  3. yes it's a norm, nobody responds to me in my blog either
  4. If you hack out, of course need to use new windows Why can't hack windows? So many people in renotalk have replaced their toilet windows. You can search don't let contractor smoke you! Anyway, his 'best' won't make the window level. You decide what you want. I think he's just lazy to apply for permit to replace the windows. No worries, $250 will settle it, search for contact on renotalk for kdk ventilator window with permit. If he don't want to do, get someone else to do, but make sure its done before tiling is completed. Got to move fast
  5. I feel that if you cannot accept it, then ask contractor to fix it or give discount if cannot fix. As for the ceiling, nothing much to do unless you want to hack and level the windows, then plaster level the ceiling. This reminds me to check if the walls are level first to prevent surprises.
  6. congrats bro, your 2nd appt is later than mine but you already do so much.. i can only start in 2 weeks time.. btw, get the s/s drainer. they cost $10 more for a reason your contractor/id probably won't want to change because it cuts into their profit margin
  7. Your ID recommend Supreme because got high commission Go direct to any laminate company, they'll give 10-20% discounts.

  15. not sure, i think that forumer bought cement elsewhere. but i'm sure hafary can give you some contacts to buy cement if you need. why not engage a free-lancer to do the painting? 3-rm flat, buy paint $400, paint 1 day $100. In total $500. I have a painter's contact at $80 per day, if you're interested, PM me. I am installing glass too, when I want to have aircon in my llving room, i will closs the glass door
  16. no i have not. i am not at that stage yet. currently sourcing for cheapest place to get hacking and tiles but the cheapest price i see is $1288 which is the RPP, i've heard of $999 before though, but have yet to see it. i may kiv it and not get it until fujioh is clearing stocks though. we shall see. induction doesn't make much fumes, i found. may be a bit pointless getting something that isn't useful. i've been cooking with the induction and it seems ok still, oil vapours not noticeable.
  17. welcome to RT! may i know what model fujioh hob and hood are you getting at $700?
  18. oh ok. i think Hafary will give 20% discount if you go on your own. thanks for the info fyi, someone posted this on renotalk early this year.. I just overlay both bathroom about 1.7m width by 3m length. ID quoted about $900 for that job, however I semi-DIY them at half price! Mine is a new BTO FLAT, hate the flooring so i overlay them - cheaper than hacking as new flats cant touch the flooring for 3 yrs. 1) Bought Floor tiles + 2 x 50 kg cement = approximately $250/- (at HAFARY located @ Defu Lane, still got 10% discount) 2) Employ freelance worker @ $100 per day ( 8 - 5) , took 2 days to settle!
  19. hi sohck, may i know how much is it psf for your AC5 supreme laminates? pm me if you prefer. any scratches on them so far? any problem with water? how about the i-robot? working good after 6 months? you also never got to finish up on that "complaint post" on the contractor
  20. congrats on your new "small" house and welcome to RT! my house is puny compared to yours! fyi, take note of drawings not drawn to scale. it looks good because it's not to scale. when it's implemented, it may not look as good. your tv costs 4 times mine
  21. did Hafary give you a discount price? or did your ID/contractor bring you there? the tiles you chose look rather small. you prefer small tiles? i prefer bigger tiles to minimize grouting. less grout, less problem
  22. storage bed is always very high, i have one now and everyday we climb up the bed haha next time old already must downgrade. oh ya, please remember that when you buy bedsheets, get the ones suitable for THICK mattresses Measure your mattress thickness in cm and inches before you buy bedsheets. mine is from seahorse too! cost about $850 nett
  23. i know of a painter who charges $80 per day (you buy your own paint). i haven't try yet and may consider trying him in the near future. i would recommend that you get someone to supervise his work. interested can pm me for his contact.
