 out-ports, of which 2 will go to the utility rooms, and 1 each will go to the 2 bedrooms.

From what I understand, you will need cat5e point at MBR, BR1 and TV console area. That's 3 cat5e points you need in total? Or do you need all those and 2 in utility room also? In that case, 5 cat5e points in total? What broadband plan are you on? Who's your ISP? What modem or router do you intend to use? Need to know these things before I can advise you.

Hacking And Dismantling Costs For Whole House
ossify replied to spearhawk's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
besides the 49ft walls, the $900 also includes hacking of floor tiles for WC, bathroom and kitchen. What will the hacking fee become? -
wow, looks like the ex-owners spent too much on reno and had to sell it off
-
Exactly, please use Thompson's Waterproof Sealer to waterproof your Ikea wood products. You only need to waterproof the joints that are not laminated.
-
i'd advise you to go for the cat5e. it's much better than wireless as for me, i'll be having cat5e in my mbr, at the dining cum study area and at my tv console area.

-
Does your sliding door for kitchen close all the way? It looks rather short from the pictures.
-
