welcome to RT! Wow you bought so many Bosch products a bit late.. but usually contractors recommended by agent will give a % cut to your agent. so be wary of recommendation and see them as just any other contractor. wah change whole house windows $6k? ask your contractor to delete that from the contract, and get your own. Wellmax quoted me $2k to change all my windows, 3 sets of 3 panes and 1 set of 4 pane windows, 13panes in total. Wellmax Metal Works No. 9 Defu Lane 3 #02-00 Singapore 539441 T: 6284 6735 about the tile skirtings, most laminate companies will remove your existing skirtings for a small fee. don't worry about it. you sure you want parquet? very easy to scratch and expensive you may want to consider getting robina laminates like me

Some interesting rules from HDB website Examples of Renovation Works Not Allowed Hacking and removal of structural members such as reinforced concrete wall, columns, beams, slabs, staircases within maisonette flats, etc. Excessive overloading of the floor slab with a load greater than 150 kg for every metre square of floor area. Partitioning with combustible or toxic emission materials (e.g. plywood, plastics, asbestos etc.) Raising of floor level exceeding the allowable thickness of 50mm (inclusive of floor tiles) using concrete. Extending floor area by covering over void deck areas (e.g. covering over void deck areas within maisonette flats) Constructing water tank in bathroom except ready-made fibreglass bathtub. Repositioning or enlarging bin chute opening. Painting external part of building (e.g. common corridor walls and ceilings) Installing awning or other fixtures outside flat. Installing casement windows where flat's façade is facing common corridor. Laying floor finishes outside entrance door without having recess area or step. Replacement of full height windows or 3/4 height windows or bay windows. Removal or tampering of safety railings/grilles (internal and external) originally provided by HDB. Partial or total enclosure including installation of external grilles at air-conditioner ledge. Partial or total enclosure including installation of external grilles at planter box. No permanent sealing of planter box. Caging of interaction balcony 'OVERHEAD' grilles of any design. Change of use of planter box and air-conditioner ledge. Placement of reflective film (exceeding 20% reflectance) over existing window's glass panel. i find these bold ones interesting to note

why would painter damage the tile? just make sure you protect the tile with protection before painting anyway i have a on-site supervisor and only one party will do reno at any one time so there is nobody else to push the blame to.

i'm actually trying to look for a main con that can give me good prices for all my reno but so far i can't find one. on the other hand, i found many specialized contractors that gives me better prices than all the "main con" so i thought it would make more sense to just get different people to do different things. eg. my main con charge me $1500 for sliding glass door, besglas charges the same but with assured quality. eg. main con charges me $300 for sealant, $950 for painting, alternative is buy own sealant and paint for $500 and hire a guy to paint for $80 a day. eg. main con charge $950 for tiling work only (without tiles), alternative is i hire my own tiler for $500 and buy my own italian tiles for $5 psf. eg. waterproofing kitchen/wc/bathroom for $200, alternative is i get my tiler to waterproof for $100. i just need to find my hacker and i can begin. i think it's worthwhile

I just thought of using linoleum flooring for the kitchen. Read on to find out more. This product is all about durability after all, it was not named the 40 year floor for nothing! Linoleum is an excellent solution for bathroom floors for several reasons: * Scratch Resistance - Linoleum does not show scratches and scuffs. Even if the material is cut by a sharp falling object linoleum can be easily buffed back to its original brilliance. It is possible for the material to actually heal itself! * Strength - Linoleum actually grows stronger with age giving this floor the advantage of lasting a very long time. * Fire Resistance - Linoleum is extremely difficult to ignite and since it is a natural product does not emit harmful fumes. * Water Resistance - When installed properly this product is impervious to water. Perfect for a bathroom. * Maintenance - Sweeping and light mopping makes linoleum extremely easy to clean. Another area in which linoleum excels as a material for your bathroom floor is in the health department. Linseed oil is a natural ingredient found in linoleum flooring. Its presence allows for linoleum to succeed as being a naturally antimicrobial floor. Perfect for combating mold and mildew. As linseed oil oxidizes it prevents bacteria such as Salmonella Typhimurium, and Staphylococus Aureus from breeding and multiplying. Other flooring receives chemical agents in order to achieve the same affect however these agents will wear off over time. No matter the age oflinoleum or the finishing that it may receive, this product will always remains antimicrobial. It also repels dust, and dirt which is why this product is commonly used in hospitals and schools. If designing your bathroom from a green perspective is important to you, linoleum is a winner. Made entirely from natural ingredients this flooring option is totally organic and is therefore 100% biodegradable!!

My pricing is based on 649 sqft, about 100 sqft more if I'd use your laminate, i'd be paying about 18% or $400 more -

some front loaders i see use more water than others. this one uses only 49L, lowest i've seen so far. samsung is usually around 60L for the same size. dry out the rim.. i'll just leave the door slightly open and let nature do its part don't think front loaders need lint filter as the water is removed via pump instead of gravity
